  1. The only rule I would love to see the NFL adopt is one the CFL has. No more fair catches instead you have to give the receiving player 5 yards to make a play or its a 10 yard penalty. It makes for some exciting returns.
  2. Maybe if they start going for some big plays more often it would help. You can't always try to go down field in 10 plays. The Bills schedule is harder in the second half. They need to keep their foot on the gas on offense.
  3. Part of the reason for the low INTs is they have lowered the amount of high risk deep ball plays. At some point they need to be able to score on big plays. I think McDermott is afraid to let Allen loose cause of fear of turnovers.
  4. Its been awhile but ever since the Pats game they made Allen more of a game manager. That's probably why. I would love to see more big plays from the offense. I think McDermott is afraid of turnovers so it doesn't happen much.
  5. So far it has worked but not so sure it will continue to work against teams that have good offenses. At some point you have to take chances to win in this league. The best teams always do. I am not talking about going for it in 4th and 1 in the other teams end. I would love to see more big yard plays. Most teams don't try to score with 10 play drives all the time. My worry is it won't change cause it doesn't fit into McDermott's ball control philosophy. Just once it would be nice to see a modern offense in Buffalo. You can't rely on a good defense forever cause history has shown its hard to keep a good defense together for a long period of time.
  6. Why is it when any one posts anything that has anything negative to say about some issues with the Bills its always blown off. Too many homers here that just think 6-2 ,6-2,6-2
  7. They better learn to stop the run otherwise Chubb is going to have a field day.
  8. One team didn't have to come from behind to beat those same teams. The Pats dominated those teams while the Bills offense struggled to put up points
  9. They are conservative in that they rarely go for the big play that the good teams do.
  10. No it's not. Then again Bills fans always have low expectations for their team. Having no INTs and just making the playoffs is good enough.
  11. Its funny when Tyrod was here that wasn't good enough but with Allen its good enough.
  12. Its not just Daboll, its the conservative approach of McDermott. Ever since the game against the Pats they have turned him into a game manager. The numbers you show prove that. Great QBs have to yards to go with those numbers. Until McDermott realizes your offense needs to do more then just enough, Allen will be JAG.
  13. That's all on the coach and his complimentary conservative approach. Ever since the Pats game they have decided to make Allen a game manager when instead they should let him loose. Seen as this season is about growth, let him loose. It works in the 4th qtr why not do it all game.
  14. Its great they won and yes they are 6-2 but their run d still got gashed. Once again they wait til the 4th qtr to let Allen loose and make plays. If they want to do more then make the playoffs they need to let Allen loose for the whole game. Stop being so conservative.
  15. Its funny cause Seattle had no problem adding him to their team. You keep trusting the process.
  16. This season they are doing a lot better then expected so they should have added help for their offense. Gordon was free for the taking. He may have helped, he may not have. Why not take a chance. Another WR to go with Brown might help stretch the field. Instead they didn't do anything. So far this regime has proven they can build a defense but have no idea how to build an offense or get the most out of what they have. Good coaches find ways to make an offense fit their QB. Instead in Buffalo they turned a mobile QB into a pocket passer and so far it's not been going very well.
  17. The reason I said I need to see it, is it would a long way to show me Allen is the guy. Its not that I don't want to see them win, I want to the offense improve a lot. Cause up this point they are trending in the wrong direction. Scoring only 19 points a game isn't good enough. The defense isn't always going to hold teams to 17 points.
  18. I think the reason for the obsession with passing yards is it shows improvement from Allen. Like some one else said, Allen wasn't drafted to be a game manager. I watch other games a lot and for some reason Allen and the offense struggles much more then most. The worst part is they are playing some of the worst teams in the league this season. They shouldn't be struggling as much as they do. As for what I expect, I need to see a big improvement today. He has to throw for over 220 yards, have a completion percentage of 70 and 2 passing TDs. I don't care if his short passes have improved, for me that's not good enough.
  19. They are still fun to watch. You probably only looked at the final score and moved on. Last night they played a good game but hit a couple of posts. The only goal was a fluke. Next weekend I see them possibly winning both as they match up well with Tampa. They may not win every game but at least their style of play is fun to watch. A lot different then last season. They are more exciting then the Bills on offense. The Bills would be more fun to watch if they let Allen run out of the pocket to make plays.
  20. Why shouldn't strength of schedule be taken into affect? The 49ers defense should be ranked a lot higher then Buffalos cause of who they have played. I know a lot of you always want to put a positive spin on anything Bills but you can't throw out DVOA cause of they play the defense near the bottom
  21. They blew their chance to help this season with passing on Gordon. While he may have issues, he would have been worth taking a flyer on. Anything would this offense.
  22. Its always next year for Bills fans. There is no guarantee they play better next year. IMO when you are 5-2 and have one of the best records in the AFC, you go for it. Claiming Gordon would have helped their offense. Of course it all depends on Allen and so far he hasn't been good enough.
  23. We get it, you and most Bills fans only look at the box scores for the Sabres. They have played really well compared to last seasons team. As far as Allen goes he needs to be much better. He's still one of the worst passers in the league. If was even average they wouldn't have had to come back against the teams they did. You like most Bills homers will defend your QB til the cows come home. Can't say anything negative about him.
  24. They did play very well tonight. They are still learning this new system and there will be hiccups. I expect a good showing tomorrow and a win. Fans seem to give up on them too soon. They are playing much better then last season and will be in the playoff mix all year
  25. I am guessing you don't believe in any of the stats that are out there that show how good or bad your team is really doing. I believe this team isn't as good as their record indicates. Their offense needs to be much better if they want to get anywhere.
