Cam About To Re-Sign With New England
ColoradoBills replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree with the Cam is OK with everyone personality wise in NE. So the deal is now they sit at Pick #15 in the draft. It seems to me BB has to move up. The way I see it the highest they could get to is #4. No way NYJ and MIA trade. You willing to give up this and next years 1st's along with say a 3rd this year to move that far up? -
I have looked at their situation and while they can get some money in restructures it's not a lot. The biggest gain is restructuring Clark again. They can't get money from Mathieu unless the extend him (which is possible). After those 2 the rest of the players eligible to restructure is low money. Sort by Base Salary. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/cap/

I tend to agree with all you said especially the bolded. I will add that this year is unique and some GMs will be putting some hope in landing a couple of good players on short/cheaper deals. I'm willing to bet this is an option in Beane's mind. After the initial rush of FA players signed I like Beane's/Bills odds of picking up a couple of these players. It's a risk but I believe Buffalo is becoming a "destination" spot. I'm old enough to have patience and wait to see what the end result is after the draft!

Cam About To Re-Sign With New England

After the Cam news it seems to me that they intend to go to the draft for their starter. -
Available players released from other teams

They are currently at -$11M. I don't think they will be bringing back Sheldon Rankins or Trey Hendrickson. If they are they got more players to cut/trade. Almost all the guys left with big money hits have been restructured already. I will admit I have taken some joy in watching their struggle this year. All their games have caught up to them! -

Lets say you're right. Who is going to be the starter? A free agent or a rookie? Do you have a couple of names? -
I loved mine too until the company got sold and the culture totally changed. You definitely got to put the effort in to keep in touch with people! As to Star, I can't find anything current about the weight loss thing. It might have been on twitter. I think anything could happen concerning his future. I have no hard evidence but I do remember talk (rumors) 2 years ago or so about him maybe losing his passion for football and wanting to get more involved with his church. I want to stress that it was a rumor but I remember making a mental note of it at the time. When it's all said and done I think he plays one more year and I hope he kept himself in shape.

I just did and it's wonderful!

I don't see the need to worry about the contract length. It seems to me that if Milano is playing well his contract could very easily be traded if cap becomes an issue after 2 years. My personal hope is that both Matt and Edmunds have not reached their ceiling yet. A full healthy summer to work on their skills would be nice.

Vernon Butler takes pay cut

Just because Butler takes a pay cut doesn't mean he is a lock for making the team. A lot of crazy is going to happen during this years FA season. -
Beane's salary cap management

I want to comment on "restructures". Most teams (especially playoff caliber teams) have a couple of players under a restructure contract. It's a very useful tool if not overdone like the Saints/Eagles have done. Beane is conservative but he does have some decent options to pull off $5M-$7M of cap savings this year using it. Poyer, Beasley and Hughes (with a void year) come to mind. All 3 combined only have $7M ish in Dead Money left on their contracts. It wouldn't surprise me if some of these players have already been approached and Beane has this knowledge in his quiver if needed. -

LOL, probably the Texans. They don't have a pick until the 3rd round! -

Looks like John Brown was released

He is a Free Agent. As for the releases, Beane did what he had to do. I'm proud of him making these moves. -

So when it comes to the QB, WR and TE positions for the Saints they pretty much got Michael Thomas.
