The Curtis Samuel journey has been another gamble that will probably not pay off. IMO Beane should know that players like this (and guys like Knox) would have signed for $1M-$1.5M AAV less and been happy to be here. In no way am I a Beane hater like is prevalent recently on this board, BUT I do believe he is a little too loose with the signing money. I think he missed the train on players who would have signed here to play with Josh for a little less than going elsewhere. A few bucks here and there could have freed enough cash for another impact player or two. I apologize for commenting like this in a game week thread, but it seems the thread has turned into this.
