  1. And that's exactly what we didn't have in previous years: elite talent. Josh Allen has grown into an elite player. Diggs is elite. White is elite. If we could add (or develop) a top 5 pass rusher, this team would just be set for years to come and contending for Super Bowls every year. Having good depth and coaching is important for consistent winning, but having elite playmakers is what puts you over the top. It's great to see that we are finally putting all the pieces together.
  2. Come on. Go look it up. That was nothing. Everything was completely dropped because he did nothing wrong.
  3. McCoy was a great player and he always ran hard and gave his all. By no stretch of the imagination was he ever a good mentor for other players, though. Good friend and teammate? Probably. But a mentor? No way. I'm just glad he didn't get other players into trouble or cause problems in the locker room.
  4. It's not even close to a debate. The Chiefs have a boat load of crappy people. Far more than the average football team.
  5. I didn't discount the first 12 games. I said they struggled early on and got better as the season progressed. That's exactly what they did. The individual I responded to was discounting the previous years of defensive success and saying that the investments the team made int he defense did not produce. But they have produced. McDermott has had a too defense his entire time in Buffalo except for the first few games of the 2020 season.
  6. And my point is that previous years, also years that you are discussing the assets put into the defense, they were one of the best defenses in the league. The Bills defense in 2020 struggled early on, but towards the end of the season was producing like a top 5 unit. That's what brought their averages up to middle of the pack. 2020 was a strange season. It is silly to believe, given the consistent success of the defense and their improvement in 2020, that they are an average unit.
  7. The Bills have had one of the best defenses in the NFL the past handful of years. They absolutely HAVE been producing. A rocky start to 2020 and all of the sudden we are claiming that the Bills have had a bad defense? They haven't. And they turned it around and played very well down the stretch even in 2020. This narrative is just so false it's funny.
  8. There's also an extra game to consider.
  9. Well, you know what they say about broken clocks...
  10. I'm not really comparing them. I'd be fine with both of them leaving. I like Hughes. He is a good player. But I don't put as much stock into pass rush win rate and pressures as everyone else, apparently. I want a defensive end who can finish. I have always felt that Jerry Hughes shines best when he has another elite rusher to take the pressure off him, like when he had Mario Williams. But we haven't had that in a long time. He's old. He is a decent player. But I'd move on from him if there was a good offer or if the young guys show they can contribute sooner than expected. As for Addison, I think he is a better player than what he showed last year, but I would not mind moving on from him either. Advanced stats tell a story, but they will never be worth as much as the basic stats of sacks, hits, tackles, tackles for loss, forced fumbles, etc. That's my opinion, anyway. And I do pay attention to Hughes in the game and he does have an impact, but not as much as I would like. He'll put together a good game or two, sometimes a really excellent game, then have a stretch of three games where his impact is minimal.
  11. He had a year or two of being probably the best, but not anymore. Unfortunately, once he sours on a team he doesn't play as hard and goes into self preservation mode. We saw it in Buffalo and the Patriots are seeing it too. Now he is holding out. Despite his talent, I am glad he was not re-signed in Buffalo. I don't really like him. I never liked how he would blame other players, avoided hits, and was pretty streaky in his play.
  12. One of the most hilarious head coach signings in recent memory. Failed in Miami, so the Jets wanted him? He didn't just fail in Miami, it was a disaster in the locker room with him constantly throwing his own players under the bus and saying stupid things to the media constantly. I could not believe how lucky we were that the Jets hired him.
  13. Well, last off-season Bills fans and sports media were talking about how much they liked the signing of Addison and how it was a good below the radar move. I'm sure you weren't because you hate everything, but most people were. He was averaging nearly 10 sacks a season the previous 4 seasons. So yeah, hindsight is 20/20.
  14. Addison led the team in sacks, you know... Sorry, but Hughes is old and hasn't produced sacks in years. He is a fine player but I would move on from him in a heartbeat if we got a good offer for him. I'd move on from him AND Addison in a heartbeat. I'm ready to let all the younger guys contribute and develop. I don't care about how many "pressures" Hughes gets. He never gets home and he has pissed off the refs to the point that they have blackballed him and never call holding for him. He is an above average player and I'm not sure why everyone is so attached to him and act like he is an elite difference maker. He isn't. Ask anyone who isn't a Bills fan about Jerry Hughes and they'll say "Who?". Not exactly a guy who is making an impact and turning heads as a pass rusher. Don't get me wrong, I like him and think he is a good player, but his best years are behind him for sure. He is totally the kind of high priced, old veteran that teams move on from. But truthfully? Nobody is going to offer anything good for him in a trade. Why would they? And sacks.
  15. Wow, that's just not even close to accurate. They play different positions! And what's with all this Hollister stuff? People read a couple of reports that he was playing well in OTA's so now he is a major contributor?
  16. This again? I'll say the same thing I said last time: I'll believe it when I see it.
  17. I thought this was all common knowledge, but with all the hate that Singletary gets, I guess not. We do not need a running back. We need better run blocking.
  18. They really are the worst. Very unlikeable bunch. And I guess they fit their team. A ton of unlikeable players they root for.
  19. Yes. All that combined with the refs allowing the Chiefs defensive backs to play very physical coverage (often allowing holding, even), something they did not allow in the Superbowl. Kelce and Hill terrorized the Bills in the championship game. Even if the Bills had been clicking on offense, it would have been really hard to overcome our lack of ability to deal with those two players. But honestly, the Chiefs were just firing on all cylinders, something they had not been doing the previous handful of weeks, and the Bills were not firing on all cylinders. Could have been a very different game. But I do think the Chiefs are better than the Bills.
  20. I like variety, so I'm all for it (as long as it doesn't turn into some college programs who seem to never wear the same uniform twice). But I do prefer the white helmets to the red. They can already use the 60's throwback because it's the same color as their normal ones. That wouldn't be changing.
