  1. That's what the Bills defense should do on Sunday but I don't see them doing it. For some reason they don't blitz a lot. If their secondary is so good they should have no reason not to blitz.
  2. To be closer to the middle of the pack. Considering who they have played their offense should be much better then it is. The biggest problem is trying to make Allen a pocket passer, when he should be more like Murray. Let him run around and make plays. Build an offense around that instead of of this short passing offense that he has trouble excelling in.
  3. I agree with what you say about the offense not growing. You have to realize that the majority of the posters on this board are old school when defenses dominated and 17-14 scores where the norm. Now you need to usually score close to 21 points or more to win. It is why I keep saying to let Allen loose and stop making him a pocket passer. Let him run around and make plays. He will never be that QB with high completion percentage. He is best when he runs around making plays. His too best games last season that is how he played.
  4. That is why I think they should just him loose like he played last season against the Vikings. Trying to make him a pocket passer is not helping him at all. Since this is still a building year and they do play a bad team in Washington next, let him loose. He may not have it but making him a game manager is not helping him. I don't see that happening cause their coach believes in complimentary football which goes against what Allen is good at. He is best when playing hero ball.
  5. Its funny. Last year when DVOA had the Bills defense ranked as one of the best, everyone agreed. This year they rank near the bottom and now most think data like this means little. Those of you upset or disagreeing with the ranking probably come from a time when this stuff didn't exist. So all that mattered was the end score and if they won. Doesn't matter how they got there or if how bad they looked.
  6. If they keep making him a game manager its not going to help him. Seen as they don't think this is their year, they should let Allen loose. Let him play like he was at the end of last year. The worst that happens is he throws more interceptions. Maybe he will learn from it but if not you at least know what you have.
  7. I don't see that ever changing til McD gets rid of his Rockpile days philosophy and joins the modern NFL
  8. A good to great QB will make the offense better regardless of the talent around him. The Bills best bet is to let Allen be Allen and hope for the best. The best offenses in this league are able to score in bunches. Something the Bills haven't been able to do in a long time. Part of me thinks it will never happen cause the coach likes a more conservative approach.
  9. I agree with the development part for both coaches but the one big difference is one plays a system that works in the modern day and the other believes in Rockpile days football with his conservative approach to offense.
  10. Good luck winning a lot of games in this league playing that way. Your offense has to be able to score in bunches sometimes and I have my doubts Allen or the offense will ever be able to do it.
  11. Yeah let him loose and I think the results aren't going to much better. I don't think Allen will ever be a great pocket passer or great at reading defense. He plays his best when he runs around. The thing that scares me about that is one of these times he will be running and get destroyed. Its happened once against the Pats it will happen again. When guys get a chance for a hit on a QB they will take. Bills fans should be happy its not the Rockpile days, he would have been lot up a long time ago.
  12. No I don't have tickets for either team. I do go to as many Sabres games as I can. It has always bugged me when season ticket holders re-sell their tickets to recoup their money. The point of being a season ticket holder is cause you're a fan of the team not to make money.
  13. It's nothing new in Buffalo. Like I said in another thread, for fanbases as passionate as Sabres and Bills fans are, they love to let visiting fans take over their stadiums. So much for home field advantage.
  14. Get use to it. Mcclappity seems to like complimentary football. I think they should let Allen sling it the rest of the season. See that they have in him
  15. Maybe tuning into the Sabres tonight will help. They have been playing inspiring hockey. As far as the Bills go, having a conservative coach is not helping things. Yesterday being a tough game, should have been one where they be aggressive with their offense. Letting Allen be a game manager is not helping his growth. I say let him along it and see what happens. Maybe he will learn more that way.
  16. The amazing thing about that stat is Buffalo is the only one with a winning record. It says to me they have been lucky in that they have been playing the NFLs bottom feeders
  17. Its been 2 games. Last week the defense was just as bad. They were lucky they played Miami. If the game against Washington is a close game I would start to worry. If the Bills are supposed to be a good team, Washington is a team they should beat easily.
  18. Thats a Buffalo syndrome. The Sabres are the same. For fan bases that are passionate about their teams, a lot of visiting fans seem to take over both stadiums. So much for home field advantage.
  19. Trust the process. ? Allen is looking more and more as JAG. Until pMcClappity gets away from being conservative and plays football like it's played in 2019, things will never change.
  20. For all those that are angry, maybe take a break and watch the other team in town this week. They have an offense that scores and they play an exciting game.
  21. You all go on about this game being a loss. Its not that they lost, its how bad they looked. For a team who prides itself on its defense, they got blown out.
  22. Until the coach gets away from playing not to lose things will never change. Part of me thinks that will never change.
  23. But Allen is improving and you have to trust the process.? Allen may be getting better, but the offense should be much better then what they are. Between bad play calling and playing not to lose they haven't helped the defense much. To win in the NFL now you need to score points. With the way the rules are now it's a lot easier to score then it is to defend. I know a lot of you are fans from the Rockpile days that loved a defense first team. Its 2019, teams with conservative offense and supposed top defense doesn't win a lot of games.
  24. Last time I looked that POS Eagles team is winning.
  25. For me that smell reminds of a new Sabres season. Any one else in WNY like hockey?
