  1. Absolutely. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2020/06/the-nfls-post-june-1-cuts-explained Free agent opportunities aside, releasing a player in the spring and designating him a post-June 1 cut can be mutually beneficial for a player and his team. It allows the player to hit the market when potential suitors still have cap room and are still looking to add free agents,
  2. Last year he had a QBR against him of 87 and a 4.5% missed tackle rating. People act like his Venus de Milo. I'm waiting to see what the contract actually looks like.
  3. I say it every year. The cap increase does not give teams (our Bills) any kind of an advantage. With the rookie and vet minimums going up every year and the increases in contract $s, it's a wash. One of the biggest ways to save on cap is drafting well. It's a big year for Beane and his boys!
  4. We have to wait. It's agent numbers. I'm going to say his 2024 cap hit will be $1.6M or so and he won't cost anything much at all to cut in 2025. I think that's ok for a 75% snap count ST player and a serviceable DB who can play multiple positions and familiar with the D.
  5. Atlanta could be a force in that weak division. They still got some money after the Cozens signing and 5 picks in the Top 79 this draft. A WR with their 8th is a big possibility now.
  6. That's exactly how I see it. He is versatile that way.
  7. Kickers are a strange group. He definitely had the yips last year but deserves a chance to show he can get it together this year. Definitely needs camp competition (same with punters). I never liked the "no competition" these guys have in camp. He must know he needs to improve, or he will be looking for a job next season. His cap hit next year isn't large.
  8. He could do that but I'm betting he knows in the long run he makes more staying in Buffalo and taking small salary cuts each year. He likes Buffalo (remember how happy he was when he bought his home) and HAS to know he signed an overpaid contract. His contract is through the 2026 season and if I was him, I would take the small pay cut. If he goes to a new team and has a bad year or gets injured again he could end up playing for less than $5M every year going forward.
  9. I think he will keep the guaranteed roster and option bonus this year and take a salary cut. He's scheduled to make $4.9M in salary. I'm guessing that will get cut to $2M or so and "maybe" some NLTBE incentives in return.
  10. Morris fills the TE3 just fine IMO. He was an ERFA so it's a cheap deal.
  11. The age thing is not as big as some make it out to be IMO. A 1st rounder has a 5-year rookie deal and then typically another 4-year deal. After 9 years in the NFL, it's a crap shoot as to what a player's worth is going forward. He would be 32 and the young guys are 30ish.
  12. During the season is one thing for injured players. Tre was fully paid for the year of his injury.
  13. None of his incentives are on the books for the 2024 season. He converted $8.645M into this incentive. So, if you want to go with what you are saying, they are all NLTBE.
  14. People are getting this all confused. Von redid this part of his contract along with the base pay cut. Spotrac has it all defined. There are no LTBE/NLTBE incentives. It's plain and simple. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/von-miller-7717/ 2024 Sack Incentives (non-cumulative) 2: $1M 4: $2.5M 6: $4M 8: $6M 10.5: $8.645M 15: $9.645M $1.5M for an AFC Championship Win + 30%+ snaps + 12 regular season snaps
  15. I don't hate the move. I will wait to see what the contract actually looks like.
  16. Agree. I said so in the post above yours. I'd add a 6th rounder QB with some potential (and some Josh type traits) for the PS too.
  17. It's fair for both sides. I like the idea that he will be the backup for 2 years running. Backup QBs do more than thrown the ball when the starter is out. I think what he brings to the table there is worth the little extra $s. Wouldn't mind a rookie to go to the PS if Beane has any leftover 6th rounders. Get the QB room stable with 3 QBs for the next few years.
  18. The contract is going to be re-wrote for these incentives. I'm POSITIVE it won't be the standard LTBE/NLTBE incentives.
  19. Come on, the incentive won't be on last year's production.
  20. Haack has a $988k cap hit with no dead money. I don't expect him to be the regular season punter.
  21. Spotrac is keeping up pretty well. It's -$16M with $10M added to the cap June 1st. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/
  22. In Bates 5 seasons in Buffalo, he has had 203 snaps at Center. That's a little over 3 games. I think us fans penciled him in as "heir apparent" Center too quickly. They know what they had with Baters at Center.
  23. If you take Tre's $10M post June savings and throw that on Von Miller's Dead cap, Von's outright cut saves about $1.5M this year and it's over. It's a possibility.
