  1. LOL. You beat me to the punch. I used "corpse" for Newton, "broken" works too!
  2. Since Curtis Samuel has come into the league, he has had these QBs throwing footballs to him. Corpse of Cam Newton Kyle Allen Will Grier Teddy Bridgewater PJ Walker Garrett Gilbert Ryan Fitzpatrick (Had 3 completions for his Commanders career) Carson Wentz Taylor Heinicke Sam Howell Just a "reality check" for any stat hunters.
  3. I was strictly talking about his cost. He will come in this year with a $6M-ish cap hit if the $24M (up to $30 with incentives) is accurate. With Beane's cap situations it's about the highest he can go this year.
  4. Pretty much agree. After you consider the WRs under rookie contracts I got him closer to bottom #2 pay.
  5. Suddenly Hollins is fighting for one of the last WR slots. After a drafted WR and assuming the Bills keep 6.
  6. Have you seen what top WR are getting the last couple of years? Heck, Samuel is getting what Zay Jones and JuJu are signed for. It's a middle cost WR contract to me.
  7. I was hoping for a middle cost WR. Hope him and Josh meld quickly.
  8. I guess. I think he is ok for #3. Another "stat" could be his 5.2 yards per touch was 2nd best for all RBs except Cook (5.6). I don't mind him coming to camp at all, but I can see others don't agree.
  9. They seem to constantly role in and out of high-priced guys. I don't understand their plan. They will live and die with Tua getting rid of the ball quickly. If he signs for $50M AAV it will be a big risk.
  10. Ty Johnson had a $626k cap hit with the Bills last year. Van Demark had a bigger hit. Beane is just signing some guys he wants to bring to camp. He may be able to do something after the draft, but the draft is where any real help is coming from. Beane could be waiting to sign 1 middle of the road UFA. He seems to have enough cap room to do that. I don't expect more than that.
  11. He wasn't used much. He seemed to come in late in the game and did ok. His 7 for 7 catches averaged 9 YPC with a TD was nice. He did pretty well when asked to play. I don't expect too much from him but as a RB#3 the Bills have done a lot worse.
  12. The Dolphins had a lot of high dollar players with big regular salary hits that can be restructure. Beane doesn't have that with the Bills. Only few guys that he can get a few million from left.
  13. Agree. He runs hard and caught everything thrown at him last year. Good RB#3. Should get some extra carries and catches compared to last year.
  14. Just was looking at that. It's a cheap signing. When will some members on this board wait for the real numbers.
  15. He's a depth WR. Any real help for the top end of the WR room is coming from the DRAFT. My personal hope is for a 1st round WR and then another (who is on their board and falls) in the 5th round.
  16. I would go along with one of those.
  17. Yep. Only need to look at Spotrac to see the money is almost gone.
  18. Agree. Beane will draft a WR high and maybe add a vet after June 1st. If no vet, maybe a flyer on a Day 3 WR/PR if someone falls on their board. Beane has no real money to do anything big.
  19. I agree. With the big WR class it will also open up a team willing to trade a vet WR (or even outright cuts). Beane can then sign a vet with Tre's cap. It's a tight cap year and Bills fans have to be patient.
  20. He is not a traitor. He is a DOUBLE AGENT. He will miss a tackle if needed for the Bills to secure a win. Hope he signed enough to get a comp pick next season!
  21. If someone high on their board falls into Day 3, I don't think this signing will affect them drafting another LB. That's what these insurance type UFA signing are about.
  22. The rookies will cost about $3M in "additional" cap space from where they are now.
  23. He signed a vet minimum contract with the Eagles last year. Was released and then signed to their PS. Was signed to the 53 a week later. I expect the same here in Buffalo. It's a guy who will fight for a depth LB spot. I don't see a problem.
  24. Last year Beane signed a bunch of free agents at the $1.7M cost, which was under the amount that calculated out as FA gains for compensatory pick using the formula. I expect a number of those signing again this year. Beane still might go for a bigger $ FA, but only if it fits what he is doing.
