  1. Just because he’s young doesn’t mean he doesn’t mean he’s in over his head. How can anyone make a good opinion on the hire before the guy even speaks a word. McVay was thought of in the same way but then the guy opened his mouth and knowledge poured out.
  2. He is Fred Jackson JR. He checks all the boxes. He even has Jackson's stride. I'd be all for it, too far out to gauge where he'd be taken.
  3. They are clearly prioritizing a guy who has a lot of experience working directly with the quarterback. Seems like a good trait to have as a HC.
  4. Too many assets to give up for any of those guys IMO. One of them could even fall into there laps at 23. None of them are worthy of that kind of trade up for at this point, could change as we get closer to the draft. Cody Ford is an interesting prospect to me. Just don't see them giving up those assets for anything less than a Quenton Nelson type of prospect.
  5. Definitely expect them to draft one with the depth. Plenty of options but I think you could get a really good one in the second round.
  6. Who would the Texans be jumping up to 9 for where they'd be willing to give up 2 2nd round picks for?
  7. A mixture is the way to go. If you choose speed and a physical group of CBs press, you can use your taller physical targets. Speed is always needed but you need a mixture.
  8. Love the posts saying, I didn't know anything about him at the time so I was pissed. Basically saying, I looked at his stats and listened to the analysts and started yelling haha. So was it really your opinion or someone else's opinion you just regurgitated without even watching the kid play?
  9. I never said they were near Nelson and I stated in an earlier post that they’d need to be elite like Nelson was to be picked in the top 10-20. i wasn’t dating any of these guys stray that level. I was simply saying that RT is worth taking in the top ten when the talent is there. I fully expect Buffalo to draft defense based on the talent at the top of the class ATM:
  10. I don’t know about that. Dawkins has more experience and it’s probably smarter to wait and make sure the rookie can manage himself at the pro level by playing him in the right side. They will make him earn it. We will see how things shake out.
  11. Two very good tackles would keep the outside rush in check and we could use the tight end more as a receiving threat for Allen. Get a guy that’s a mismatch weapon and give Allen a nice option to throw to. We need to be able to throw over the middle of the field better and a good tight end can fill that need. I think Buffalo can realisticly add two starters on the line in FA. If they draft a tackle, they are probably starting him at RT next year with Dawkins at LT still. If Dawkins bounces back and has a great year with more talent on the line as a whole, would you switch the guy we draft over the next season? I doubt it. Then, he can become just a RT that you drafted in the first round. I think the point should just be to bring in another solid tackle.
  12. I just believe more teams have 2 pass rushing ends. That can disrupt a QBs play. If I want to maximize Allen’s in the pocket passing, then I’ll take a great RT in the first. It’s like you said with Nelson, you take a great prospect like that.
  13. Valid points. However, I think it’s very difficult to know if a guy can’t play left tackle in college. You see so many players who can develop into that role. Glenn and Peters alone are guys that we’ve developed into left tackles but maybe were better suited for other positions around draft time. I agree with giving the center position, it holds a lot of importance. I might just be one of the few that find the right tackle to also be really important. There are a lot of great pass rushers that our right tackles have to play. If Allen wants any time in the pocket next season, Buffalo will need to see a massive upgrade at that spot. Allen got hurt from a hit by a rusher that our RT let by. Isn’t that the whole point to having a solid LT, so they don’t get hurt. To me, RT is an underrated position as more teams look to improve their pass rushers.
  14. So you’d be against grabbing a center and a guard in the first round too under this logic. It’s not our problem that they’d let go of a top RT (if indeed he is one). I haven’t watched him play enough but you’re going to tell me in a league that passes the ball a lot and good defenses have multiple pass rushers a team doesn’t value a RT? I find that hard to believe given what we’ve seen at RT the last few years. A swing tackle can can be a backup to a LT. That’s what they are used for. Mills has had wrecked games this year for Allen. He’s given up plenty of pressures, sacks and hits on the QB. That’d be really valuable to stop. Remember the cowboys dominat o line play that they invested multiple 1st round picks in and it made everyone better. I think that’s something to learn from. Keep guys off of Allen and we can bring in cheap RB play. Invest in the lines. It’s worth it. I’m all in with the BPA and if that’s a RT, you have to yes.
  15. The value of the pick changes every year. It depends on the talent available, what they are trading up for and a few other factors. I don’t think you’d get that type of trade this year with few QB prospects and the talent level being fairly even from where we are in the first round to where Oakland is picking later. Youd still get a sizable haul but it depends on what teams are jumping up for. Last year’s trades had high values because of the high valued QB prospects that teams were willing to pay more for. I don’t see those prospects in this class. There are plenty of other QBs that could be available for the teams looking for a QB to hold the fort for a year instead of giving away an arm and a leg for an ok prospect. That being said, if a team falls in love with a guy and he slips down past the WB needy teams ahead of us, we could be in business.
  16. Except you can cover up inexperience with strong veteran play. You just have to have the right kind of veterans in the building. Jumps from our other younger players that have seen action is also what they are relying on. Allen, Edmunds...all of those guys you expect to take a step forward. More assets now is a good thing, it quickens the process. You just have to be a patient fan in terms of development and not want them out the door after a handful of games. More talent under the rookie cap please. It builds up a foundation of inexpensive talent. As we add more talent to the team, rookies will play less right out of the gate allowing them to develop behind the scenes somewhat. We have to reach that point first where we have that much talent, we aren’t there yet. Take the pick this year.
  17. You expect someone to sign up for his contract and low production with big drops and no motor. He’s not a desirable asset anymore. He’s a liability. Any team can find another player in FA or the draft and get better production out of him for cheaper. I think it’s safe to say you’ll be disappointed.
  18. Why? Guards and centers go in the draft in the first round all the time. Why can’t a good right tackle? An improvement to the offensive line is worth a 1st round pick no matter what the position is IMO. A solid starting right tackle in the first round would be a million times better than the revolving door that is Mills.
  19. While it's not cheap to trade up for a QB, at this point, I don't see any QB that a team would want to trade up for. Remember the EJ Manuel class...I think this one is similar. There are enough veterans (Foles, Bridgewater, Fitz, etc.) to put a bandaid on their situations for a year and kick it back until next year when there are better prospects. Players can certainly jump up the boards before the draft but with Herbert going back to school, it's a weak class. No team will be overspending for a QB like last year. Those were extremely talented players and was a great QB class. This year falls very short of that.
  20. I like the tight end prospects in this class, perhaps a round 2 option. I doubt we pull the trigger on a first round receiver unless we are able to trade back. Way too early to work out the scenarios of who we will likely pick in the first round. We have plenty of needs and even needs at the positions of strength in the draft. Many players will rise in the next several months to go into the top ten. It happens every year.
  21. Agreed. Defensive tackle is a tough position to dominate in year 1. Playing next to Kyle surely helped.
  22. High energy 6’6” 340 lb player. I’m interested haha. I think fits perfectly here. He’s great for a rotation. Gets proper rest during the game so he can stay effective and bring that high energy on more plays. Other guys feed off of guys who bring that little bit of extra to the game.
  23. Allen was hurt for part of the year and our offense was a different animal with him, especially after returning from injury. He’s a project player that’s shown he can play, just needs more time and continuity. Do people expect every player they bring in to be a HOFer? I don’t understand. No GM/Coach is perfect. Even the best miss on first round picks and free agent acquisitions. They’ve made some mistakes but what did people expect our record to be this year with youth everywhere and Wood and Incognito randomly deciding to leave. With those guys third year, our record could’ve been a lot different. Patience. I believe if we didn’t have the drought and we were in the same scenario, fewer fans would be pounding the table for them to be fired. It’s time to turn to continuity instead of hitting the eject button too soon. The duo earned more time after taking a less than talented group to the playoffs last year. Exciting offseason for us coming up, big strides can be made in year 2 with Josh Allen playing QB.
