  1. I think if we go back and look at that God awful Chiefs message board from back when they traded Hill many would have been saying their window was over... rebuild as well. They went on to win the next 2 Super Bowls. So, to your point, I agree that anything is possible and with Allen we always have the possibility of catching fire late and running the table. This will be a new look team come week 1. Many of the vets we have grown accustomed to seeing as team leaders and core players are gone. We have seen who steps up to take their place both on the field and in the locker room as leaders. Team captain vote this year should be telling. I think much of what we will see for the 2024 Bills will be the formation of the "new core" that with emerge going forward to the next window of opportunity. Playoffs would be a success this year IMO.
  2. Congratulations. You just figured out what playoff football is all about.
  3. Hopefully, this Diggs trade brings people to the board faster and picks get made quicker😂😂
  4. Nah. I believe it's more they finally realized that the old "run it back, we're close" just wasn't working. Let's see what they do from now to week 1, though.
  5. Short term...D However we now have an extra 2nd round pick and this trade clears about $27M off next year's Salary Cap. Let's see what they do with all the assets the trade brought first.
  6. Let's see what the draft brings. Revisit what we need after that. We also have money coming June 2nd and may not be done making moves. Patience. We don't play a game for a while yet.
  7. If I'm reading it correctly, this trade appears to have opened up about $27M in 2025 cap space. I'm not mad at that at all.
  8. Keenen Allen was just traded for a 4th rounder. Getting a 2025 2nd rounder isn't bad in comparison. Both aging WRs. $31M of dead space is what it is. Now go look at what it does for the cap space in 2025. This is a move that hurts now but may pay dividends for a long time to come. Let the plan play out. Best case it works well. Worst case they messed up, we lose a year and many that want McD/Beane gone are closer to their wish.
  9. So for this off-season we have moved on from: Diggs Davis Morse Poyer Hyde White All "cornerstones" of a team that couldn't get past Kansas City when it counted. All have been either Pro Bowl or All Pro. Each one a team captain. I can respect the effort and everything those guys brought to Buffalo but in the end it just wasn't enough and I think Beane and McDermott recognized that Calling this anything other than a year where we rebuild and hope to stay competitive is foolish. Many moves we have made focus on gaining cap space for next season. And we really don't have that many free agents to re-sign. My bet is they are gearing up to make a TON of big moves next year and build excitement heading with the new stadium on the horizon. I don't expect any major move up the draft board. Let's see how the plan plays out.
  10. Wow. Um. Ok then. FWIW, Kincaid is now a MUST grab in fantasy. Big move...I'll wait to see how the plan plays out before I react too much.
  11. I see it a different way. There was 1 move and 1 non move this off-season that may mean more than at first glance when it comes to the future of Diggs next season. The Non Move: Notice even with having very little cap space this year one thing they have NOT done is restructure Stef's contract again. Doing that could have opened about an extra $13M in space for this season while kicking the can down the road. Not doing it means they are keeping the money where it's at and giving them a year to prepare for him to be moved either by trade or release at less long term financial risk. Now, they "could" still restructure him if something pressing happens, but sitting at almost $8M below the cap and getting $10M from the Tre White release on June 2nd means they are pretty set. The Move: Thought this flew under the radar a bit. But when they restructured Josh's deal they did NOT do it for max value of what they could have done. I believe Beane left $7M on the table. This would be key as that's money that will not increase the cap for next year and would soften the blow of a couple of large dead cap hits (namely Stef and Von) if needed. Right now, the Bills hold the cards on Stef's future in Buffalo. If he bounces back there's a chance that he may be here next year. But they have given themselves the flexibility to move on if what we saw on the back half of last year becomes the norm.
  12. A 4.87 40? Mike McDaniel would NEVER allow that😂😂 (But that is a good time for a DT)
  13. Breaking him in as a blocking TE/6th "OL" guy may be a path to a roster spot earlier while he developed. Being able to post up inside the red zone makes him a possible weapon if he can catch...and often times these ex-basketball players can as they are used to handling a ball.
  14. I have liked what Diggs has brought to the field year in and year out. I appreciate all of his dedication and efforts. But, yes his act is wearing thin and as long as we get his production replaced I won't be sad when he goes.
  15. Pierce really does come across as a build the trenches guy. He wants mean and nasty and to remake the old time "Raider Way". If successful, he could be the Dan Campbell of the AFC.
  16. I think the Daniels discourse should actually start at pick 3 in this mock. Daniels is likely off the board in the top 3 picks and if Washington doesn't take him (I think they will) New England will either run to the podium or take a deal for an unGodly amount of picks IMO from Minnesota. But I don't see any way they pass over Daniels for JJ McCarthy. That switch started the chaos 😂
  17. Honestly one of the most unbelievable "stats" in football is that Snead hasn't made a pick in the first round since 2016. That's just astonishing...and even more so that they have made 2 Super Bowls since that time. Flies in the face of almost every "unwritten rule" about team building.
  18. Agree. Drafting for the Giants I almost pulled that trigger on the QB, wouldn't shock me if they would in that spot. Will be interesting to see how the draft falls and perhaps the plan we have comes to fruition.
  19. Question also becomes...how do they sell that idea to Rodgers? Would he be happy his eventual replacement is drafted rather than something that could help him in the short term? And what kind of say so are they allowing him to have in the draft process?
  20. Fair question. I feel like he still has some upside. The things he still does do well would mesh really nicely in our offense. I think he can handle being the head of a committee for a week or two should Cook miss a bit of time. He's also had big game NFL experience, which IMO is something that you can't replicate. The moment won't be too big for him should his number be called. He's not likely to every be a superstar, but he's a "steady Eddie" that could/should be inexpensive. He does lend some versatility. I also believe that because of his former draft status some look down on his ability and he's much more solid a player than given credit for. A change of scenery would do him some good.
  21. I hope they sign him. Frees up CEH who I would rather have as a possible vet RB2 in Joe Brady's offense.
  22. Yes and no. From a long term franchise perspective...sure, absolutely agree. Strong feeling is that the current staff has been given the "playoffs now or else" ultimatum. Spending a high 1st on a pick that won't likely help that goal may just cost Saleh/Douglas their job. They need impact players this year for sure.
  23. I agree and really wanted to pull the trigger on Jayden Daniels. If the draft played out like this I think that's exactly what Schoen does as well. I, myself however cannot take a QB this high and surround them with no support. Arguably, the biggest playmaking threat they have on offense just may be Devin Singletary. While he's a solid player....that's an issue. Robinson and Hyatt are nice pieces but haven't been consistent. Waller may retire and if he doesn't is comically overhyped at this stage of his career.
