  1. The Right Guard / Backup Center position cupboard is getting pretty full. Love how these guys a psyched to come here and compete for depth positions.
  2. I was at that game and remember Brodie went down and Steve Spurrier came in. That game was early in the season so I don't know if that was the 2nd last game or not. I say that because my Dad and I would only go to games in September and October.
  3. We have to see the details of the contract but I will say in essence it's a 3 year extension on top of his rookie deal. At the end of the the 3rd year of the deal he will be 27 years old. Just around the time that you worry about longevity. I will almost guarantee that the last year of his deal will be over the 16 million average (probably closer to 20) thus making the years before it less than 16. It's a smart way to keep your star RB happy and only pay him for when he is still capable of producing.
  4. Don't know if it's been mentioned but has anyone seen the Dead Cap hit LA took on the Cooks trade? $21.8 million dollar hit is not chicken feed. I would think that the LA Rams had a low opinion of Cooks worth to do that 2 years into his 5 year contract. I'm so glad Beane got Diggs over Cooks and it is not even close. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/houston-texans/brandin-cooks-14429/
  5. All those guys could be in play (among a few others) and I do agree about bringing the majority of them to camp BUT if a trade can be made with ONE of them to move up to get a rookie who can make a difference.............I'm liking that too. It's a low probability but i would be cool for Beane to "cast a spell" over a GM of the BoB variety! If that does not happen your comment about doing that closer to cut downs is my final hope.
  6. Remember the wooden snow fence on the sidelines/endzone. LOL, talk about lack of safety concerns.
  7. You know it's a bit out of the box but I could go for what you suggest. Add a WR in the 4th with a backup QB and a sleeper DB in the 6th and Punter in the 7th and call it a draft!
  8. Beane and his Scouting/Personnel Team seem to be in the upper third of the league (that's not me saying it it's the league's general opinion) and will help IMO. Using the 1st and 5th for Diggs gives a bit of an added advantage that they will not pick a bust with the 1st round pick. If they do indeed pick a RB with the 2-4 pick (which I hope they do) it could be argued that RBs with the vast amount of tape on them and the position in general can be achieved digitally. Compared to teams with a huge amount of picks this year (Miami comes to mine) I think the Bills can get through this unique draft year with a bit of an advantage compared to other teams. I'm still wondering if Beane has a few vets on the current roster that he is trying to dangle as bait. A Bills trade to start Day 2 or Day 3 is still on my wish list.
  9. My 1st game was the Houston Oilers in the '69 season. It started a tradition with my father to go to 2 home games every year together (just us). I was blown away the first time I entered the stadium. I was just a kid of ten and was not prepared for the sights, sounds and smells of that place. It was such a raw experience that it's hard to explain to younger people who never went there. One thing that I remember that is so different from games nowadays is how people dressed. My old man in a suit coat and his Kleinhans "Buffalonian" hat. No one had team jersey's back then. I can't think of the Rockpile without remembering my Dad, thanks @Chandler#81 for another trip down Memory Lane!
  10. All of that is not true but I guess you'll believe it if you want.
  11. .....and if the Texans played in the AFCE since they were FORMED they would have 0 Division Titles and maybe a couple of Wildcard appearances.
  12. Using pick #207 or pick #239 on a punter upgrade will in no way preclude the Bills from finding an upgrade at DE.
  13. So if I read all this correctly there will be a 3 week virtual off season workout period replacing OTA and Rookie/Vet Minicamps. If a team opts out (I see no reason for a team to do this other than some $ savings) they are NOT eligible to have a later on site workout session(s) if one is available (allowed) at the end of May/first part of June. The normal pre-training camp "summer vacation" is still going to happen. Is this how others see it?
  14. Yep, the only thing to bump any of those down is an DE if one they like falls. Kelley seems like a consolation prize for the offense.
  15. No, I feel the same. I'm hoping Beane and McDermott have a sleeper DB in the 5th or 6th rounds.
  16. Beane already is down a 4th in 2021 and he is not trading a 2021 day 2 pick and i don't see him bundling this years 2nd with a 3rd or 4th for anyone. If Beane does any big move up from pick #54 it would only happen if he trades a player currently on the team that he feels will not make it into the 2021 season. It would be a Star, Murphy, Kroft type guy and if he could pull that off he would be a witch!
  17. Yeldon is the vet now and they will draft a RB in rounds 2-4 depending how the picks fall.
  18. First the OP's insinuation that Diggs and Cooks are essentially the same WR in the 2020 off season is not even worth commenting on. I would about guarantee any GM would rather have Diggs. What the Vikings wanted for Diggs will probably never be known but I would imagine they wanted a mid round 1st for him which seems fair. I'm sure Beane threw in the added picks to align his #22 pick with that probable fact. This years 5th round pick and the 6th for 7th swap probably wouldn't have got him to pick #20. I hope any Bills fan would not have Beane nix the trade over that! That extra 5th and the swap would maybe at best net him 1 depth player. If there was any "over payment" for Diggs it would only have to be discussed as to the 2021 4th. Personally it would of been great if instead of the 4th it was a 6th or 5th (which was my initial reaction). I will wait to see if Beane will get that pick back somehow before next years draft. In fact I'm counting on it. Once again I would not kill the trade over that. That being said even using next years 4th as a bottom of the 4th value the whole trade worked out to a 1st round pick #18-19. So in this mental exercise the Las Vegas Raiders could of had Diggs for their 1st alone.
  19. The new CBA Rookie wage scales are in at Spotrac for anyone interested. Bills total draft cap hit will be under 450k. Beane will still have over 20 million in cap space if he wants to make a medium size signing/trade. Could be some players available to deal with during or just after the draft. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/
  20. If your point is that the PS is not worth it's time I would have to differ. With the new CBA rules concerning the PS I think it will become even more important. Odds are you are not getting pro bowl players but it does develop depth if done right. Here is the Bills 2018 PS initial roster. Bills 2018 practice squad Players added to the Bills' practice squad will be listed here with tweets of the news to follow. OL Gerhard de Beer WR Cam Phillips S Dean Marlowe RB Keith Ford DE Mike Love LB Corey Thompson CB Levi Wallace T De'Ondre Wesley OL Ruben Holcomb DT Robert Thomas
