  1. His chin looks a lot thinner than even the beginning of the season. Did he have work done?
  2. You know...everyone that wants to hang people out to dry on this and want to throw rocks at the organization are presuming all this information was readily available weeks and weeks ago. The Bills were trying to piece things together based on very limited information. Likely they put everything in the hands of their attorney who would best know how to navigate the legalities of the situation. No one knows what the Plaintiff's attorney was willing to say or not say when contacted by the Bill's attorney. I'm not a lawyer, but I would presume that an attorney would want to hold their cards close to the vest until after they file their civil suit. That way, things can't be discredited in advance of the filing. (Quite frankly, I'm still wondering why the plaintiff's attorney even contacted the Bills to begin with. What was the point?) So...until the filing of the civil suit, all you did have were allegations by a victim. Yes, what was released in the press indicates something violent happened, but it doesn't prove who did it. It alleges who did it. So...the Bills waited to take any action against Araiza until they learned of the specifics when they read the 11 page complaint. Once they did, they took the appropriate action and, to my mind, answered all the questions they needed to answer. It's done. Over. The Bills are moving on, and so should we (despite the local media hacks wanting to continue to cast aspersions). And speaking of Haack (see what I did there?), Beane so much as admitted that was likely a mistake in judgment. I think they will be fine, though. There are good, capable punters out there with experience holding the football and they will find one. The criticism aimed at McD for calling Matt "a good kid" is ridiculous. The team member he knew at the time he made those comments was to him "a good kid." We as fans likely thought the same. Until the revelation and the suit. Now...????? So...c'mon man...
  3. Disagree. Reason is a big part of this. How do you move forward as a team with something like this lingering? Not all the facts are known and it will take time for all of the facts to be revealed. The Bills did not have that time.
  4. The punter from Northwestern. He's pinned Nebraska back all game with kicks inside the 5 with nice back spin!
  5. I too want to see the legal process play out, but the Bills do not have the luxury of time. The season starts in two weeks. This will not be resolved legally in two weeks. The Bills cannot afford to have this distraction ongoing as the season approaches and goes on. What you are suggesting is that the Bills utilize two roster spots on punters...one to be active on game day and Araiza. Roster spots are much too precious and at the end of the day, hopefully this team will not be punting that much during the season. They need to do what is right, in the long run, but what is right currently is the good of the team and those 53 other players who will make that team.
  6. They will have no choice but to release him because the court system is not going to move that fast. That can't go into the season with him as an active member of the team. It's too much of a distraction and a huge cloud hanging over the team.
  7. You can't draw that conclusion. Stout from Penn State was the first punter taken by the Ravens. I actually thought he was a better prospect due to hang time and pinning teams inside the 20. I'm not certain who the second punter was (the punter from Georgia maybe??)...but teams may have preferred hang time and holding experience to distance in his case as well.
  8. Agree with your take. McD can't say anything that can be construed that he has already made any judgments or conclusions. It's a no win situation for him and the team until things get played out through the court of law. I think he's likely angry that he and the team have been put in this situation, especially right before the start of the season. If it's not possible for Araiza to be placed on a Commissioner's exempt list...similar to what they did with Dodson...it would not surprise me if they let Araiza go to eliminate the distraction and cloud that is hanging over the team. There's no time to just wait this out.
  9. Now we know how Denver felt last week.
  10. But he is down with a knee injury. Dang!
  11. I saw that as well. He's just not good.
  12. No one is lining up right. This backup oline is brutal. Only Spencer Brown will make the team.
  13. I agree. They talked about the lightning delay and Araiza. Nothing more. On all the NFL shows etc throughout the day on ESPN and NFL network, they mentioned the allegations and moved on without comment. As they should since there is no more known today than last night. Let it play out in the legal system. If the Bills take any action before then, it's there decision.
  14. I had to turn it off with Graham touting that Bills fans are universally against Araiza due to social media and radio call ins. That just means the folks on that side are more vocal. It means nothing more.
  15. I watched Kumerow closely on STs during the rebroadcast of the Bills/Denver game and thought he constantly overran the play and generally looked out of position.
  16. On One Bills Live today they had Greg Cosell in who analyzed the tape of the Bronco game. He said that Howard was excellent in the blocking game in addition to his TD catch.
  17. Your point is well taken. They have had more success treating these injuries with earlier weight bearing activities rather than complete rest. I have faith in the Bills medical staff, so it will all depend on Boettger. Let's assume at the very least he doesn't come back this year. In addition to Hart and Van Roten, according to Tasker and Brown on One Bills Live, they are also high on Alex Anderson the undrafted free agent.
  18. Remember too that Ike Boettger is on IR. When he comes back, likely whoever takes Cody's spot will be demoted.
  19. The only ST player I can see being replaced is Kumerow. I think one of the reasons they sat Jones, Neal and Matekevich was to try some of these younger guys out and see if they can work. Hodgins can make the contested catches...something McD wants to see. Working Hodgins now into ST, I could see them keeping him as the 6th WR in place of Kumerow.
  20. I liked him at Coastal Carolina and hoped the Bills would draft him.
  21. Was watching Giants on NFLN. NBC in WNY has gymnastics. As to blackout rules, Bills game yesterday was on local affiliate AND the NFLN. I expected it to be blacked out locally...but it was on. It was also the Bills feed with Tasker and Catalano.
  22. Just switched to the Ravens v Cardinal game on Fox. Not crazy about the Cards black jerseys and black helmets.
