Anyone on the Bills you think could be traded?
BuffaloBillyG replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
To all the ones saying Kincaid, you are dead wrong IMO. If what Knox said was true and he was playing through a knee injury this year, Beane will give him time to heal and come back. This is what they have done in the past with guys like Spencer Brown. And that makes Knox more valuable as an alternative of Kincaid doesn't come back healthy. Far too early to flip Kincaid for a 3rd rather than see if he comes back and is the guy he flashed he could be as a rookie. The only way I see them trading Kincaid is if some GM goes crazy and makes a huge offer OR the medicals on him show he won't heal properly. -
Anyone on the Bills you think could be traded?
BuffaloBillyG replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills are pretty deep on the OL. Maybe a Bates type trade where we get a late rounder or late round pick swap for one of our guys there. I like RVD but he seems like he got passed on the depth chart a bit. Maybe they move him. Maybe they talk a team to take a chance on Elam for like a 2026 6th rounder, but maybe they bring him back because of his low salary as they seem to be leaning more man to man based on recent coaching hires. -
Honestly, I'd be happy with Bolton from the Chiefs too. He can be burnt in coverage, but he's really solid against the run, which is something we can really use.

Matthew Smiley out as Special Teams coach
BuffaloBillyG replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just because someone works under someone else does not instantly make them a disciple of the coach in charge was my point. If Harkey is the hire, we don't know if he shares the same philosophy, thought process, emphasis as Smiley did. For all we know he's the Ying to Smiley's Yang. Again, we don't know what we don't know. So stating in a factual manner that the hiring would suck is a bit far. As I said, we don't know what we don't know. If Harkey is hired, sure it's more than fair to be skeptical that something will change. It's more than fair to have the opinion that it's just status quo. But it's also wise to be open to see if things improve before automatically assuming it won't. Believe me, if this is the route they go I'll roll my eyes harder than most here...but I'll have an open mind and see the results before I say it sucks -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
BuffaloBillyG replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
I couldn't care less about Worthy or that it was the Chiefs in particular we traded with. I have more of a problem with the overall process. Typically, as Beane has eluded to in the past, Buffalo has a group of guys they would select. And they are reactive with that list. They watch it dwindle until there's one or two guys left and make a small jump to grab them if they must...like they did with Kincaid. In other words, they let those that select before them dictate which one they end up with. Last year I'd imagine when the Bills were on the clock they had a bunch of players left on their list and moved down knowing they would get one of them. I'd much rather identify the guy you want the most and move up and grab that dude. At the end of the day, the Chiefs identified who they wanted and went and got him. Had the Bills been aggressive and moved up about the same amount of spots the Chiefs did they are in Brian Thomas Jr. territory. -
Matthew Smiley out as Special Teams coach
BuffaloBillyG replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why is that? What do you know about the guy? Truth is I dislike the almost automatic "promote from within" philosophy McDermott has a lot as well...but we don't know what we don't know. Heck Brady worked under Dorsey and that turned out just fine. For all we know, Harkey had some really good ideas and was shot down by Smiley. Maybe he didn't. Who knows. Either way I can't say if Harkey would be a good or bad hire because there is literally nothing typically known about an Assistant Special Teams Coach. -
Superbowl Game Thread - Chiefs vs Eagles
BuffaloBillyG replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
The thing the Eagles do that I love is whenever there's a guy that's slipping down the board, be it character concerns, injury or what have you ..they take that chance. Sometimes it doesn't work out but then it does they typically score a huge value for the pick. Baltimore does this too and both do it primarily on defense guys. And it's paid off for years for both. -

Watch the Chiefs kick something like a 50+ yard FG just to avoid the shut out. I actually find that more pathetic than being shut out -

Rams are a good team. People forget the had lost a bit when Kupp/Puka were both out. But with both back, when Stafford bia on that's a top end club -

Playing the if game, our run defense doesn't likely hold Barkley as well as KCs did in that first half. Plus we have started slow all year. I think it's more like 27-10 at this point Eagles. -

Every few years you get that team that's just locked in. And no one is beating in the Super Bowl. Kind of like the Redskins the year we played them. That's Philly here. Doesn't matter who the AFC sent Philly was too over powered. -

The Bills Assistant ST coach for the last 3 years has been Cory Harkey. I suggest becoming familiar with him. https://www.buffalobills.com/team/coaches-roster/cory-harkey -

Kellen Moore expected to be Saints HC
BuffaloBillyG replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Smart move for Moore. He gets likely a 4-5 year guaranteed contract that makes him way more then he probably would have made. He never has to take a job he doesn't really want again. If he somehow stumbles into fixing the Saints, he makes even more. If not he'll have a few years of pay he doesn't have to work for. Being a HC also opens other avenues for coaches. Let's say he gets fired in 2 years...he could go the college HC route, the offensive advisor path or even one of the many Sunday morning pregame shows. If a dolt of a personality like Jason Garrett can land one...any former HC should be able to. He's been passed over many times before for various reasons and this may have been his final realistic shot IMO -

Matthew Smiley out as Special Teams coach
BuffaloBillyG replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
First off, best wishes to him and his family. Can never be easy to invest so much time and effort only to be dismissed. For all reports I've seen he seems to be truly a fantastic human being. I wish him all the best. That said ...THANK YOU 6LB 12OZ BABY JESUS!!! Don't know who the "assistant ST coach" was last year but with the promote from within philosophy McDermott employs...that person is likely the odds on favorite to get the job, right?- 151 replies

I have seen some REALLY good movies with the same basic storyline...

I think it was his coaching style more than the person that was disliked here. A good player in his time, steady coach and great human being.

I get it. My daughter has been talking about coming over to watch the Super Bowl and have a mini gathering if the Bills made it. She was politely told to stay away. On top of the extra distraction, it's not normal for her and her family to be at the house for a game...can't mess with the dynamics of superstition.

All I know is this. MVPs with Brittany -0 MVPs with Hailee -1 What was holding him back is crystal clear..🤷🏼♂️

I've seen him mocked in the top 16 all the way to 30. But if it's me I'm moving up and getting him. I think he goes top 20 picks easily, if not top 12 after combine. He's gonna move up a lot of boards IMO. I think he's going to be a real stud DT in the NFL
