Bills Offensive Production 2015-present
Jrb1979 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This isn't the Rockpile days where you have years to learn the game. In today's NFL you need to win now. It doesn't take multiple years to rebuild. That's why I never understood why they drafted a project QB. Big Hands and a Rocket arm means nothing these days. -
2019 Playoffs. 1st round

I see the Bills finishing 9-7 at best. Their offense is not good enough to win against good defenses. I see Allen regressing a lot in th second half of the season. If they lose to Miami, I am having doubts the playoffs are going to happen. I think it's going to be Pittsburgh and either Jacksonville or Oakland in that last spot. -
It would be a big jump if he even gets to average as the Bills are going to be playing teams that have much better defense then what they have played. Patience can only be for so long, if the Bills fail to make the playoffs by next season I doubt it matters. They will be starting over again.

Bills at Browns Post Game Post Mortem

I don't need big passing days to show me that a QB isn't good. I'm sorry but to win in this league you have to be able to score with big yardage plays. So far Allen and the offense have yet to show me they can. You aren't going to score much if you need 10 play drives to get down the field. -

Food for thought. The Chiefs are leading their division so unless they drop out of first place their record has no bearing on the Bills. -
They aren't to worried about an offense that doesn't score with big plays. Its a lot easier to defend an offense that trys to score on 10 plays versus an offense that is explosive and uses a lot of big plays. IMO if the Bills are going to win this game they need to be more aggressive on offense with big yard plays. On defense they need to blitz Mayfield cause if the Bills can't get to Mayfield he will be able to make plays.
-
If they want to win some of the harder games left they need to be more aggressive on defense and on offense too. That's part of why I have doubts with this coaching staff. McDermott seems to have an old school way of thinking. He's always been a control the clock type coach.

Maybe blitzing once in awhile would help. Being more aggressive would be good.

Daboll is an excellent play caller

Putting up points is all well and good but it's hard to do when the coach wants to play a ball control system that doesn't look for big yard plays often enough. The way the rules favor the offense the Bills should be going for 20 yard passes more then they do. How come other teams, even the Dolphins, manage to have a few big yard plays a game but the Bills believe in short passing plays to get down the field? Just once I would love to see the Bills be aggressive on offense and not wait til the 4th qtr. -
You don't watch enough of the rest of the NFL thread

Its great they are 6-2 but after watching a lot of other teams this season the Bills offense looks very bad. Its mostly cause a lot of other teams use their offense to the strength of their QB. Its hard to win against good teams using a game manager. That's what they have turned Allen into. -
I think that mind set is changing slowly. I think most teams are going in the direction of building an offense that caters to the type of QB they are. Look at Arizona and Baltimore, they built an offense for what their QB is good at. For me they should be calling plays and building an offense around Allen. Making plays outside the pocket on the run seems to be what he is good at. Making him a pocket passer, IMO, is not the answer. For a guy with a rocket arm they should be making more plays over 20 yards passing. I realize why they are doing what they are doing with Allen. After the Pats game they have reeled him in and made him a game manager. I'm afraid they may never let him loose again cause it goes against the complimentary football and ball control.

Great read on Belichick and the human side.

The point of football and sports is to win. I don't care how Blue Collar a guy is or how likeable the team is. I just want to win and look good doing it. I want my team to dominate and destroy teams. Only Bills fans want the Blue Collar to go with winning. -
Amazing how the National Press Ignores the Bills

I am still waiting for even the local media to even mention the Sabres for once. Its been all Bills all the time. The Sabres are doing just what the Bills are doing. Beating the teams they are supposed to beat. I thought Buffalo was a hockey town. Its just like every other city in the US. Hockey doesn't matter -
Let's stop apologizing for having an easy schedule

That's fine you came away unimpressed. What I want to know is how come you easily look past the Bills flaws on offense but the Sabres your quick to jump on how bad they look. -

This coming from a guy who says the same when it comes to the Sabres. Sabres beat the teams they are supposed to beat and you still say they suck. Meanwhile the Bills have done the same and it's "We're 6-2, we the best."
