People throw this "scheme guys open" saying around like its not the NFL. Coordinators arent scheming guys open into 25 yards of free space. The defenders are too smart and too fast. Your scheme may get a few yards of separation, but it takes both a good release and speed to beat man coverage even if you can get the scheme to work. Its not just scheme or players, it takes both at a high level of football.

I do see some progression in Keon's game. Despite the fumble yesterday his hands do seem to be better compared to last year. That said, I still think he is an underwhelming option at #1 or #2 in an NFL offense. He still lacks concentration at times, still doesnt appear to have mastered an NFL route tree, and leaves a lot to be desired getting off press man. The Bills didnt have the luxury of taking a project at WR that high in the draft.

I think you play Shaq the rest of the season, resign him to a 1 year deal next year and draft high at that position as well. We have to be done with Milano and WIlliams should be relegated to special teams.
-
I am not advocating to start him right off of IR. My point is to work him in so he can get the needed reps to not be a bust. Sitting on the bench when healthy isnt going to make him better either.

Whatever it takes. Just get him acclimated for the playoffs.

A Few Thoughts about the Pats Game - Post yours as well

In the short term you fix the defense by scoring more than 20 points. In the long term you get all of your players on that side of the ball healthy, and score more than 20 points. -
The Bills lost their best Fan this morning.

Sorry for your loss. -
Statistics are pointless if you limit them by year and losses. You're literally shaping them to say what you want, which is McDermott is no good. The Bills had the ball to win the game last year and didnt do it. If they score a touchdown last night on their final drive they likely win. But because you keep making statements without actually looking at the facts, lets compare Allen and Mahomes in the playoffs where they needed 30 points just to tie. Mahomes has been in that situation 6 times in his career and is 3-3. Allen 4 times and is 0-4. So if you have Mahomes and your defense cant deliver the win, you still have a 50% chance of winning the game. When you're the Bills your quarterback has never in his career done it. There is a difference between being great, and clutch in high pressure situations. Its the difference between being a great quarterback and a great champion. The greatest Quarterbacks win even when they play the best teams at their best. Josh is the highest paid player on the roster for a reason. Its time to stop blaming the defense and start looking at Josh when he has the ball in the 4th quarter in the game and cant do it. And just for further perspective this is the difference between Mahomes' and Allen's record in both the playoffs and the regular season when their defense allows 30 or more points. Mahomes 10-13 Allen 4-13

Was Drake Maye THAT good yesterday?

He is in his 2nd year and just outplayed arguably the best QB in the league. He is pretty darn good so far. -
Is the first head coach firing upcoming?
thenorthremembers replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall
They hired a worse Robert Saleh. I am not sure what made Glenn so enticing to owners as a head coaching candidate. His defenses were never ranked better than 19th the entire time he was with the Lions. Appears that Johnson prefers fake tough guys over coaching acumen. -
Again. McDermott's defenses have given up 1 more point a game in the playoffs than Belichicks. Again, the argument is today, at 73 years old that Belichick could do better with Allen than McDermott, he couldnt. Again, the super genius is now 83-101 in games without Brady. He's made the NFL playoffs in 3 of 11 seasons without Brady. What other proof do you guys need to show Belichick is a sub .500 coach without Tom Brady. No one is on Brady's level, but there is a QB in the AFC West who is going to be close by the time he ends his career.

No More Whiteouts again ever in Buffalo Bills history
thenorthremembers replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Didnt realize that. I guess Ill be seeing them again. -
The Bills offense had the ball to win the game last year in the AFC Championship game. Josh didnt recognize a blitz and lost the game. The year before that Bass misses a field goal to tie the game. The year before that the offense scored 10 points to lose to the Bengals. People point to McDermott because he is easier to hate than Allen. Two of three years they've been in the game to win it. What more do you want than to have your franchise QB with the ball in the 4th quarter to win a game?

Hopefully it accomplished its goal which was to sell more $110 dollar hoodies and jerseys. I am not sure it had anything to do with the outcome of the game, but I hope to never see those jerseys ever again. -
The Upcoming Trade Deadline: 2025 Edition
thenorthremembers replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Please God get a wideout who has speed and can run a full route tree. I dont even care if he's a good blocker. -
I put the statistics in another thread and wont do it here but McDermotts defenses have given up 1 more point on average in the playoffs than Belichick's have all time. Brady takes his team down the field and wins the AFC championship last year because he recognizes the blitz pre snap. The same fricking blitz mind you Josh didnt recognize again last night. The Patriots didnt win championships because Belichick is a genius, the Patriots won championships because they had the best at all time under center.

If Super Bowls are a team accolade, why is it that the best Quarterbacks win most of them? Brady, Manning, Mahomes have won almost half of the Super Bowls over the last twenty years. Belichick never one without Brady. Can you even name the coach Manning won his second with? Reid never won without Mahomes. If you want to put Josh Allen in the same class as Tom Brady go ahead, but its absolutely inane.

I've had this same argument here before. Being an elite QB does not make you Tom Brady. Belichick had the greatest QB of all time. Perhaps the greatest professional athlete and champion of all time. I know we all love Josh, but his name shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence as Brady's. 74 year old circus freak Belichick isnt brining Brady with him. I cant believe we are even having the conversation about Bill frickin Belichick right now.
