After some quick calculations the PS (after weekly callups) will cost teams around $3M in cap. Bills $9M in space right now is more like $6M. FWIW.

Awesome. So pretty much the same as last year if I remember correctly?

Fetes' Five Hot Takes for the 2021 NFL season

I specifically said I wasn't commenting on the article but you have been extremely down on the idea of the Sanders signing. -

I didn't say that at all. But now that you opened it up to that. YES I believe he can outdo his best season with Big Ben! That was a season total of 740 yards and a 11.0 YPR. -
Fetes' Five Hot Takes for the 2021 NFL season

I'm not defending the article but I have to say your seemingly negative attitude that Sanders is not capable of a great year is a bit overblown by using "stats". His last 5 years of QBs has been Siemian Keenum Flacco Garoppolo Hill and an old crippled retirement bound Brees. None of them come anywhere near Josh Allen. I'm hopefully optimistic. -
Fact is Edmunds is playing for the Bills this year for $4M. He is most likely playing next year for $12.7M. I'm pretty sure that Beane will not even talk about an Edmunds contract until after Josh Allen's contract is sealed. I'm hoping for a decent Edmunds improvement this year and I will only think about this subject halfway through NEXT season. IMO.

New NFL-NFLPA Covid protocols
ColoradoBills replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This quote from the article pretty much says it all. t’s always been that simple. Today’s memo simply raises the stakes. Beasley may bristle at this, but the simple reality is that vaccinated players will be tested once every 14 days. They’re more likely to be available because they won’t be tested for two weeks after their most recent test. Thus, they can’t suddenly be unavailable. Non-vaccinated players assume a daily risk of being immediately unavailable. because they’ll be tested every day. Beasley has yet to tweet in response to today’s memo. However, it’s becoming harder and harder for anyone to argue that vaccination status doesn’t directly impact a team’s competitive interests. After today’s memo, it’s impossible to make the argument. After today’s memo, every unvaccinated player who isn’t a franchise quarterback or otherwise untouchable due to skill or cap reasons is at risk of being cut. -
Pretty good Ice. Hope you're well. Good news for us "out-of-towners", all the Bills preseason games are live on NFLN. Getting excited.

Steelers sign Melvin Ingram
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. I could be totally wrong (and I am often) but with the Steelers schedule this year I see them having a hard time winning 8 games or more. -
Strangest Bills Jersey You Own

I got one too. Been sitting in the closet for years. I'm waiting for Rousseau to become a beast and I'll get the nameplate changed. I told this story before...........it was a drunken purchase at the Ralph! LOL. -
Josh is on the books with his 5th year option next year. Beane (as of now) has only $1M in cap space next year. I think he will sign a guy this year if it's someone he really wants is available at cutdown time, if not rolling over some of it has to be an option. Lot's of other guys to sign next year other than Josh.
-
Beane has enough cap to bring in a guy he really wants along with some injury insurance money. If nothing is needed rolling it over for next years signing is fine with me.
-
Wow. That's news to me!
-
Everyone signed and Beane has $9M in cap. Good job front office!

Roster is at 88 now. I still think there is a good chance the Bills bring in "camp legs" for PK and P. Personally I think it's the right thing to do. I don't want Haack and Bass kicking every kick in the 4th quarter of preseason games with 3rd stringers blocking. What if Haack or Bass have a strained leg? After all the Bills need a lot of kicks to find their new returners.

Without Ralph Wilson there would be no Buffalo Bills. Image of the stadium the night of Ralph's death.

One thing for certain is Hollister will give Knox some competition during camp/preseason. Something he hasn't had in the last 2 years. With Kroft never 100% healthy and Sweeney hurt last year Knox has been a default starter. I will hope that competition will bring out the best in all 3 of these guys and someone can step up enough to make the TE position at least adequate and not a weakness. I hope for the same at RB and the run game. Let's watch the preseason and let things play out. With some continued improvement from Josh he has the ability to make a "average" TE something more than "average".

The way I see it is the Bills will field the best starting 5 due to their combined pass blocking skills. That's the high priority. Run blocking is important but will only be determined AFTER the pass blocking consideration. It is quite obvious (I've posted this before) that last abridged off season was dedicated to the passing game. We all benefited from that. I predict that this camp/preseason will have a more balanced approach and the run game work and reps will be increased. I can see this improving the run game slightly. While it would be great to have the running game "yards per carry" to increase by 0.4 yards but ultimately keeping Josh upright and in the pocket trumps everything else. That goes for the RBs play too. I plan to watch the IOL battle this summer with all that in mind.

Bills working out DT Eli Ankou (update: signed)

It's kind of strange that there isn't a camp kicker and punter signed yet. -
Efe Obada “true sack score” ranked 9th in league
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's definitely on the outside looking in. Others have speculated there could be a trade coming up and DJ may have some late round value. If he doesn't find another team he could end up on the PS. Barring injuries there are just too many DLs so something has to give.
