I think there is real reason to be skeptical. They brought in 1 name and several career backups. I’m not really sure where they immensely improved outside of center.
And nothing they did at tackle should affect draft preparation. These guys aren’t world beaters.
All this Clowney stuff started with a bogus rumor citing a trash source on this message board. Buffalo will not give up what the Texans will ask and it’s not like there is a substantiated report that they are actually seeking to rid themselves of him.
He should be competing for a roster spot. Nothing more. He was a default no. 1 last year and even at Miami which was his best game of the year he had critical drops. Hes not explosive and gas suspect hands not a good recipe.
He went to the playoffs and didn’t even draft any players that were apart of it or FA for that matter, traded a whole lot to land Allen and then the team went 6-10. His fate is tied to Allen. Let’s not jump the gun.
I’m not saying cut the guy but despite some ok touchdown numbers from last year he was still wildly inconsistent and drop prone. He has no one special quality for a wideout. Make or break year.
A primary reason that regimes flame out quickly. Often times “their guys” are inferior talent wise. Letting good players go because they aren’t yours is the worst logic imaginable..and there is no disputing that players they’ve let walk or purged off the roster have produced.
