  1. The Federal deficit will be astronomical the next 2 years. Taxes will be going up and there won't be a lot of appetite for football stadiums as an example.
  2. There is a very good chance that due to the budget issues state and local governments will be going thru the next couple of years the whole new stadium talk will lessen considerably. As time goes by it will resurface but I wouldn't be surprised to see an extension to the lease at New Era.
  3. If there is a QB they like in the 4th, 5th or early 6th I'm fine with taking him. The timing could be right. Rookie takes Webb place this year and replaces Barkley next year. If that's the plan for a long term backup I can agree with that. Not a fan of the flipping idea. Bills could use a long term backup. If not they can hope for a decent UFA next year and move on from Barkley.
  4. Elway was on local TV talking about the mock draft and said everything is fine. He did comment that the virtual draft could cause less trades than normal.
  5. None of us can repair the hurt @C.Biscuit97feels. Maybe Randy can take a shot!
  6. I'm glad I wasn't on this board during those threads! LOL.
  7. For sure and it is exciting. I was always curious how often this happens so I ran last years rushing stats. Of the 447 Rushing TDs last year 14 TDs came on rushes of 65 yards or more. 31 TDs came on rushes of 40 yards or more. That averages out to 1 TD per team per season. That is less than I expected! This doesn't happen often but there is certain players with many of them. Example McCaffrey had 4TDs over 40 yards. It's pretty interesting if anyone wants to check it out. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/ptd_finder.cgi?request=1&match=play&year_min=2019&year_max=2019&game_type=R&game_num_min=0&game_num_max=99&week_num_min=0&week_num_max=99&td_type=rush&group_by_pass=qb&quarter[]=1&quarter[]=2&quarter[]=3&quarter[]=4&quarter[]=5&order_by=distance
  8. Thanks Yolo. This article gives me a good perspective of what is happening.
  9. The only caveat I would offer is if a Edge/DE is not picked in the 2nd or 3rd I could see them passing on the position for the rest of the draft. IMO it would be hard for a 4th rounder to surpass Murphy, Hughes, Addison, Jefferson especially with the shortened training season. I don't see Beane giving up on Murphy unless he has someone who is at least as effective and if that happened the rookie would have to fight off Daryl Johnson too. I think Beane goes big for a DE or he doesn't go this year at all.
  10. That's how I'm seeing it too. Unless one of Beane's higher rate DE/Edge guys falls to him in the 2nd (maybe a slim chance in the 3rd) I think they are done on the DL too. I don't see drafting a DE in the later rounds and expecting that guy to move someone off the roster.
  11. Fournette costs 4.2 million this year and approximately 10 million on a 5th year option route would mean 7 million per for a 2 year deal. I'm not sure what Beane thinks about moves like this but it is probably the only way because the other option is not very good. The other option would be a new contract signed at the trade. Spotrac has his "Market Value" at 10.8 million per on a 4 year contract. If those $s are anywhere near Fournette's expectations I got to say the Bills probably should pass.
  12. Your post is a perfect explanation of the situation and should be bumped for people to read again!
  13. It was a list extracted of RBs from Pro Football Reference. They include everyone in the backfield. I stated specifically about when Shady (who is NOT one of the bolded) went down the Bills typically suffered and I don't want to see that happen with Singletary. As to other positions and injury drop off. I would like to see improvement especially in the QB position. If you're fine with the RB situation then OK, but many fans want a RB1 RB2 situation here in Buffalo irregardless of what other teams are doing.
  14. They got plenty of picks to go after anyone after the 1st 3 wherever they slot them.
  15. I can now see that Beane could be interested in a combination RB/KR/PR specialist. A guy like this could replace Roberts which frees another WR spot. Could it be the Bills will draft an Evans along with a true 1B?
  16. I will say that there has been a lot of agreement on the O playmaker opinion. There are always those who have a completely different view on any position on this board. The one thing that really was getting to me was the RB1B or RB2 takes I have been seeing. I just don't want to be in the same boat we were every time Shady pulled a hammy or groin. We were stuck with these "running backs are a dime a dozen and get them late in the draft or UDFA" guys. To illustrate my point on this one part of the thread, below is all the Bills RBs/FBs since Fred Jackson left and Shady came aboard. Pretty much all JAGs, cast offs or end of their career guys. I just want to see better at RB. 17. An EJ Manuel thread. Thanks for the trip down "Amnesia Lane". 2013: Doug Whaley, Doug Marrone and EJ Manuel. 2020: Brandon Beane, Sean McDermott and Josh Allen. Remember this post draft interview.
  18. I don't even count Jones as a RB. Having him and DiMarco both 32 years old taking up 2 backfield spots because of STs seems wrong. One really should go this year. Personally a 4th rounder is the latest and a 3rd (same as Devin) is good with me. Agree that the 2nd round pick could be a choice of 4-5 different positions depending on Beane's board.
