LOL. I tried earlier. Lots of these threads get a little tangential to the original topic but this one took a "Thelma and Louise" right off the cliff.
-
I'll add one more. It seems Josh and Dalton don't have things in sync. Josh has been that way with others. Some he has built a better repour with, some he hasn't.

Every team's management has to work with what they have AND then adjust to their current PLAN going forward. With regards to their offense: Bengals have some great WRs. They have decided this year to pay them. They have a weak OL. They will have to hope they get through the year fielding that unit. If Bengals think 1-2 rookies will immediately fix this..............well, we will see. Anyone wanting to see their situation concerning the OL should click the link to Spotrac and see what they have. Scroll down until you get to the OL to see their multi-year outlook going forward. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals/yearly 11 players currently (5 - ERFAs). 7th rounder Matt Lee, 32-year-old Ted Karras (last year of contract), JAG Cordel Volson (last year of contract), Cody Ford, Orland Brown and Amarius Mims (only guy with true potential). This is the Bengals plan. Burrow got what he wanted. Let's see how it works out.

Of course. I'm just saying what needs to be released to Spotrac (and us fans). All the contracts might not be sent to the NFL yet and we don't know if any other restructures have been done.
-
Spotrac has Bills $6M under cap. That should cover the Gilliam, Green, Johnson, Shenault and probably some of Jackson's cap hits after they replace the current guys on the Top 51. Still have to cover Bosa and Ogunjobi's cap hits so a couple of restructures are still coming. Eventually opening up enough cap for rookies and the season doesn't leave a lot left that Beane can do IMO. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/_/year/2025

It would probably depend on what 5th year option Teir he is assigned. A 3rd Teir (which he is now) is $8M this year. This will be a big year for Dalton Kincaid's future. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2024/02/2025-fifth-year-option-salaries-revealed

I see a speedy WR drafted with one of the first 4 picks. While it's a little too hopeful that Kincaid, Coleman, Samuel, Palmer and Shavers ALL improve a decent amount this year, I do have faith that some of them do. OC Brady is still young and only has 1 1/2 years under his belt with this team. His growth and improvement using the weapons he has will need to happen.
-
It seems to me Dalton Kincaid needs to get healthy and hit the weight room and get a bit of a meaner attitude. I think there are a few other players that need to do the same thing. In no way am I ready to give up on him. Maybe this is why the training staff has changed.

Is McD compensating for Beane Part #2?

Personally, I don't give it a second thought. I guess that's why I don't understand these debates. -
Is McD compensating for Beane Part #2?
ColoradoBills replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
So, for the sake of argument (LOL) say Howie Roseman is a better GM than Brandon Beane. Is Roseman coming to Buffalo? Do we get rid of Beane because another GM is better? Should the Bills think of upgrading Aaron Kromer because he is not as good as Dante Scarnecchia was for the Patriots? Sometimes I wonder about these discussions. -
I sometimes wonder about signings like this. If fans believe Beane signs guys like this in a vacuum, then I do wonder what the reason why. Ultimately, I think he doesn't and an OL coach like Aaron Kromer has input. Maybe they think he has a chance to improve.

Is McD compensating for Beane Part #2?

There is some evidence I have seen when it comes to cap allocation that may indicate Beane does want more mid-level players vs a couple of top end players. This, if true, can be argued both pro and con. Without of bunch of "mid-level" guys that the Bills always seem to have, one cannot say for sure they would have as good of a win/loss record every year. Of course, the con is (and we hear this all the time) without more "elite" players the Bills can't win it all. I tend to believe Beane believes in the mid-level theory a little more than the elite theory although he has steered to that with players like Diggs and Von. Both didn't work out so well. I'm looking forward to seeing what this year's team will ultimately achieve. Go Bills. -
NFL is considering some rule changes in 2025

That technology is a type of vision sensor (a sophisticated camera). It can be very accurate but must have a clear sight of the line and the ball. In football the players would interfere with its sight. Chips in the footballs sound simple but it's not easy. Passive (non-powered) chips would not be accurate. Powered chips would need a battery and could be used but they need to be triangulated. An array of sensors would need to be around the field and that could be done but these types of systems have to ping the sensors in the balls. Sensors like these that I have used have a response time. Typically, about 100ms (one tenth of a second). The ball could move quite a bit in that time. I'm sure higher speed ones can be found but they wouldn't be cheap. A football field is a big area. We used these sensors in much tighter spaces. If a system like this that would be accurate enough can be found I sure would love to see how it works! -
Taron Johnson. Not Jackson. Bills have 2 of the 3 starters. Need 1 more.

Josh Allen gets record contract extension $330 million

Yeah, I meant under. I corrected it. I also agree with your numbers. -
Benford and Johnson. Most GMs do.
-
Beane doesn't need to pick a CB with #30. He has 3 picks to find one in the first 2 rounds.
-
Every year during the draft there is talk about good CBs to be drafted. But there are never enough to go around. Good CBs are hard to find. Bills have 2 of the 3 covered already. Find 1 more and things are OK.
-
What a great contract for both parties. Now I see why Bernard got a little more than expected. He only gets that money if he keeps performs well.
-
I agree. Kincaid and Bishop need to step up this year and Beane needs to hit on this year's draft. Beane is top shelf in my book.

No doubt someone at OBD seen he was available, and they snatched him up for camp. IMO a vet like this is better than an UDFA. I'm interested how he fits in during the summer.
