  1. It wouldn't be a Buffalo Bills board if there wasn't an overreaction every other post.
  2. They aren't the same. As a coach, you have to have the talent to back those aggressive decisions and we haven't been there over the last two years offensively. When you struggle to put up points and your defense has made turnovers and big stops recently, you tend to rely on your defense more. It's easy to look at teams like the Steelers and all of these other high powered offensive teams and say why don't we play that aggressive. You have to have the talent to play that aggressive or you can just as easily be leaving points out on the field. I believe his decision making will change as our offense continues to improve. It's just not as black and white as being aggressive or conservative.
  3. Either you don't watch many games or you don't understand the game. That's what this post tells me. A fan that screams one general stat like that with no breakdown of how or why it is that way is a pointless post. Especially with a stat like completion percentage which has so many factors that go along with it. His adjusted completion percentage is out there by the way which takes away those drops and plays where he was flushed out by immediate pressure and had to throw it away. Educate yourself and watch some film too.
  4. He's a complimentary piece in a wide receiver unit. He's not a go to guy. He's not going to win those man to man matchups all day like you are saying. I think adding another receiver ahead of Jones will make his life easier. Hoping he steps up in his third year having a full offseason with Allen. Having Foster, Jones and Mckenzie looks like a good complimentary unit of receivers. A top target is needed though.
  5. It's hard to judge a coach for the in-game decisions he makes with a young team with limited talent. Next year really is a monster year for this team and its growth.
  6. Zay has been playing against number 1 corners which he cannot beat at this point. When he isn't the one drawing that attention, I think we will see him back to being more productive. He's a slot guy. His talent lies with his route running abilities underneath.
  7. When you have a QB in place, it's a lot easier to keep building. They had a solid young core as well. We were in a different situation than they were when Lynn took over. We needed a new QB and the majority of the contributors on the team were older. We had very few young players that were difference makers. We have many more now thankfully haha.
  8. Daboll is going to have to be creative with basically no running game to lean on. Who would you expect him to be on?
  9. Lighter than you'd expect for a number 1 receiver. Gilmore is physical has battled much bigger receivers. Can Foster show he has the ability to play through press with a physical corner. I've seen him blow by guys but can he win a physical battle? That will be interesting to watch.
  10. Will be a true test for Foster. He's a lighter receiver, can he play physically with Gilmore especially if he presses?
  11. When you give a great QB a first round wide receiver and they play well together, you start playing a little better.
  12. He is a handful for lineman and when paired up with other great players he can show out. However, when he is the lead dog he struggles a bit. He gets the extra attention from the line and tight ends. It's harder to get home when you are the main player the defense has game planned for. I think for what he is paid, he is worth every penny. Edge rushers who get double digit sacks year in and year out go for a lot more than he is making. Again, if they gave him a stud DT who could penetrate and stunt with, he'd benefit greatly. Kyle Williams is looking to retirement at some point. He is a great number 2 rusher for a team but needs a lead artist IMO.
  13. Agreed. If I'm drafting a defensive lineman first in this draft, it's to play with him not replace him with. Grab some young pass rushers to learn from Hughes and Williams and Alexander. Hughes and Williams have been fun this season with Zo in there too but we need to invest too.
  14. I like Matt. I think he is the perfect process player. If you watch Allen's sneak, he jumps up and down in celebration. That's the kind of support I want from my backup QB. Plus he played well in his only game.
  15. Look at what Nick Chubb has done for the Browns this season and tell me we should spend 17 million a season for a running back. Rookie running backs can be some of the most immediate impactful players. There were a lot of great ones last year. We have extra picks in the 4th and 5th rounds. I almost expect one to be drafted between the 3-5 rounds. Le'veon should go to Indy. He'd be perfect for Luck.
  16. Maybe they felt these were the right "process" guys and made the slight move up to make sure they got them. As for Zay, he is a slot receiver who has been through too many QBs here. He was playing much better when he wasn't the number 1. An offseason with Allen could do him wonders. His maturity level has gone up this season and so has his production. He hasn't been perfect by any means but he's shown progress.
  17. Not as simple as you make it sound. Say we drafted JuJu. There's no guarantee that he does anything here. Same with all of those players. There are so many other factors that come into play. Scheme, locker room vibe, leadership around the young players, talent around these players...the list goes on. Finding the right fit is a crap shoot in the draft. There isn't a team in the NFL that have perfect drafts year in and year out. Underperforming players can be a product of their own personal problems as well. It's just not that simple. Many players in FA go from one team to another and look far worse than they did for the previous team and vise versa.
  18. Why not go for it there? And Allen's development is WAYYYYYYYY more important than winning one game, that was a joke right? If that regime wants to be successful, Allen's development is priority number 1 and it's not even close. Beane said it himself, you can't just trot all your young guys out there to start the season or it will be a complete mess. Despite it starting poorly, this team has been fairly competitive losing a couple games by just a few points. With so many young players, you can't just throw everything at them all at once. You have to add things in a little bit at a time. Many fans that have screamed for McDermott to be more aggressive should be happy about that call. It didn't work but you have to practice it in a live game where it actually matters. Allen is now to the point where the staff trusts him to make a play. He has very little help which makes McDermott's decision very hard sometimes. I'm sure there are many times where he's wanted to go for it but hasn't because the offense just wasn't good enough to do so yet. You can be aggressive with a really good offense but it's a very fine line. You could just as easily just give away a ton of points as well. I expect with a more talented offense next year that they will continue to add more aggressive calls.
  19. Completely depends on the situation. Lynn was facing a KC team that scores a lot of points. The chargers have a great QB and weapons around him, why let it go to overtime when you have a 50/50 chance to end the game in your favor right there. As for Vrable, to throw the ball when you have Henry and a bulldozing offensive line is just mind-boggling. Similar call to letting Russell Wilson toss the rock at the 1 yard line instead of giving it to Lynch.
  20. I agree with that. A lot of fans look at the needs and want to fill them all in the draft, doesn't work that way. Unless you are looking for a QB, always go BPA. Free agency is there to fill in the gaps. Plus, a team can always trade to fill in other needs.
  21. It's not as simple as we missed on player X. Team/scheme fit and opportunity are overlooked factors for certain players. What happens to Brady's career if Bledsoe doesn't get hurt?
  22. Things get added in with time. You just need to have a little patience. You act like Josh doesn't have coaches around him to help him along. A veteran QB to learn from is a luxury not a need. Allen plays the game differently and I think the coaches have to help him adjust to what he does best. If that is scrambling out of the pocket and making wild throws down the field like Rodgers, then so be it. Daboll seems to be doing a better job each week with play calling. He has to keep it mostly conservative with the lack of talent and a rookie QB, he's in a tough spot. Can't wait to see what he can do with a talented offense.
  23. Both of those guys were number 1 wideouts on their team. Alabama runs most of the time and don't utilize wide receivers past the number 1 guy on a consistent basis. Foster gets behind in the depth chart and they don't throw the ball...tough combo for me to want to sign their if I'm a top recruit as a wide receiver. I'd much rather go to a team that primarily throws the ball and uses it's 2nd and 3rd receivers and so on.
  24. From his previous statements in some other situations, he's all about him. And I meant that everyone in a business like that must always think about themselves in an independent way to a certain degree. You have to have your own back but Ramsey takes it too far. Just needs to stop saying too much and play the game. He hasn't earned the right to chirp. He isn't a leader out there. You can chirp if you are a leader, like Ray Lewis. He chirped a lot but people actually wanted to listen. With Ramsey, they are just waiting for him to say another eyebrow-raising comment.
