A playoff run maybe but not a Super Bowl. That's the goal. IMO with no AFC team that stands out, the Super Bowl will be a similar result to last season where the NFC team blows out the AFC team. Winning the turnover battle requires luck. Look at last season compared to this season.
-
I disagree. If that move gets to a Super Bowl championship, than it's all worth it. I don't care if in 2-3 years the team sucks and back to the drought era. Look at the Eagles, in 3 seasons from now they are going to be a bad football team due to all the big void contracts in 2028 and beyond. They won a Super Bowl so it was worth it.
-
I would add, also making talent the focus rather than culture or scheme fit.
-
For the defense it heavily relies on turnovers. Yesterday was one of the few times this season they got timely ones.
-
Sure that have fallen but they have won 3 Super Bowls in that era while the Bills have won 0. I would trade places any day for that.

12/7/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Bengals 1:00 pm Post Game Thread

My biggest takeaway from the game is the snow is supposed to be an advantage for the Bills. For most of the game it looked the Bengals did better in the snow than the Bills did. -
Even if the Chiefs miss the playoffs, I would trade their 3 Super Bowl wins over what the Bills have done in the same time.
-
IMO they didn't really adjust that much. The Bengals were still moving the ball on the defense in the 2nd half. The difference was 2 INTs, which was a lot like last season went. The Bills defense has always been built on bend don't break and hope to get some turnovers.
-
Even during those drives, if Allen doesn't scramble to find an open receiver they don't get those opportunities. Look how easy the Bengals moved the ball on offense due to having elite weapons.
-
I disagree. I don't think they turned it on at all. They got a timely turnover similar to last year. The Josh put his cape on to carry them to victory. That IMO is the problem, Josh can't play like he did in the 4th quarter for a full game. I will add, if they don't get a turnover the defense also struggles. If Benford doesn't get that INT, they probably lose that game. The Bengals were moving the ball with ease on this defense.

The offense is much better either. If Allen doesn't scramble to make plays or breaks off long runs, this offense struggles to move the ball. -
Unfortunately it's probably not going to be enough to go much farther.

The Bengals have the worst rated defense in the league. Yet they managed to hold the vaunted Bills offense to 11 points so far. -

That was against a bad Steelers offense. The difference this week is they will to match score for score. This offense hasn't shown they can do that consistently -
They are not the worst number 1 seed. They are winning the games they have on their schedule. I would agree if they were winning most of their games with last minute scores. They have been putting up points and blowing teams out. Now if you are talking about Denver than yeah they are aren't as good as their record indicates.
-
The Bills played a similar schedule other than 3 games.
-
I agree and it's a big reason why they fail in the playoffs. In the playoffs, the gap between each team is small in terms talent. That's when the A level talent makes a difference.
-
There is talent for sure. The team needs more A level talent. Look at the offense, they have Cook and Allen as A level talent. The rest are B and lower.
-
I agree. IMO that starts with focusing more on talent than culture in the first 2 rounds.

Game week thread - Bengals at Bills (flexed to 1pm ET)
Jrb1979 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
While I like the idea behind that video, I think that way of team building has been a big reason why they don't do well in the playoffs. Talent trumps culture. Look at teams they have won a Super Bowl the last few years. They have elite playnakers on both sides of the ball. A lot of times elite playnakers tend to have a bit of a Diva attitude. For some reason, McDermott, Beane and many in the fan base don't want anything to do with that. -
Yes they are 8 and 4 but with how inconsistent I see them going 2-3 to finish the season. With losses to the Bengals, Pata and Eagles. At that point for the Bills to make it depends on how other games go. The 2 teams that matter the most for the Bills to make it is the Chargers and the Texans.
-
I can them getting in. They can easily win that division. It's not like Baltimore or Pittsburgh is playing that great. . This is the playoff bracket I finished with.
-
The same thing you saw against Tampa. How did they follow that up? I think they finish 10-7 and need help to make it. They have been too inconsistent all season to think they are about to go on a run.
-
What if that Super Bowl win never comes? For every one that says if the Bills change regimes that it may fail, it can equally be successful. I honestly believe the drought years has hurt the mindset of many fans. Many seem scared that if a change happens, that a return to the drought years is automatic.
