This is a good point. I think someone else said this earlier, but how many times have we seen apparent studs playing to win a Super Bowl...on a stacked team...look even close to that when they're playing on a team not so talented. Addiitionally, all these big signings for big money are by teams that don't have much talent to begin with. So they need to sign free agents. That's why they are paying so much for mediocre talent.

The extensions for Shakir and Bernard are only costing $2.5M and $3.5M against the cap for 2025, so I would expect Rousseau's contract to be structured similarly, so you are likely correct.

It was mouse McNally. As I recall, the bills brought in other linemen in free agency and paid them huge bucks. When Peters asked for a commensurate contract, the Bills balked, leading to the rancor and eventual trade. The Bills management at the time totally blew it.

Perhaps they can free up money with restructures or extensions. It all depends on which FAs they want to go after.
