  1. I love posts like this that don't actually have any real long-term vision. Dominant defenses are not sustainable for long-term success. If you actually really look at this league, the teams that are perennial contenders are the teams with franchise QB's and competent offenses. It's awesome to have a great defense, but no team in the league is able to keep one for an extended period of time. The Bears D I'm sure will stay at least good for a while, but watch, their window for being at this level is going to be pretty small as they start to lose guys. I don't think anyone's ever been against having a good D or run game...but the priority and rightfully so was about getting that franchise QB. It's so much easier to get everything else to fall into place once you have that.
  2. It's encouraging, for sure. To me, once you have your QB, there's no such thing as tanking anymore. It's important to start establishing a winning culture...by winning. I think it does make a difference if we finish the year out strong, not only for the players here but to try to become a somewhat attractive free agent destination.
  3. Way better than having the defeated, glum look of that supposedly great guy Peterman on the sidelines.
  4. There were actually people here saying he was a legit #2...he’s nowhere close. Dude is awful and a major bust.
  5. Yup, it probably is. I honestly think for some coaches the objective is just to keep it close, not to win the game. Absolutely, it's the right call all the way around to go for it. And oh yeah, Elway would have been livid. Joseph probably wasn't thinking about that in that moment, but having a former QB and especially a HOF one as a GM is going to be killer here.
  6. I can't agree, they had a shot right there to get the first down or take the lead on 4th and 1 from inside the opposition's 10. Gotta go for the killshot there. I loved that call. 4th and 1 and a shot to end the game right there and then with the ball in the hands of one of your best players...I'm taking that chance all day. They didn't get it but I have no problem at all with the logic there. If McD ever makes a call like that, I'm behind it every time. But most likely he kicks the FG in both scenarios.
  7. The Broncos going for that FG down 17-13 with like 4 minutes to go on 4th and 1 and then 4th and 6 after the delay of game makes me want to puke...and I had no rooting interest in the game. Conservative football deserves to lose.
  8. I honestly wanted Darnold but I was at least relieved we got Allen over Rosen. I think the Rosen douchebaggery stuff was a little overblown...I just didn't think he was as talented as the other guys.
  9. I think Mayfield was the most advanced out of all of them...but I actually like the upside of Darnold and Allen more. But as of right now, today, obviously Mayfield is the best and most productive.
  10. I do too, I think he's going to be really good. Just like on Allen, people way overreact when a rookie QB goes through some early struggles. But that should be a really good rivalry for years to come.
  11. Makes sense. I'd like for McD to be our defensive coordinator too.
  12. Ugh, we can't even beat the Pats at health inspections. But nice job by the Bills to be one of the cleaner/safer stadiums for grub.
  13. Because I really don't. I don't think he's a #1 or 2, and I think we have a couple of depth WR's in Zay and Foster and can probably find one or two more like that at cheaper prices. I think Tyrell's going to get overpaid. I like Tate too, and I'm usually opposed to bringing older players (or Notre Dame guys) in. But I think he still has something left and I like his game. You're right about him being a good fit for Allen too. Hes an instinctive player that could definitely help Allen when he's on the run. Sanu's OK. I'd rather have Tate and another guy by trade or a high draft pick.
  14. I like Enunwa as a player too, from the old eye test. But I think they're going to keep him, it sounds like he's a big part of their leadership.
  15. I get that part. That's kind of what I mean, I don't want us to break the bank on him. If someone overpays for that guy, I don't want it to be us.
  16. I've seen people clamor for him this upcoming offseason...possibly an overreaction since I admittedly don't watch the Chargers much...but he reminded me too much of KB. I know he had a highlight reel catch, but also had some bad drops, doesn't really fight for the ball, fumbled it...we need a way better player than this guy.
  17. This is probably closest to the truth. There's no question that the trash O-line and lack of legit weapons have hurt him and probably has gotten into his head a little bit in terms of him bailing out of the pocket early at times, and I do agree that while his abilities as a runner is an overall positive, he needs to be smarter about it and limit the abuse he takes. I actually think he's done a better job of that in the last couple of games. But I don't think it can be assumed that the issues will automatically be resolved with a better o-line and upgraded weapons either, I don't think we've seen enough to determine that. I'm optimistic about him too though. This is a playmaker's league and the dude is a playmaker. He's a way different QB than Luck so I'm not comparing their skill sets...but he reminds me of the way Luck at the beginning of his career was constantly looking to push the ball downfield, which I think he's getting more freedom to do again with Reich in now. I loved it, and I love that Allen has that mentality so far.
  18. Found it! Joe Logan! https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/05/report-cowher-meeting-with-bills-again-today/ This moron actually found a way to get Schefter and some other big name NFL reporters to acknowledge him for this. Good times.
  19. I believe it was Joe something, but I remember the absolute frenzy it caused. I'm not even sure he was a writer, but I think he had a website and claimed he had a source that said Cowher was coming here. I think he even ended up doing an interview with Sal C. I don't know why I was thinking about this, but it's bothering me that I can't remember the guy's name.
  20. Haha, he claps even more than they show during games.
  21. Wow! That's even worse than I thought.
  22. Cousins is way overrated. To me he's always been a paper tiger. I've rarely ever seen him play well when it matters or in pivotal parts of games.
  23. Feels like there's something up with Zimmer. Norv quit because they didn't see eye to eye, and then there were rumblings this year that it was going on with DeFilippo.
