I agree with what you said here. Whaley took a more NBA approach to building the roster. He was looking for a few stars and would just fill in gaps with whatever money was available. That works in the NBA because it's a stars driven game and one player makes a bigger impact in each game. It doesn't work in the NFL and as we have seen with the Pats, it's about the collective 53. The Pats haven't had many true stars over the years besides maybe Brady and a handful of others.

I think 10-12M a year is probably reasonable for him, but I wouldn't be shocked if a bidding war starts and he ends up getting 13-15M a season.

I for one, like this idea. I know the draft is heavy with defensive lineman, but I would prefer to have the flexibility on draft day to take best player available or trade down when necessary. Assuming of course that we can get him for a 3 year deal or less at a reasonable price.

The Mercedes Benz dome in Atlanta is incredible. But not Buffalo. To me, Lucas Oil Field is exactly what Buffalo needs. From the outside, it speaks to the history of the city, the grind and grit. The dome in Atlanta is too flashy for a city like Buffalo.

Based on his body of work only being one year, probably behind the top 5 (Allen, Darnold, Jackson, Mayfield, Rosen) . You see the intangibles and a good arm. It's just we haven't seen enough of it. I do believe he develops into a top 5 pick in a couple years. I really like what I see of the kid and i'm a University of Tennessee fan. Everything I have read of this kid, he eats, sleeps, and dreams football. He doesn't care about anything else.

He actually didn't. They won a national championship with him as a freshman playing only a couple plays a game. Chris Leak lead that team.

My measure is did they elevate their program. I know this is more of an eye test. But DeShaun Watson elevated that Clemson program, Andrew Luck elevated the Standford program, Aaron Rodgers at Cal, Scam Newton at Auburn, Payton at Tennessee, etc. There are probably guys that have elevated their programs and haven't been good pro's, but this is usually where I start. I thought the point was what is the best metric you look at for success in the NFL? Did I miss something here?
