  1. Offensive lineman look to be rising now. Risner is making a statement along with a few others. Not as bad of a class as many initially thought.
  2. Ford vs Williams for first offensive lineman taken. At least there are more options than we thought. Maybe we see a few other big uglies rise.
  3. There’s plenty of cap. It’d be a mistake to not keep a guy who has started for years in the NFL, is 26 and has a very reasonable depth contract.
  4. These QBs always rise as the draft nears. Moving to 15 is a solid area to draft. I’d be fielding as many offers to trade back as we can and see who falls to us at 9. We could use a trade back for more picks though. A lot of talent is needed.
  5. When you have Brady as your QB, it opens up the run. Doesn’t matter who they have at RB because Brady can slice up any team in the pass game so why stack the box?
  6. If the guy is a franchise QB, you will always have a chance to win. However, when you sign a Cousins or a Dalton to a large contract, it's probably better to roll the dice on the next rookie.
  7. I think you are right that it will change now. There's some really blatant calls that are missed. There are also a lot of fans that don't know the game and just scream at every call. Read any comment section ever and you'll realize how stupid people really are. Don't rely on a referee's opinion, that's clearly not good enough.
  8. The referees are a liability in the business. As a fan, who cares how the calls get made as long as they are the right ones. Human error is just too much of a factor in the outcome of the game. Fans come to see the players not the referees. A change is needed. Imagine if that call was against Buffalo in their next playoff game...
  9. I’m talking about getting rid of referrees. As long as you have humans making these calls, they will never be perfect. If you are a business owner of a huge business, you find solutions to problems, not put bandaids on them.
  10. Time to implement more technology into refereeing. Time to modernize that embarrassing area in the business.
  11. Don't need elite weapons right now, give him guys that can develop alongside him and contribute right away. This isn't Madden, elite weapons aren't always available and worth the price.
  12. He is 6'6"...contested catches are how he makes a living. Mike Evans for Tampa Bay ran a 4.53 at the combine. He had 1,500 yards receiving this past season with questionable play at QB. He can outrun a few guys with some good route running but he mostly impacts the offense by being open when he's not. Butler could be the hot name as we approach the draft.
  13. I think a Jackson is a desperate move. There are more talented players in free agency. He also would play a similar role to Foster. People will be surprised to see the contracts some of these FAs are going to get this year. Pay is rising. You might have to pay 10 million and change per year for a guy like Humohries. Duke Williams was an inexpensive first start but we may need to look into the trade pool and see who we can pry away from another team.
  14. Even if Hakeem didn’t make it to 42, I think there will be plenty of wide receivers to choose from with the depth.
  15. Now that’s interesting. You could even add another side receiver later in the draft.
  16. Christian fits the process and is very athletic. I could see us taking him at 10 if the board falls in such a way.
  17. Just depth. He can always be cut before September. We don’t know how FA is going to shake out so it’s better to keep more until you know what you have in camp.
  18. I was more refuting his claim that nobody would give anything for him.
  19. This was a long term rebuild from the beginning. If they make the playoffs next year with more young players creating a foundation of talent from drafting well, you can bet that’d be a successful year. Build more confidence and go into year four as the favorite to win the AFC east....I prefer to be optimistic. Life as pessimist must suck for those who are. I’d hate going through life as a grumpy sob haha
  20. Not so sure about this. We got a high third for Tyrod. Foles could easily get a 2nd. The demand for QB is high and there are few good rookies this year. You think a team like Jacksonville who has a lot of talent right now wants to draft a rookie? The guy has a super bowl on his resume. That means something.
  21. Why does the offense have to be completely done next season? I think the offense has a lot of potential on it already. A lot of young players who could breakout next season. Even adding just a few lineman and 1 weapon for Allen could fix the run game and allow Allen to work with the speedy young players we have. I'm sure they'll add more help though. What is a realistic improvement for the offense? Top 15? If they can reach that on offense, they could make the playoffs with solid D. Imagine a few of the youngsters on the offense making a Milano type jump in their development next season with a QB room that looks solidified for the first time in a very long time. Duke Williams is a big question mark but could be a great first pick up. What a find if he can produce anything close to what he did in the CFL.
  22. I did not say that. I said McVay was thought of as a questionable young hire. He brought a fire to LA. My main point was how can we judge the guy based on his resume alone. McVay would have sold me in ten minutes of listening to him talk. I'll make my judgement when I listen to the man talk.
