  1. Good points. I think the "whatever it takes" bunch are so starved for a franchise QB they say "just go for it" regardless of cost. Those traded picks will be long forgotten if the QB they trade up to pick becomes "the franchise". History tells us this is unlikely as there are roughly 12 QB's in the league that most of us could agree are the franchise type. At least 4 of those guys were drafted more that 12 years ago.
  2. I would say you have these two scenarios flip-flopped as far as which is worse. If the Bills get Allen at least they have a guy that we'll all say can potentially be coached up in spite of his accuracy problems. The second scenario means all the eggs are in the AJ basket, which might turn out OK but there is no alternative if it doesn't.
  3. Why are you still clinging to the 2020 second round pick? Just throw it in to seal the deal.
  4. Then let him do his job. Have your say when the draft is done.
  5. Uh .... maybe the Colts didn't want to move that far back.
  6. Why would the Browns allow the Giants and Jets to determine who their potential franchise QB is going to be? As a GM you are charged with making decisions that effect the trajectory of the franchise. Waiting to pick a QB at #4 is a weak move.
  7. So I'm starting to sense that you preferred Flutie to Johnson.
  8. Me: Oh, magic 8 ball, will the Bills regret not moving up to #3? Magic 8 ball: Ask again in 2 years.
  9. I think most of us on this board feel that the Bills moved to 12 with every intention of moving even higher. If the right deal is there at a palatable price I think Beane takes it. If the Bills end up picking at 12 then I think that would be considered plan B at OBD.
  10. I think there's gonna be 2 or 3 teams doing this. Hopefully the Bills are not one of them.
  11. Why not just cut the tree down? That's what Rexy Branryan would have done.
  12. For me it's absolutely the trade up into the first round for John McCargo. That guy did less than nothing. 32 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 5 years.
