Are people being sarcastic, of have people seen enough of Keon over the last year and a half to know not to expect too much from him? No matter how weak people think the Bucs are outside, they are All Pros compared to what Miami trotted out last week. And even then, and then force feeding him opportunities....he was still largely unimpressive. It hardly knee jerk to think he won't produce Sunday. It's actually the safe bet.

Well how the blue hell is he supposed to catch passes if he's got to do cheerleading duties and let everyone else know what they are doing wrong. He's just one person. There's only so much those pink rocks can do to give someone enough energy. I really feel that Diggs left them little choice but to trade him. That wasn't the mistake part. I think they actually did well getting back what they did for him. The mistake was the plan to replace him. To compound the issue even more, the Bills let Davis walk at the same time losing their too 2 WRs. And I don't blame them for that because of what the Jags offered him. Of course, Allen went on to win an MVP, but the team results were about the same. They tried the everybody eats approach and to their credit it worked for a bit. And it CAN work as a situational gameplan...not a weekly one IMO. But it's far past the time to bring in some real talent at the WR position and stop doing things so difficult.

Sure he's #15 in receptions, but he's currently leading the league in expectant baby mommas.

Buccaneers - 27 Bills -16 We keep it close before defense runs out of gas. I predict a horrible game by Brady. -
dynamic kickoffs - will they last? (The Athletic)
BuffaloBillyG replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've kind of gotten used to the new kick off rules. Doesn't really bother me. I also won't be shocked when the big brains of the NFL come up with something like, well less players on kickoffs equals less chance of injury....so kickoffs are now 7 on 7. Honestly, I get safety, but if the really wanna fix kickoffs....stop with the flags on every dang return. -
True, but this also derives from the world of technology we live in. 30 years ago you would have some idiot loudmouth at a bar spew dumb thoughts. Then it transferred to the post game call in shows. Then to internet boards like this and Twitter ECT. Perfect example, there is literally a thread on this very board calling for Allen to be benched. And, being that these days people are either scared or unable to have original thoughts of their own, they mimick and repeat what they hear. Not for nothing, but again, right here on this very board how often do you see someone try and prove their opinion with the term "Joe Marino says..." Of course, modern technology also leads to things like Red Zone, where you will see a long streak of kicks that "should" be converted, missed. So perhaps it seems like more kicks missed than actually occur.

Yes, the balls come into play. But also, the path of the kicker as well. Used to be kickers were small. The most unathletic guy in the field. Now, we are seeing larger, athletic, stronger guys as kickers. Kickers actually lift these days and work on strength and power. However for the most part it seems they lack the consistency on a regular basis that we saw 30 years ago.

Game week thread - Buccaneers at Bills
BuffaloBillyG replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't believe we are. Think back to when Ken Dorsey was the OC. How many weeks of asking McDermott after bad offensive performances did it take to see him finally make the move off Brady? One thing about McDermott, he does not make snap decisions. If there is an issue he will give the coach what he feels is ample time to make a fix. As fans, it can be frustrating..but as a boss that's fair -
Game week thread - Buccaneers at Bills

An NFL season only has 17 games. Every one is "must win". The answer if we lose this game is.... nothing happens. It would take another month of poor play for any kind of fall out IMO. -

Mike McDaniel Drinking Problem

Wait, he designs those plays sober? Just a joke. Good on him for turning it around. -
Here where I get confused. I don't follow college ball at all. My Saturday is usually way too packed. So I cannot comment with any personal knowledge here, but I keep seeing to 2027 draft is supposed to be MUCH more talented than the 2026 draft. Of course, we see that a lot of years where the "projection" is two years from now is a better draft than this coming one. But if that is the case, why would he want to give up his top pick in what's projected to be a stronger year? And why wouldn't the Dolphins want it? I have heard speculation that the Bills first rounder this year was already tied up in the offer for Q. Williams, and that's why the offer to Miami was for 2027, but of course that's all stuff we will never know

Hate to say this … but the Pats are effing good

I... they're doing WHAT in New England these days?!?! -

Reggie Bush would disagree. He can actually produce negative stats. Quite a feat. Bet she's faster than Coleman.

Mecole Hardman, Come on Down! (Signed to Practice Squad)
BuffaloBillyG replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
I actually think that's a possibility. Depending on the numbers and if they have to call up a DL or LBer or something, he's probably a good bet even if he's just returning kicks. I think they call him up a game or two and see him right up to the active roster in Codrington's roster spot fairly quickly. Wonder what they would all run a 40 in today? -
Aside from the topic of Josh's struggles, I think there is something to that. Most of these guys at the skill positions on offense, Palmer, Samuel, Moore specifically have worked under other OCs in the NFL. They know how they have been used successfully. They know what the issue is.

Joe B article - Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, Gabe Davis
BuffaloBillyG replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
So we agree, he may see WR2 type targets. Kincaid is out for the foreseeable future. A week at best but I'd predict two almost certainly with the next game on a Thursday. Palmer is working his way back. Shakir, as you point out Davis doesn't play from the slot. So boundary targets, one could argue Gabe would get the most of considering Josh has worked with him longer than Palmer and Coleman combined. I feel like Josh would have the most trust there -

BuffaloBillyG replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree, he was good at sideline catches and an occasional deep ball. And he NEVER should have been asked to be WR2. BUT on this offense, this year...where would he slot in now? Maybe you could force an argument that Palmer would be WR1? But that would likely be Gabe at....WR2 again. -

Joe B ranking of all players through 9 games
BuffaloBillyG replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't know what metric he used to grade, but man those bottom 7 match what I've seen from the good old fashioned "eye test" I strongly disagree with him on Bishop who has looked far better then the metric he has assigned. -
I don't disagree with you here. There should have been some kind of pivot. Some kind of back up plan. And there may have well been. Maybe Shaheed was a pivot plan, but the Saints closed the deal with the Seahawks before ours fell through. Maybe he had a pivot plan to another team for a player we haven't even thought about. But teams talk. Once other teams found out the deal with Miami fell through and it was closing in on deadline time....they upped their asks to try and take advantage. We don't know what we don't know.

I'm honestly shocked that these guys didn't miraculously heal and be fine for this game.
