If Allen is dumb enough to hurt himself in a meaningless charity competition, he was never going to make it in the NFL anyway. Look at RG3. He was having a phenomenal rookie season, got hurt, then returned too early in a playoff game and ruined his career. Garoppolo ruined his season (career remains to be seen) by pushing for an extra yard on a scramble and shredded his knee. Players that do not understand where that line is (between maxing out and being competitive) get seriously injured and do not last in the NFL.

If Allen and Mahomes don't understand the difference between maxing out and being competitive, they won't be long in the NFL anyway...

I'm more anti-Bojorquez than most, but he did this and fumbled a perfect snap in the Ravens game (week 1 in the 2nd half in the rain, with the Bills already out of the game). If you look at his raw kicking stats, he's a bit below average. If you look at those 2 plays I completely lose faith in the guy. We can do better.

Depends on the coach. Housley has very little emotion, but previous Sabres coaches like Nolan and Ruff were a lot more fiery. For the Bills you can go back to Jauron to hear a monotone mumbler...

If the Bills go 5-11 or worse next season I would expect both Mcdermott and Beane to have very hot seats, and probably be fired (unless there's mitigating factors like injuries to key players). Edit - I don't think it's very likely that we'll get 5 or less wins next season. 8 or 9 seems more likely (if Allen progresses) and that should definitely be good enough to keep McBeane around for another season.

I've been seeing a lot of positive posts about the state of the franchise, Beane is awesome, etc. and wanted to come in with some truth (negativity). Our WR corps was the worst in the league last season. It's now been upgraded to.... a bottom 5 unit? I'm trying to be hopeful here (and there's still the draft), but this group absolutely sucks on paper. Zay Jones - 2nd rd pick 3 years ago. In 2 seasons he's shown occasional flashes, but to call him anything more than a WR3 at this point is unrealistic. John Brown - 5 full seasons in the NFL and he has 1 season of 1,000+ yards (the only season of 1k receiving yards by any receiver on our roster). In 2015 he hit exactly 1,003 yards. Through 5 seasons he's somewhere between a bad WR2 and a good WR3. Cole Beasley - 7 full seasons in the NFL and his best season was 833 yards. He's the definition of a WR3. Robert Foster - UDFA with 1 half season experience. He played pretty well, and could potentially be a diamond in the rough. He's a complete wild card. We don't have anything even close to resembling a WR1 on this team. Heck, we don't even have a WR2 on this team. John Brown is the best option, and he'd be considered a pretty bad WR2 on most teams.

Seattle and LA Rams are both on the most desirable list, and both of those states have high taxes as well.

I didn't read every post in here, so not sure if this was mentioned. How would you feel if you were Terry Pegula, and you increased your bid on the Bills by a couple 100 million because you thought you had to outbid Trump? Only to find out later that Trump's bid was (allegedly) fraudulent?

There absolutely could have been collusion against Ray Rice. He violated the CBA and was suspended (the NFL was well within their rights to do that). When the suspension ended Rice was re-instated by the league, but no teams offered him a contract. If, after he was re-instated, the league circulated a memo/email that said "No teams can offer Ray Rice a contract" then that would be collusion. If each team independently decided that Ray Rice was not worth signing then he wouldn't have a case.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you. Playoffs should be an expectation this year. Take a look around the NFL at teams that have drafted QB's in the last few years. The blueprint is to make the playoffs in your young QB's 2nd season (note that the Rams, Bears, and Texans were all awful for their young QB's rookie season). They turned it around in the 2nd season to become legit contenders. Rams - Made the playoffs in Goff's 2nd season. Made SB in his 3rd season Bears - Made the playoffs in Trubisky's 2nd season. Chiefs - Made the playoffs in Mahome's 2nd season. Texans - Made the playoffs in Watson's 2nd season. Eagles - Won the SB in Wentz's 2nd season (although he was hurt)

Tyrod Taylor for a 3rd is pretty easily Beane's best trade. His worst is a 3rd+7th for Kelvin Benjamin. The rest of his trades are more or less fair for the Bills and the team we traded with.

Murphy was OK when healthy (he was injured a lot and has quite the history). Given that we have an out in his contract I think there's a real chance we could cut him.

He was born into the right family. His business was "successful" by breaking the law and taking advantage of others.

If we're going to play the hindsight game, we should've just drafted Mack in 2014 instead of Sammy...

The refs in that game were letting both secondaries get away with quite a lot of contact w/o calling a penalty. They didn't have the stones to make a call on NRC that was going to determine the outcome of the game after having "let them play" the entire game.

Peters situation was complicated. The Bills took him in as an undrafted tight end and helped him become a solid RT. After 1 year as a starter we gave him a pretty decent 5 year contract for a RT. Halfway through the first year of that contract the Bills move him from RT to LT. Peters excelled as a LT for that half season, and for the entire next season. The offseason after his 2nd year of his contract is when he started holding out. I can see where Peters was coming from. LT's get paid more than RT's, and he was an elite LT getting paid average RT money. From the Bills perspective, this was an UDFA that we took a chance on and helped develop, and signed him to a fair contract (at the time). Perhaps the Bills were willing to re-negotiate but Peters demands were outlandish. Perhaps the Bills drew a line in the sand and said they would not re-negotiate under any circumstance. After sitting out the entire offseason (and getting fined a decent chunk of $$) Peters reported and started in week 1 of that season. IMO he was out of shape and his play was abysmal the first half of the season. He played better, but not great in the second half. He led the league in sacks allowed that year (not an official stat recognized by the NFL). He was also selected to the Pro Bowl and 2nd team all pro. After that season the Bills traded him to the Eagles for a 1st, 4th, and 6th rd pick. On one hand, we traded away a (likely) HOF player in the prime of his career. On the other, we turned a UDFA into a 1st, 4th, and 6th rd pick after an ugly contract dispute (with both sides sharing blame).

I wish that was true. One of my biggest pet peeves are the guys that wear shirts 2 sizes too small (Zeke and Alonso the 2 that stick out the most).

I have to wonder if this article was written by Star's agent? Look at play #4 Two things jump out on this play. The first is noted in the GIF. The Patriots have seemingly planned specifically for Lotulelei. The hand-off pushing out to the side a little with the blocker making a beeline right for Star is suspicious after the linemen let him through. The second thing to notice is how quickly Lotulelei reacts to the hand-off. He’s initially looking to hit Brady, but is starting to change immediately. What jumped out to me was Star getting dominated 1 on 1 by a fullback and the Patriots running it 12 yards straight at him. Star is a pretty bad contract any way you slice it. Generally speaking you have to overpay to get a UFA signing, but Star never should've been paid over 8 mil AAV. Snacks Harrison makes less than Star and he's actually a really good run stuffing DT. Star is a rotational space eater that doesn't make much of an impact. I want more from the highest paid player on the team.

There were a lot of red flags this season with McBeane 1) Multiple blowout losses 2) QB situation in general, and Nathan Peterman in particular. It still blows my mind that we went into week 1 with Nathan Peterman as our starter and Allen the only other QB on the roster. No excuse for that. 3) Cap usage. The salary cap hell we are in is mostly McBeane's fault. 4) Mediocre/bad FA signings and trades (kelvin benjamin) That being said, a 6-10 finish is about the best you could've hoped for with this roster. Next season is the make or break year IMO.
