Bart Scott said this morning on First Take, that the players all do a baseline concussion test prior to the season. He said he made sure he did poorly on the baseline test so that he could easily pass it if he had to take it to rule out concussion. So the protocols can be manipulated. The players who watched the game all knew Tua was likely concussed last week. As Bart said, you don't shake your head getting up from a back injury.

Thank you. I missed the entire context which makes a huge difference.

I think he said it after the half. I'll have to watch the replay to see if I heard him right.

Didn't Michaels relate that when McDaniel was talking to Tua as he was being carted off, Tua asked him what happened? Did anyone else catch that?
-
Yes it was. Now that he's no longer playing, the Stanford guy is coming out.
-
That was Richard Sherman...and yes he said it outloud.
-
You go Richard Sherman!

I lived in Erie for 28 years before moving back to WNY. The Colony used to have about 20 folks that would come for Bills games. I went a couple of times, but at that time smoking was allowed in bars and restaurants and I would feel physically ill from attending so I stopped going. It wouldn't surprise me that it became inactive over time.

I don't know how you can prepare for 112 degree heat index. On a short week it likely wasn't feasible to go down early to get acclimated. When NE went down early it was the first game of the season...much more time to prepare. From what I heard from the players and coaches, none of them was using the weather as an excuse. They know they didn't make the plays when they needed to. Having said all this, with the higher temperatures this planet is experiencing, playing conditions this extreme...that can adversely affect player health...should be avoided. People die of heat exhaustion and heat stroke under lesser conditions.

This does not explain why Josh is responsible for all the losses. Last I heard football is a team sport.

Time for Beane to "break glass in case of emergency"?

Neal did play defense in the preseason. Because of the extreme heat in Miami, McD didn't want to play him more than on STs. McD said that in today's presser. The extreme heat altered a lot of things in that game. -
Cover 1 Breakdown of Dolphins game on D...Dolphins used similar concepts shown by Tennessee with some tweaks to attack Bills, Backups hurt us on some plays, coaches could have helped a little more(Mostly favorable review of play of Bills D all in all)

That is correct and Jaquon did not get deep enough at safety. I don't understand why Von Miller dropped into coverage and we only rushed 3. Either the wrong defense was called or it was poor communication. -
Bills signed OL Justin Murray (previously on Cardinals). Doyle to IR. Per buffalobills.com https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-sign-former-cardinals-ol-justin-murray-place-ot-tommy-doyle-on-ir

Thanks for the clarification. I know that if a team's communication system isn't working the other team can't use theirs. It seemed absurd that if a team chose not to use something, it meant the other team couldn't use it either.

It was just discussed on One Bills Live, that the Bills were not allowed to use their cooling benches because Miami opted not to use theirs (competitive advantage). Tasker agreed but said he needed to do some research. Is anyone familiar with this?
-
I heard Tasker say that today but Josh was pretty certain in his comment that he couldn't. I guess when in doubt...don't. Coaches should set him straight if he's wrong. I just looked it up. He can still spike the ball as long as he does it immediately. So would it then be a judgment call by the ref?

Bobby Hart likely off suspension.

Fractured hand. McD said he'll have surgery and will be out a couple of weeks "give or take." -
No. After the muff, if Allen tries to spike the ball it's intentional grounding (Jamis Winston did that in NO) and loss of down. That's why Josh tried to make the play with Diggs. McKenzie didn't think he could get out of bounds. After he was down he ran to get the ball to the referee but was held by the Dolphin player to prevent him from getting there, so they ran out of time.

Von Miller said in his presser that these kinds of games can have positive team effects.
