Nate Peterman 2017 All-22 Analysis by BR
Lfod replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think as Bills fans we are stuck counting on whatever Daboll can assemble with the tools he is given. I think that is the situation to come to terms with. The offense has no identity beside Shady Mcoy and maybe Kelvin Benjamin. I'm realistic on the situation. Peterman hasn't finished an NFL game yet. Josh Allen hasn't played an NFL game yet. AJMcCarron is the only one that's actually ever been in the NFL as a backup. The NFL isn't an easy place for QBs and rookies do develop differently and most of them won't make it. I don't think the offense jumps out the gate and surprises anyone. I think the odds are that it will be a work in progress hoping to be established eventually. I think the offense was so out of rythm last season it effected Tyrod and Peterman. Tyrod handled it better because he can outrun pressure and had experience. I wish every other piece was in place so that I could feel like just a QB short of identity. I don't think it is that simple for the team right now. I love run first but absolutely limits getting a rythm in the passing game for a squad that didn't find rythm at times. What we definitely agree on is the best QB should start. Let's just be open that any of these QBs you start might have hurdles and obstacles in the way. -
Why the hate for Josh Allen?
Lfod replied to JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before the draft I didn't see to many people high on Allen. With everything I was reading I was kind of shocked we went Josh Allen. Rosen was getting photoshopped in a Bills uniform and Allen wasn't. I seen a little over reaction but not a lot of hate. People with stat concerns and maybe a handful of people that were offended by Allen's tweets. I understand the pick and support it. I can also understand if a Bills fan wanted Rosen and was dissapointed. Things have settled down because they have to be. You really can't debate on QBs that haven't played a game yet. I suspect any hate you think you see on Allen now will pale in comparison if Josh Allen doesn't live up to expectations. You already have people wanting him to start game one of the season. The investment the Bills made is Josh Allen so I think every Bills fan wants him to be a franchise QB. I think the message board actually settled in fast after the pick. -

Nathan Peterman might of been showing something behind the scenes before they decided to start him. I at least myself believe it played a role. That is why I don't count him out. Very much like Tyrod, if you have a guy that has special qualities it will intrigue you some to want to know if it works if you give it some time to grow. The problem is that 5 interception game is the label he must live with. Until he proves different he has an uphill battle to change perceptions. He might develop himself and become better. -

I don't think Peterman starting is a high percentage probability to be honest. It's not something I would bet on. I just don't rule it out because he appears to still be in the mix. He might still have something to show. I don't think he survives another disaster. If it happens I would that he's done. -

What the team has at QB is some potential, a hope and dream. You got a vet that's been a back up. You got a rookie that crashed on the first test run. You have a high draft pick that hasn't been NFL tested yet. I'm thinking it doesn't matter who gets the start because I'm thinking there will be struggles regulardless. You have a new OC and system. You have Shady Mcoy. I am open minded, but I don't think it's all going to be put together and working by the first game. So I hope one of the QBs can come in and start overcoming the hurdles. I think McDermott can surprise because he is a detailed guy. So I'm not writing anything off. I'm hoping Daboll is a wizard and not a huckster. -
Report: Baker Mayfield not ready to compete with Tyrod Taylor
Lfod replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it makes for an interesting season. So many questions to be answered. How does Tyrod work out in Cleveland. How long does it take for Baker Mayfield take to take the starting job. Who wins the starting job in Buffalo. I have my opinion on these things as well but next season becomes more interesting with more to follow. -

The Offense got bad last season. The reason it doesn't matter is because everyone got to see what they wanted. Even if Tyrod wasn't benched the results are the same. You have an Offense that can't produce points. So it's no double standard. Starting Peterman was stupid and Tyrod was still the way he was. If you couldn't feel that we rode the defense all season I dunno what to tell you. -

I wouldn't take it that seriously. In the end Tyrod gets to start for a team. The Bills got a 3rd round pick. Tyrod is in a place that wants him. We have yet to really see what it all means. Tyrod has a starting season. We will see if Tyrod magic works for them. We will see who starts for us... -
Fans calling themselves the Bills Mafia doesn't make them organized crime it's just a nick name. Josh is just trying to fit in with the people. Mafia is a theme used in movies, tv series and video games. It's not taken as serious as it once used to be. It's more of a part of history now.

You make good points. I'd have to agree Whaley made a mistake on Shaq based on the timing aspect alone. Why wait around for a player when you can draft a guy like Tre White that contributes immediately.

4 Teams that won't make the Playoffs again in 2018 (Bills #4)
Lfod replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think McDermott had an effect on the team last season. Defense was doing some special things as far as turn overs and holding teams from scoring. McDermott acknowledged the problem was "scoring points" so at least I know he was aware of it. The problem is now in Dabolls hands. Hopefully he has answers for that scoring problem. I think McDermott played the hand he was delt well enough for me to not fully rule out making the playoffs again. -
Sammy Watkins classes it up on his way out of LA
Lfod replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think some ex players of the Bills get some benefit of the doubt. When your thrust into a situation with little or no foundation it might decrease a players chance for success. Players like Sammy and Tyrod. Then you got guys like Dareus who check out and you know it's on them. Then you got guys like Shady who is elite enough to still get some production on a sub par offense. As next season progresses we will have more evidence to speculate on. It's good fun. -
Sports analyst Michael Salfino on Tyrod Taylor/Bills offense
Lfod replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No offense to this thread but the only information I will find useful about Tyrod now is his play in Cleveland. -
I think what you said is fair. Peterman isn't a guy I would bet on being great. I don't think Peterman was ready to start. I just don't rule him out just yet. The rookie did throw himself headfirst in that snow game. That was a stupid move but it showed a guy with heart. Peterman was in over his head in that Chargers game. You could consider it a debacle. He wasn't terrible in his second debut in the snow. He just made a stupid dive trying to get more yards and it cost him. I don't think Peterman is a main plan but he is in the mix so maybe they see a potential to grow still. I'm ok with that considering the circumstances.

Sammy Watkins classes it up on his way out of LA
Lfod replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the idea of Kelvin Benjamin. I like the idea of a big target. That hit he took to his leg that injured him made me think that being a big target can be a bad thing in some situations. I hope he doesn't frequently take shots that will cause injury because he is a big target is what I'm saying. The other guys I hope make a name for themselves in the WR core. You say JK but even if your kidding I wouldn't disagree with you. I'd kick the tires on Sammy again considering the situation. The only thing about Sammy Watkins that bugs me is what Buffalo spent to get him and the end result. I'm not looking to blame Sammy for the end result. So to me regulardless of the causing factor the situation was mismanaged. The team spent to get a #1 WR and didn't turn him into one. That is the only thing that I don't like about the Sammy situation. So when I say I didn't hear anything about Sammy Watkins hasn't doing anything to make me regret the team moving on I say it without a bias against him. If he lights it up and gets that posotive media chatter then I will be inclined to think possibly Buffalo could of gotten that out of him if it was managed better at the time. I still think the Dareus as far as players that hurt the team always wins. -

Lfod replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Tyrod was a disaster. I don't think other people really feel Tyrod was that bad. They just pushing buttons. Tyrod is definitely a guy that can makes plays. If he can some how turn it up and make more plays he would definitely be a guy that you want for QB. It could be his surrounding cast was the fault. It may be that defensive coordinators might have figured him out. It might just be Rick Dennison was that terrible. I just know that at times the offense got shut down. A few times it was shut down entire games. So yes in games with Tyrod at QB exciting things happen. At times he can make it work. I think next season will just be more evidence to what he really is. A guy stalled out by circumstances or a guy who can't elevate or be deceptive in his game and was figured out by the NFL. I've already mentioned before that I take McDermotts side. It won't feel as good if somehow Tyrod turns up. -

You notice he had a lot of good to say about the Rams when he first went to that team. Then he gets frustrated about targets. Rams was the second team he wasn't getting targets and feeling frustrated. I just see a pattern that is all I'm saying. Hopefully for him he gets established in KC. Good recievers get the job done. I'm sure all good WRs get focused on right? He can't be the only talented WR in the NFL that's drawing coverages. -

I really have no opinion on him. I post that picture because people say he draws the coverage so it's hard to pass to him. I never felt he was a all star for the Bills and he hasn't settled in anywhere yet to be that all star. I'm not saying that he won't be. He hasn't done anything to make me feel like the Bills messed up letting him go. I just think people put in to much work trying to prop him up as something he hasn't become yet. -

Lfod replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have questions about Tyrod that I don't feel are answered completely. I have a good idea but I still have some doubts about my feelings on him. This season should secure everything and put it to rest for me personally. I am rooting against Tyrod. I hope he struggles to score points in Cleveland. I hope he is benched before the end of the season. I don't want to regret my team letting him go. I don't want him to out perform what my team has for QB and make me feel like letting him go was the wrong choice. I don't want to miss him as my QB. I don't want to sit through the endless debate because I won't be able to not participate. It is addictive. At least he was traded to the Browns so I think I'll get my way. I think it will take a miracle for that nightmare to happen. -
If you crusaded against Peterman that hard be prepared to eat crow if you were wrong. I'm not talking about having doubts either. I'm talking 40 pages deep repeating the 5 interceptions again and again. Only so many times you can say something before it's a broken record. You only need to be on record about your feelings once.
