  1. The age thing is not as big as some make it out to be IMO. A 1st rounder has a 5-year rookie deal and then typically another 4-year deal. After 9 years in the NFL, it's a crap shoot as to what a player's worth is going forward. He would be 32 and the young guys are 30ish.
  2. During the season is one thing for injured players. Tre was fully paid for the year of his injury.
  3. None of his incentives are on the books for the 2024 season. He converted $8.645M into this incentive. So, if you want to go with what you are saying, they are all NLTBE.
  4. People are getting this all confused. Von redid this part of his contract along with the base pay cut. Spotrac has it all defined. There are no LTBE/NLTBE incentives. It's plain and simple. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/von-miller-7717/ 2024 Sack Incentives (non-cumulative) 2: $1M 4: $2.5M 6: $4M 8: $6M 10.5: $8.645M 15: $9.645M $1.5M for an AFC Championship Win + 30%+ snaps + 12 regular season snaps
  5. I don't hate the move. I will wait to see what the contract actually looks like.
  6. Agree. I said so in the post above yours. I'd add a 6th rounder QB with some potential (and some Josh type traits) for the PS too.
  7. It's fair for both sides. I like the idea that he will be the backup for 2 years running. Backup QBs do more than thrown the ball when the starter is out. I think what he brings to the table there is worth the little extra $s. Wouldn't mind a rookie to go to the PS if Beane has any leftover 6th rounders. Get the QB room stable with 3 QBs for the next few years.
  8. The contract is going to be re-wrote for these incentives. I'm POSITIVE it won't be the standard LTBE/NLTBE incentives.
  9. Come on, the incentive won't be on last year's production.
  10. Haack has a $988k cap hit with no dead money. I don't expect him to be the regular season punter.
  11. Spotrac is keeping up pretty well. It's -$16M with $10M added to the cap June 1st. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/
  12. In Bates 5 seasons in Buffalo, he has had 203 snaps at Center. That's a little over 3 games. I think us fans penciled him in as "heir apparent" Center too quickly. They know what they had with Baters at Center.
  13. If you take Tre's $10M post June savings and throw that on Von Miller's Dead cap, Von's outright cut saves about $1.5M this year and it's over. It's a possibility.
  14. Bates, in his 5 years in Buffalo had 1436 snaps and only 203 at Center. I personally never understood how fans had him as a Mitch Morse replacement level player at the Center position. He performed decently but the coaches know more about what his effectiveness would be at Center better than me. Beane hopefully takes a couple of these Day 3 picks and get a true college center that can take over when Morse hangs them up.
  15. In what world is it a good idea for a guy like Tyreek Hill to even agree to participate in a thing like this? He is not a smart man.
  16. Best explanation of the Douglas situation that I have read so far. Thank you. I would add that if anything, Beane probably had a long term $ number in mind for the extension BUT after Douglas's play that number may have gone up significantly. If it has it means his trade value (3rd and 5th) has gone up or at least remains the same. This talk of Beane cutting him is insane. If Beane thinks he may have to deal off Douglas, he may have multiple teams interested. It didn't take me long to look at this year's 3rd round early picks to see a team like the Cardinals needing a vet CB. Dealing pick #91 and getting back an early 3rd round pick is a net plus. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens.
  17. Spotrac has them at -$37.5M after the McGovern restructure and the increase in cap space.
  18. Knox cost $2.6M in 2022 and $6.3M in 2023 in cap hits. This season his $14.3M is more than his worth BUT if Beane wants to move on from him next year he has a $7.8M dead cap hit. It's not as bad as people make it out to be. I don't see him on the team after 2024 unless he really tears it up.
  19. The Bills were way over $51M after they made the void year moves going to Dead Cap. Those players had to be replaced with others to get back to the 51 players. That is where the discrepancy comes from.
  20. The New Orleans Saints do not have a good football team. They are in a weak division and haven't made the playoffs since Brees left (3 years). They are 25-26 in the last 3 years (in that weak division) and should have totally reset in 2021. You reap what you sow. I still laugh when fans think their "blueprint" is in any way worth emulating.
  21. KC has done a good job with the cap but don't let these current numbers hide what is in front of them. They have some big $ guys on UFA right now. Jones, Sneed, Danna and Gay to name a few. If those guys were under contract the numbers would be drastically different. KC did a mini-reset the year they let Hill go and got in a good cap situation while still dressing a good team. I'm in the group thinking the Bills need to reset this year.
  22. I tend to agree with your points. Although, I am an adult (actually becoming an old man). This "gun violence" is here to stay and there is nothing much that can be done about it in today's world. I will say that the destruction of gun violence doesn't end with the victim. At an event like this (and these crazy school shootings) causes a lot of parents to try to explain to young kids WHY it has to be the way it is. I know I wouldn't want to be in that situation. I'll take it a step further and say I'm glad I didn't have to go through something like that when I was a child. Gun violence, road rage, crippling addiction, sexual abuse, among all the other destructive traits, are too prevalent in today's world. I'll admit I feel a little sad that I have become numb to it all.
  23. Agree. It almost amounts to the pay cut being a "prove your still worth elite money" deal. I think Tre would take it and not feel bad about it.
  24. 2024 is the final hope for the Jets with Aaron. He only has a $17M hit. 2025 he has a $51.5M hit followed by a void year $35M hit in 2026. Jets have 10 other players with void year hits coming this year and in 2025. It's all in for them this season and if they end up with only 8 or 9 wins the draft won't help them either. UFA this March will be interesting in players both coming and going.
