  1. Feel kinda bad for the guy here. I sure as heck wouldnt want my belly hanging out on tv. Still, it was fairly obvious Friday night that the Allouettes need either a new coach or a complete roster overhaul. This is outside of Manziel being terrible. The teams give a damn was on the wrong side of utterly complacent. Pretty obvious when you jump offside and then watch a back go 15 yards. Or when 10 guys allow their quarterback to sprint 40 yards to make a tackle on an interception when they were 30 yards closer to the ball carrier. Some of the worst football I have ever seen. Rivaled the 2016 Browns.
  2. Jerry Kramer was incredible tonight. Was happy I tuned in for that one.
  3. I remember reading a few articles about KB around the time his mother passed away. He, for a multitude of reasons, was having an incredibly hard time and the team wasn't really supportive of him. Including going to the press about the weight gain following her death. I am not sure many of us would react differently if we were in his position. I for one support the guy and hope he tears it up this year.
  4. It wasn't a GM. It was an owner forcing his GM to make the pick because a homeless guy promoted him to. The GM got fired. The owner hired a lawyer to replace him, and then fires him too. It's good to be the owner.
  5. Starting to wonder if Siran Neal, Austin Proehl, and Ray Ray McCloud start the year on the practice squad or come up with a season ending injury a week before cut downs.
  6. Montreal looks like the team at the start of every feel good chump to champ sports movie.
  7. 2nd pick was off a tipped pass one of us could have caught.
  8. Montreal just jumped off side and gave up a 15 yard run on the same play. This is some awful football
  9. Bad enough that TJ Graham is a starter.
  10. Yikes. Nothing good about that.
  11. Nothing else to do. May as well watch the CFL.
  12. Anyone still have tickets for this? Was supposed to take my son to boy scouts camp but had something fall through. Trying to make it up to the kid by taking him to blue and red.
  13. Kevin White, Dion Jordan, Justin Gilbert, Bjoern Werner?
  14. Total contract is one thing, but the per year numbers would speak to a much different scenario. The three highest paid by year wideouts are Brown- 17/yr Evans- 16.5/yr Hopkins 16.2/yr Defensive Tackles Cox 17.1/yr Short 16.1/yr Dareus 15.85/yr So, I think its closer than we think. In terms of what 3-4 Defensive Tackles make a year (the scheme Donald is currently in) Michael Brockers is the highest paid guy at 11.083/yr My chart is attempting to show that when comparing the players you mentioned in your previous post, the Wideouts meant more in terms of success in the playoffs. Lot of variables there, most notably quarterback.
  15. I wasn't saying the players aren't successful. What I am saying, especially in the Ram's case, is if you have to choose between paying a player who never has the ball in his hand, vs. a player who has the ball in his hand multiple times a game (Gurley or Goff) I am choosing the guy who has the ball. In the instances you brought up, lets just take DT vs. WR (not including Sapp and Joe Greene here because they both played in different eras- More ground and pound ball control offenses) Position Regular Season Win % Playoff Win % SB Appearances DT 54% 0% 0 WR 49% 50% 1 In this scenario, if I have both Antonio Brown and Aaron Donald on my team, I pay Brown 100% of the time.
  16. Correct, but outside of maybe Fletcher Cox with the Eagles, how many of those teams have been successful? My point is Defensive Tackles are a small piece of a broader puzzle, and I am not sure it's smart to give them big contracts
  17. Remember the fuss over the removal of video games last year? McDermott was going to kill the culture of closeness the players had created with FIFA games. Good on the Pegulas for this. Well done.
  18. Happy Birthday Coach. Met Marv when I worked at Walden Books at Eastern Hills Mall. He did an autograph signing for a book he wrote. Nice guy, very gracious. Took a lot of time with each person to talk and personalized their book. Funny story, I got an autograph for my Grandfather and sent it off to Florida. Two years later he called and said "hey I got this Marv Levy autographed book, thought you may want it." I now own a book that says To Don, with thanks and gratitude Marv Levy" My names not Don.
  19. Works for me. I just wonder if the Rams look at the value of the position they are paying and hesitate to pay a Defensive Tackle 20 million dollars a year. Again, Donald is a great players but the team is 28-36 since he has been in the league. They were great last year, but it was because they were outscoring everyone. Personally if I am paying guys that much money they better score touchdowns. Otherwise, they better play QB, LT or be my main Pass Rusher. Rams need to decide whether Donald in Phillips system is their #1 pass rusher from the DT spot.
  20. Aaron Donald is a great player. Can you name me one defensive tackle who got a huge contract, continued to do well, and whose play vaulted their team to contention? There may be one, but the players who come to mind for me are Haynesworth, Dareus and Suh.
  21. He is fine. The show starts at 7pm at night for God's sake. Given the other "talent" on that station, I'd say the kid is more than fine for that time slot. By 7pm what has happened during the day at training camp that hasn't already been beaten to death between the hours of 9pm and 6pm?
  22. I agree with you here. By the end of the year Hatley was getting snaps as well. I do hope he turns the corner and makes the team. Third round draft picks shouldnt be so easily disposable.
  23. I read this article yesterday and it didn't say he was "likely" to be cut. It said, he was in danger of being cut if he didn't turn the corner. "Based on what we saw last year from Washington and what we've seen so far in training camp, I would not at all be surprised if Washington ends up on the wrong side of the roster bubble when final cuts come down at the end of the preseason. He needs to turn it around and quickly before it's too late." If I remember it correctly, I think Joe B. had the same exact narrative about Adolphus last year and the guy ended up playing the second most snaps on the defensive line.
  24. Zay Jones Helps Grieving Family The Bills' wide receiver sent Dylan a game worn Bills cleat, a signed football, and a note with a very special message. "It said the condolences for your mother, and thank you for being a Bills fan," said Dylan. "It was so cool." Back in April, Dylan, Hannah and their younger sister Maggie lost their mother unexpectedly. They say this unexpected surprise from Zay means more than anyone can know. "The games meant a lot to her and every Sunday we'd watch it," said Hannah. "So just to know that something that she enjoyed so much is helping us get through it is making it ten times better for us." "Knowing what we're going through right now, it just amazing how he can reach out to me like that," added Dylan. Jones did more than just reach out. He made a lifelong impact in true Bills fashion. "It's just how Buffalo is," said Dylan. "When something goes down, everybody helps and is ready for everything so they help a lot." Medina is my community. The loss they are speaking about in this article ran pretty deep. It's great to be a Buffalo Bills fan, and Zay just made a lot of fans in Orleans County. Well done young fella.
  25. It was a lot easier back in the day. In 2005, I went to three practices and ended up with 12 autographs at the end of the summer. You were able to get down closer to the field then. They also did a better job of spacing the crowd out. Took my then 5 year old son two years ago and it was an absolute zoo when the players came out to sign. People lost their minds over Cardale Jones and started pushing my son up against the barriers. I hope the "grown ups" yelling "Yo 12 gauge" while shoving an Ohio State Mini Helmet at him made the money they spent on the helmet back when they sold it on eBay.
