  1. You are pointing out exceptions. Most teams are cooked if their starting QBs go down for significant time. There are a few, rare examples where that didn't happen and everyone points to those rare instances. That being said, just like any position, you should have as good of a backup as you can, but there are constraints to that. The best backups go to teams where they think they might have a chance to start games, and also the ones that give them the most money.
  2. 10 seems like a realistic number.
  3. Popularity is at an all time high. The entire nation is shoveling money toward the NFL. Players get paid way more. Coaches get paid way more. Owners make way more money. The game is safer. I'm struggling to think of what's worse.
  4. There are better ways to leave work early...
  5. Jackson may have two MVP's, but one of them is a complete joke. Players and media love Jackson, but ask any coach who they'd rather have and I bet most, if not all, would take Allen. And the fans see it too. They see right through the media narrative and notice that Jackson is much less dynamic as a passer. Allen is just as lethal as a runner, but a far better passer. It's not close, in my opinion. Plus, Allen plays his best ball in the playoffs while Jackson plays his worst.
  6. I'm not really sure that is the case without adding more edge rushers. It comes down to Rousseau taking a big step and Miller proving he has something left in the tank.
  7. I explain this team this way: a really good team that keeps getting beat by the BEST team in the NFL (the KC Chiefs). It's really as simple as that. McDermott and Allen are good. Reid and Mahomes are perhaps the best coach/QB combo in the history of the league. The Bills need to stay relatively healthy and bring their A game against them in the playoffs.
  8. But they would have kept him (maybe with a restructure) if they thought he could step in and start at either center or guard and be better than McGovern or Edwards respectively. They had confidence in those two, which allowed them to move on from Bates and Morse.
  9. Teams are more likely to target their own cuts because they already know the scheme, playbook, etc. Plus they are often draft picks or UDFA's that they want to continue to develop. And players are more likely to accept because they are already comfortable with the organization, their teammates, dont need to move, etc. Its a win/win.
  10. That's how it usually is.
  11. Per NFL.com: RB Frank Gore Jr. is being signed to the practice squad, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported, per a source. WR KJ Hamler (practice squad), per Pelissero. WR Jalen Virgil (practice squad), per Pelissero.
  12. They even traded away Ryan Bates. They made a conscious decision to go this route, and it wasn't because they felt they were getting worse. Still, we have to see how it goes.
  13. Hence why he got drafted in the 5th round despite excellent physical ability and metrics. You take risks like that in the 5th. High risk, high reward.
  14. Better: RB, CB, TE, DT Same: OL, QB Worse: LB, DE, S, WR I think the OL is roughly similar, but I think it is good and we have a great pipeline of young olinemen developing. Oline is going to be a strength for years. WR is worse merely because we don't have a #1, but by the end Diggs, Davis, Harty, and Sherfield objectively SUCKED. So, the change needed to happen. I'm glad we rebuilt there, but it will require further investment for sure. A lot hinges on Rousseau's ability to put it all together, stay healthy, and be the dominant force that he is capable of. Also, can Dorian Williams fill in for Milano and be better in coverage? He is great when he plays downhill, but his coverage instincts are poor. And will the safeties be at least fine? Luckily, McDermott always gets the most out of the secondary, so I think they will be fine eventually. Lastly, can the receivers get separation and make plays, and can Kincaid take the next step and be an elite TE? There are so many questions this year. Some of those questions will be answered positively, and probably some negatively.
  15. A reach in the 5th round? There is no such thing. And he was projected to be a 5th round draft pick and graded as a "good backup with the potential to develop into starter." So, not a reach at all. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/justin-shorter/32005348-4f65-1252-2fb4-216da3af656d Besides, he may be back on the practice squad. We'll see.
  16. Yeah, I didn't think we would. I wondered if Kingsley Jonathan would because Eric Washington is DC for the Bears, so maybe he would have wanted him.
  17. He has slowly been upgrading teams. Now he is with a good one!
  18. I respect that. I do think it is a bit of an overreaction. But hey, we all have our things that annoy us.
  19. Why so serious?
  20. I bet he'll be back. I doubt he gets claimed, but we'll see.
  21. Zach Davidson sucks at blocking. A 3rd TE is primarily going to be a blocker and special teamer. He might get 5 or 6 targets all year. Just sign him to the practice squad and keep developing him. I'm sure he'll be available.
  22. Even less than a UDFA. He was a tryout player first. Good for him!
  23. Finally an honest ranking. Lamar Jackson is CLEARLY below those three, but in many ways he is overrated and above criticism, especially by players. They put him on a pedestal.
  24. Josh Allen has 174 total touchdowns (passing, rushing and receiving) in the past four seasons. That's 23 more than anyone else since 2020 and the most in a four-year span by any player in NFL history. He has 75 turnovers in that span, 14 more than anyone else. He is the modern day Brett Favre, really.
  25. Eh, it doesn't look dirty to me. Players go low because it is against the rules to go high. His helmet looks like it is making contact with his hip, but the defender is trying to jump around the block, but his cleat gets stuck in the turf, causing his leg to twist.
