  1. This is why I don't put it all on Josh. Yes...there have been games where he plays poorly, but largely it's not always his fault. BTW, it was 2021 when we were 6 and 1 in one score games. In 2020 we were actually 2 to the good in one score games.
  2. Why is it on Josh? When you look at many of those losses, it was the defense that folded after Josh got us the lead. Yesterday....I will discount because it was just a freakish day and Josh had little help from his oline and his receivers were gassed.
  3. This just started in 2021. Between 2018 and 2020, it was a wash between winning and losing 1 score games. In 2021, our wins were big and our losses were close, except for the Colts game. Same for 2022 thus far. In looking at those games though, it seemed to come down to freakish plays (Josh slipping on the Titan goal line) or individual players missing a tackle or being out of position. I don't see it as an overall team mindset where the team doesn't have the right mentality. As to Reid...over the same time period 2021-2022, KC has won 7 and lost 5 one score games. So...KC has had more 1 score games than the Bills over that time period. I'm tossing yesterday's loss out for being the perfect storm against the Bills. In truth, I'd love for the Bills to have less close games and simply score a lot of points. Let's just see how the rest of this year plays out.
  4. I stand corrected. I'm certain I saw last night the opening odds were Ravens -3.
  5. I thought it was Ravens -3. Did I see that incorrectly?
  6. My goodness. One loss, in freakish circumstances, and everyone wants to point fingers and throw all the bums out! I would wager there are not many coaches who would not have gotten blown out in this game with the players we had to field in this game. The one good thing about this loss is no one is talking about the Bills today. They are talking about the Dolphins. We are not favored on the road this week. They do better as underdogs. Get healthy and back to work.
  7. In light of Benford's injury, we are very thin at corner until Tre gets back. I would expect them to perhaps sign more DBs to their practice squad for the time being, but no more than that.
  8. I was thinking the same, unless they were concerned with putting Cam in as a safety. Bates was head compounded by the heat. Kumerow had an ankle and Benford the hand.
  9. There is truth to this. In the first two games, Josh was protected. Yesterday, not so much. We do need a running game, especially for games like this. Our receivers were gassed yesterday when normally the Bills are getting chunk plays from those receivers. Josh had to wait on his receivers yesterday more than normal. A lot of the talking heads nationally are saying that the Bills are putting too much on Josh. Yesterday, was a freakish day, with the Bills already banged up. I'd like to see the Bills get healthy this week and also work on establishing more of a running game, so that we can have a two-pronged approach moving forward.
  10. Rex Ryan was just talking about that on Get Up...that the Dolphins do have the best home field advantage and he pointed out the sidelines. The opposing team sits in the sun the entire time even when they're resting...so your body never really can recover after being on the field.
  11. I think that the OP is giving an objective take. We were missing half our starting D and players were dropping like flies left and right on offense. Having said that the Bills didn't make the plays when they could have. Our dline did not pressure Tua and he made the throws he needed to. Our oline could not protect Josh and he was under constant pressure. Did the heat affect the Bills quality of play? Likely yes. Still with all the adversity the Bills only lost by 2. But a play here and there not made...we could and should have won.
  12. So they blow out two good teams and lose by two under extreme conditions...and you want to say they're a bad team?
  13. Considering we were missing 5 starters on defense, a starting center...then the rest of the oline goes down to heat exhaustion or injury...and we onlly lose by two...I'm not mad either.
  14. They need to move Bates to center. Van Roten is hurting the offense.
  15. To me, that's the worst case scenario. Best case is we win with all these injuries.
  16. Thanks for posting this. Very informative.
  17. I wonder if they'll move Basham to the inside, since they're more concerned with pass than run?
  18. Are you really this irrational, or are you just trying to irritate me? You have not presented reasonable arguments. It has nothing to do with homerism. We simply disagree. Let's agree on this: 1. We both liked Blackshear and wanted to keep him. Whether he amounts to a featured RB in the NFL remains to be seen. 2. The same remains for Cook. We'll see. 3. Neither of us is McD or Beane, and we only see the game as fans. 4. Go Bills!
  19. Okay...they looked as good as Blackshear did in preseason. Or is that argument only valid with Blackshear. Both CBs drafted in this draft are starting. It is not a thin position. We've got better CB depth than any team in the league. Cook did not sit behind, I think you're talking about White. They split carries. Both backs were used by Georgia, rather effectively, I might add. The speed of the game in the Pros is faster. RBs need to learn quite a lot when they make the jump. He's had a handful of carries thus far...and you want to judge his career on that?
  20. And one pass for 7 yards in the second game of the season. As to the rest of your post...Moss and Cook are good backs. Cook just needs more time to learn. Blackshear looked great in preseason but that was against backups, so you can really gauge. He may well end up being a good back. CB and LB in the second? We drafted two of each and those 4 players are looking very good right now, so your argument is lost on me. I trust Beane and McD more than the average fan. Teller was a mistake that they readily admit. I think they do know how to draft, though as evidenced by the end result.
  21. They have to sign the PS players to their active roster.
  22. Playing behind backup oline.
  23. I think McD pulling the team into a huddle at the end of the first quarter was spot on. Settled the team down, getting them to focus on the fundamentals.
  24. They liked Quinton Morris better and Sweeney, when he does play, plays speciall teams.
  25. Someone else posted this info up the thread and I forgot about those injuries. I stand corrected.
