  1. No longer a game changer type guy. Oft injured, seemed unmotivated last year in SF with a big cap number. However, at just a 5th with the option of either reworking his deal for a lower cap number or using this year and letting him walk (for what would likely be a 5th or better comp pick) it's a good low risk move.
  2. I think informal meetings are just that. Meeting a player and having a conversation. Feeling them out. Nothing really football related. No chalkboard time or film. Make sure contact info is correct, ask some light questions. Nothing detailed.
  3. Yup. Makes sense. But whenever we hear ahead of time the BIlls are in on a player most of the time we don't sign that player. Reports like this are usually overblown agent driven "tips" to help create a market.
  4. The combine is the NFLs version of speed dating. They talk to many of the players to gauge if they want a second date (Top 30 visit). There's no limit to how many players they can chat up at the combine so a lot of teams take advantage. Some players are even brought in to talk about their teammates and get a feel for how people that played with a prospect they may like view them.
  5. Hughes is a pretty plugged in guy with the Giants. According to him the discussion is to get a vet like Rodgers (but not the only one being discussed) an still try and move to 1 for Sanders or Ward. So pay a vet, make a splashy move up the board and pair them together for the NYC/NJ media to sit and spin with a QB controversy from the get go. This is gonna be entertaining. Especially if it's Rodgers and his weird comments, McAfee appearances and willingness to throw everyone under the bus. Daboll won't survive Rodgers IMO.
  6. You could be right. You could be way off. Who really knows. Trying to figure out what's in his mind is a fools errand IMO. I'm sure he has a goal of a Super Bowl win. And he's stated a goal of his is to play with his brother. The difference being one he could make happen easily. I'm certain the Cowboys who lack weapons would take him on with a prove it deal. The other is a dart throw. Even signing with KC doesn't mean a ring. So is all things were equal, does he roll the dice on achieving one goal...or does he achieve the one that is guaranteed with the hope he can get the ring in Dallas. Time will tell
  7. Nabors and Adams would make a sick WR duo.
  8. I said it when he was here, I'll say it one more time. Diggs is not some otherworldly driven player to win any more then most guys in the league. That narrative was carefully crafted and has been often repeated. It's flat out a false narrative. The ONLY thing that drives Diggs is Diggs. His image and the way he's branded. Stef cares about Stef.
  9. I think when he left and reworked his deal to be a FA after this year, his goal was Dallas to play with his brother. He and his brother have been pretty open about wanting to play on the same team. I don't have any idea where the idea of him having some long term plan to join the Chiefs is coming from. Other than fans suffering from KCDS...Kansas City Derangement Syndrome. Much like they did New England a half decade ago.
  10. I'm betting Houston in that teams, too. Dell may not play at all next year and if he does who knows how well it would be A 1 year "Prove it" makes sense for both sides.
  11. Raiders need way more than a QB. If I'm them I'm looking to trade wayyyy down in the draft with someone looking for top tier pass rush help. Maybe pick up an extra first next year and some change. I think if they can work that and get in on Milroe it may be a good move. For the record, I personally don't think Milroe is gonna be special. But if anyone can make something of him, I'd pick the guys that coached Russ Wilson from the third round to the Super Bowl and made him an MVP candidate and the guy picked in round 6 that won more rings than fingers on one hand.
  12. Weird because in the past I could have sworn several times the NFL basically forced a team to be in it.
  13. The great thing about the combine is all the stories/refutes that come out. It's officially Lying Season people. Don't buy any "rumor".
  14. He's just a competitive guy.
  15. Slick Rick from the mailroom needs to step it the hell up.
  16. What is ironic is that the generic [Misleading Title] is often more generic or misleading than the original title.
  17. That's where I would like to see transparency. Mic the refs. Let's hear the discussion. Show the replay booth as well so we can hear the process on some of these calls that are upheld/overturned. I think that's where a chunk of distrust comes from. The big decisions are made in the shadows.
  18. It's nice to see but ultimately most teams meet with a lot of players at the combine. It's kind of footballs version of speed dating.
  19. First off, nice goal post moving. Truly top notch. The "no brainier" comment I made had to do with rework his deal and kick in some void years. No where did I claim to be "all in" or some Allen expert. YOU brought up the cap number and I refuted that with how to easily and financially fit him under the cap at a value price. Why is it a no brainier? Because if you care about dead cap hits 5 years from now...hell I don't even know if I'll be alive 5 years from now to care about it. Allen has requested a trade. The Commanders have granted permission. I have (several times) explained how managing his cap hit is feasible. You can scroll back up. If you need to know why Johnathan Allen would help our poor DL...I suggest you try and actually watch football. You seem more interested in grandstanding then actually having a conversation. Something I no longer do with those unable or unwilling to grasp easy and often used concepts. You can have whatever last word you want. I won't even see it. Go Bills Finally, you ask questions that due to me not being in the front office of the Commanders or Bills would be impossible to answer as some kinda of "gotcha" or things you could easily find out for yourself with a 3 minute Google search. I would suggest however if you can't comprehend why reworking a guy on a 1 year deal would be something both sides would want to do...maybe you aren't the Master Strategist you claim to be. Maybe with the way you move goalposts and want to bait people to argue...you should switch the second half of your name to "Baiter". Be more fitting.
  20. They won the Super Bowl. Maybe you were boycotting? And yes, they drafted the DL well. They also had picks that didn't pan out and took the opportunity when it was available to upgrade through trades. As an example, they whiffed on Jalen Reagor in the first round. Went on to trade for AJ Brown. Had a weakness a few years back at CB. Made a move for Slay. Those are the types of trades that take a team from good to Super. And again, that "$16M salary" can EASILY be redone to lower the cap hit to almost nothing. He's in the last year of his deal and would likely like some new guarantees. It's a no brainier. When all is said and done you can work that contract to less of a cap hit then the #30 overall pick is slotted to make.
  21. Have to remember, for years that's all we had here. It was the guys like Fred Jackson that started at Coe and worked hard to get to where he was. The spunky punter rising to the face of the media guide. Stuff like that was all we had. The Hamlin story was awesome while it happened and I'm thankful it turned out the way it did. But it does get aggravating hearing about it and seeing every time he does something on the field they have to launch into the story again even years later. My God, let the kid move on in life. Also, wasn't it Doyle that played through the injury (ACL tear?) in the Miami game where we lost everyone else to heat stroke? He toughed it out on one leg? That's what I think people like him for.
