  1. Yeah very true, I think Tre was gonna be special (although I guess that’s technically a Whaley pick 🤓) and Taron excels in his role. Milano was great. I still don’t think any of them brought to the team what a Jones or a Watt bring to theirs. If we had that type of piece on the defense I think some of our past postseason runs go a lot lot differently.
  2. Oliver was pick 9, but I appreciate your point overall. But Chris Jones was a 2nd round pick. TJ watt was pick 30. Amon Ra was 4th round. Trey Hendrickson was round 3. It should go without saying it’s not “easy” to find these types of guys, but given the sheer amount of time the current regime has had to do so, you’d almost expect them to luck into at least ONE other guy besides Allen. Worse front offices than ours certainly have.
  3. Because they called him a running back pre draft, so he’s still seen as an “underdog” or something. Which is interesting, because the proven way to beat him has historically been to take away the running game and make him throw the ball 30+ times, so…
  4. If the Ravens drop this weekend’s game to the Steelers, I think Lamar’s MVP chances go up in smoke. It’s supposed to be a regular season award, but how can they give the guy more MVP’s than he has playoff wins? I mean come on…
  5. McDermott’s scheme is capable of getting efficient to highly efficient play out of JAG players, but it seems damn near impossible for him to get an already good player up to a dominant level of production — other than Josh Allen, who is a cheat code. It’s the biggest concern at this point that in 8 drafts + offseasons the McBeane regime hasn’t produced a single other dominant player. Lots of solid players, a few borderline great ones… but nearly a decade of scouting for Beane and in nearly a decade of coaching from McD, we’re embarking on yet another postseason run without top tier, “All Pro” production from anyone except the QB.
  6. Raiders front office is more fun to watch than their team. Since giving Gruden that crazy contract, they’ve: fired Gruden for off field stupidity, then passed over his interim replacement who made the playoffs (Bisaccia) in order to hire franchise-destroyer extraordinaire Josh McDaniels, only to fire that guy after he ran their franchise quarterback out of town and THIS time they KEEP the interim coach — only to also fire him after just one year with one of the least talented teams in the league. Just how many guys are they paying right now to NOT be their head coach? And how can I become one of them? 😆
  7. It annoys me to no end that the NFL not only expanded the playoff format, but erased the 2nd seed bye week JUST when the Bills started to become a perennial playoff team. How many seasons could we have had bye weeks by now? Certainly at least three.
  8. Difference being I don’t think Reid was ever accused of “squandering” the prime years of Donovan McNabb. Finding Josh Allen is a double edged sword for McDermott. Any success he has is always going to be tempered by the fact that his QB is an alien MVP, and if you can’t win with a guy like that? People will be quick to assume you’re the one holding him back from a championship. Especially if you don’t have a decade of prior successful head coaching to point to.
  9. 100% For better or worse, this defensive roster is the lineup McBeane have personally built and at “full” health. If it can’t perform, there’s no good reason for it. Either they’ve spent eight years assembling the wrong talent or they’ve adhered too stubbornly to the wrong scheme. I do think having a first year play caller will be something of the narrative if the defense lays an egg again this postseason — and that’s got some merit to it, obviously. So does being strapped with cap difficulties this offseason. But again, that’s all on McDermott (and Beane) as well.
  10. I hope they organize a trucker convoy to escort him out of the city.
  11. Needed to take the timeout or spike that.
  12. Yes they definitely said she had a vote.
  13. It’s at least a little depressing that no name CB’s can man up on any of our receivers with absolutely no difficulty every week.
  14. McDermott goes 0 for however many challenges he’s had this year. That challenge advisor we hired really paying dividends lol
  15. Coleman could have at the least drawn an easy flag there, his defender wasn’t playing the ball at all.
  16. Physically he looks like he would an ideal backup to Josh. The way he can move and throw means the offense probably wouldnt have to change very much.
  17. Was that supposed to be a practice squib attempt ?
  18. I know it’s mostly our backups, but you’d like to see our defense do something to force an incompletion from a sixth round rookie.
  19. Everyone bout to see just how much juice this team has without Allen under center. spoiler alert: it’s not much lol
  20. This would actually be a pretty good hire by them.
  21. lol Rodgers with the late hit 😂
  22. It’s so bizarre anyone could pick someone other than Allen for MVP. He has no defense and no clutch receivers and still has his team on the verge of the 2 seed. We are only even remotely in the Super Bowl conversation because of him.
  23. Difference this season is a first year play caller. McDermott and Frazier had the benefit of experience to maximize this crappy scheme.
