Available players released from other teams
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did not hear that. Where were those numbers given? That's great if true. -
Allen will likely be extended this offseason

By the way did anyone see McDermott's expression when Beane joked about Josh taking a 'Hometown" discount? It was priceless! He was like "don't say that to the press". -

Might only be 6 years (definitely will be over 5 IMO). The $42M per is probably spot on. -

Not specifically though he used the "we are in talks" and "waiting for the cost to go down" reply. -

Even after Beane's presser I still hope they go after a speedy veteran RB. They can go to the draft for a CB (they seem good at that) and even a DE. I'm going to wait and hope the market for RBs goes through the floor in the next few days. -

Thanks for reminding me about that. Still don't know how much cap they saved doing this. It's not in Spotrac yet. I guess this thread had some value for me! -
Another signing that proves players want to come to Buffalo. I am a happy camper. I figured it would be low but this is better than expected! That's $1.72 off the Top 51 Cap!

Beane/McD zoom call today at 2pm
ColoradoBills replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think that will be. He already has to restructure someone if not 2 just to get the people signed as of now plus draft picks. I think it's more "restructure" as you go versus restructure to open a bunch of money and spend it. -
He wouldn't of signed if he did. He knows Josh is the man. He gets a ring this year and then a new team!

I do agree with Beane about the "restructures". He said he will do them if needed but he is not going to mortgage the future. -
Anyone thinking that Mitch as a backup is a bad thing is well....................................crazy IMO.

At least 3 for sure. My guess is 3.

LOL, we have been agreeing too much. I was hoping to have another RB. Maybe they still pick someone up and Devin doesn't dress on game day?

Does anyone have a live stream link for this? I didn't see it anywhere. -
Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
ColoradoBills replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thing is they don't have a 4th. I would like them to keep the 3rd. Beane has to go with a 5th and something else. I would hope. -
Phillip Lindsay Released
ColoradoBills replied to Purplebulldog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. There are a lot of FA RBs out there and I hope they can do something to get Lindsay on the team. Living in Colorado I've watched him a lot and he is the type of back I feel the Bills need. Catches the ball well and he doesn't fumble he can also return a punt or KO if needed to in an emergency. Added bonus he knows KC and has played well against them. -
There is a cap no matter what GMs can do to get around it short term. The Bills are in great shape and I'm sure Beane knows it more than us. Almost all of the Playoff Caliber Teams right now have multiple players on "restructure" contracts and the Bills have none. The RISK when restructuring too many payers beyond the backloading of guarantees is that these high "Dead Cap" players better perform! If you got to get rid of them for whatever reason it results in too much of dead money which everyone can acknowledge is not a good thing. We had a DT a few years back that's a perfect example. The Eagles for instance have 11 players on restructures AND a $40M Dead Cap this year. But the easiest way IMO to judge if a team has overused this technique is to look at how much total Dead Money the current players have. Eagles have A LOT. Bills not so much and almost half that they do have is in 3 players (Tre, Dion and Matt), young players who are in the core of the team. One thing you don't want is a lot of potential dead money on old players!

It's just my opinion but I am hoping Beane can find an Edge guy (be it DE or OLB) to fill the role similar to Lorax. This time with a little more of pass rush. I will not presume to know about all the players on this list but there is quite a few. I hope it would happen. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/edge/

I could see a scenario where Levi would rather be on the Bills for 1 more year and see what happens and the sign a 3 year contract with either the Bills or another team. I think it's smart of him.

Great. Then I say again a speedy RB who can stretch the D and get outside is needed. A pass catching TE to compliment Knox who we are not sure yet can be the TE1. A short deal probably is best. Probably a little older. This I was hoping Beane could get in FA. An Interior Lineman to develop from the draft. This seems to me all that can be done this year with limited money and the 1st 3 picks. The 5th rounders and later is just luck.
