Honestly, Ill take someone who turns the ball over deep, essentially punting the ball, than someone who wont throw it because they are scared of it. The guy is one year removed from 32 touchdowns to 12 ints, and a 12-4 record. I dont think he suddenly stops throwing ints, and he is for sure at the end, but I wouldnt take Taylor over him right now. But, for what its worth Taylor is probably a better bridge QB to a rookie because its easier to rip the band aid off, than do it like the Giants did with Eli.

I would think the Colts make perfect sense given his relationship with Reich. But Florida is a long ways from Indianapolis. It depends on which Tyrod you're getting. His last year here was insufferable. By the playoff game he wasn't throwing the ball anymore. I will say it as long as I live, Bortles vs. Taylor was the absolute worst quarterbacking I've ever seen in a game, simply because both refused to play quarterback.

They are resigning them because they have said they want to set an example by paying guys who have been exemplary in the building and on the field. You may not want to pay Poyer that money, but I feel very strongly he is going to get it. On Dawkins, and Milano you dont wait their contracts expire to pay them. You show you're a good organization by paying those players, the year leading up to guys contracts expiring. I dont disagree on White, but I think they will pay him the contract he has earned rather than letting him play for 6 million this year. Like I said, I could very well be wrong. I just dont see them paying two guys who have never been in the building 20 million dollars a year, when they have Captains and Leaders on the team making anywhere from 800k-1.3 million dollars a year in the case of Milano and Dawkins. This we can agree on. Go get someone like Kevin Pierre-Louis or David Mayo.
-
I guarantee after extending Dawkins, Milano, Poyer, and White you will have eaten up somewhere between 45 and 55 million of that 90 million dollar cap. Especially, if they add the average a year salary onto what those players are already supposed to make in 2020 to front load and save money in subsequent years. Resign Shaq, and you have spent 55-65 million in just resigning your own guys. I dont expect them to spend to the cap, I expect them to keep a 10-15 Million dollar pool to roll over, because next year they will need to look into extending other players, and making sure the have the long term money to pay Allen and Edmunds. We will have to agree to disagree, but I think fans here better get used to names like Daryl Williams, Bryan Bulaga, Isaiah Crowell, DeAndre Washington, Kyle Love, and Corey Liuget rather than Ngaekou, Cooper, and Henry. They want to draft and develop the guys they pay, last year was different because they were building a core after coming back from burning the roster to the ground.

The cap goes up yes, but the inflation of contracts go up to match the rising cap. If you think they can easily extend White, Dawkins, Milano and Poyer then have the money to bring back a guy like Lawson and then still have cap to go get one of two twenty million dollar a year guys like Cooper or Ngaekou and still have cap to offer Hooper or Henry Id say you play too much Madden or grossly underestimate what they are going to have to pay their own players. White alone probably gets an average of 17 million a year. Then Dawkins, Milano and Shaq will all be between 9 and 12.5 a year.
-
Potentially, but keep in mind they will need carry over cap for guys like Tremaine as well. They will need to front load White, Dakwins, and Milano, because as sickening as it sounds if the cap gets to 224 million Allen's 5th year option may end up being around 34 million dollars if QB's keep getting contracts like they are.

On Ngakoue, I have no clue why anyone thinks he is getting anything less than 19 or 20 million dollars a year. Frank Clark got 20 million last year on a 188.2 million dollar cap Trey Flowers got 18 Million last year on a 188.2 million dollar cap Ngaekou is younger than both those players, and is more productive than both of those players. Why would a younger, more productive player, on a larger salary cap suddenly get less money? It doesnt make any sense. Logic and inflation would tell you his Projected salary shouldnt be anything under 22 million dollars a year. And if teams get into a bidding war he will be the highest paid edge rusher, 3-4 or 4-3 in the league, easy. Its fun to talk about Ngaekou, Cooper, Austin Hooper and Hunter Henry. But once the Bills pay White, Milano, Dawkins and Poyer those guys will not be in play, 82 Million goes away relatively quickly when you have to pay your own players, and the Bills have to, this year and for the next few years. Bills fans better get more acquainted with the second and third level of free agents, because I would be amazed if Beane gave out a 20 million dollar contract to a guy who has never been in the building.

He is a hard study. Colorado was absolutely abhorrent to watch on offense, the offensive line had Montez scrambling before he was able to catch the snap, and Montez was incredibly inaccurate. That said, Shenault doesnt run a full route tree, doesn't turn the corner like a guy you'd be picking in the 1st round, and is very inconsistent blocking. He was a good wideout at the college level, but he isn't some 6'2 220 burner who is a lock to go in the 1st round.
-
If Ruggs, Higgins, and Shenault are all available there is absolutely no way you should take Shenault, none. If Ruggs measures 6'0 190, and runs a 4.22 liked expected he needs to be the guy, with another larger compliment being drafted in the 4th round like Bryan Edwards, or Collin Johnson. Ruggs is better than Shenault in every aspect of playing wide receiver, including blocking which is kind of crazy given he is 30 pounds lighter. If Jeudy, Lamb, and Ruggs are all gone by the time the Bills pick I'd expect them to go EDGE or Corner.

Jacob Hollister/TE - FA Option

If you watch Josh's 2017 film this guy shows up a lot. I was surprised he went undrafted. Why not. -
Another tragedy hits Jeremy White

Man, cant even imagine. Praying for peace, and a strong anchor. -
This is why people werent sure about him coming into the draft. He has a seriously hard time throwing outside the hashes. Baltimore's scheme was incredible this year. They had people so scared of the run that everyone sucked on the play action fakes, and Lamar had easy throws to tight ends down the middle of the field. Going to have to throw to wideouts if he wants long term success. Better hope Roman sticks around as well.

Collison Low Crossers was was very very good. Next Man Up was another good read about the on-goings inside a professional football operation. If you're into X's and O's The Art of Smart Football is a good starter. My wife bought me Bill Belichick on Football for Christmas and that's been a nice read on how to put a team together. A couple interesting quotes "You do anything you can to win within the confines of the rules, you dont want to pass the line where you're cheating." Ironic considering, but brought to mind how often they use rub routes, which is clearly cheating. The other brought to mind Joe Judge "You're always happy when someone on your staff gets an opportunity, but when their opportunity turns into you losing resources thats where the line is crossed. Again, happy for them, but the way they build their program should not come at a deficit for ours." Always wanted to start a blog or a podcast as well, watching film and writing summaries is my hobby, but I am not sure I have the extra time for the getting it onto the internet piece. Read Collison Low Crossers, you'll love it. Ten times the book Anonymous is.

It's incredible how poor the talent at major college programs to be. Watching film of guys like Shenault and Aiyuk is mind numbing at times becasue their olines cant block and their quarterbacks cant play.

Target WR Breshad Perriman FA Tampa Bay
thenorthremembers replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He benefited a ton from injuries last season. Tampa Bay had no choice but to target him. Hard not to worry about giving money to a player who would be on his fourth team in five years who has drop issues. Too many other options this year to warrant paying him. -
Another Patriot arrested

Bill needs to pay his PIs better. Seriously though, how do you keep getting it this wrong. -
One of the guys I am surprised isn't rated higher. Doesnt provide much in the way of position flex, but if you're talking strictly an X wideout he is an absolute beast. Has to prove he can run the route tree, but man do I like his nastiness.

A.J. Brown from the Titans reminds me a lot of Moulds. A

Totally agree on the Book thing, he under threw him a lot on 9 routes, it was kind of frustrating. I also agree he is faster than Pittman, just not by a lot. Where I disagree is on the contested catch thing. He was inconsistent there. When I compare him with Pittman I just think Jr. is more of a nuanced player. Finds the zone better, runs better routes near the line of scrimmage, blocks better and those are the things I'd look for in a pure X wideout. We will see though, and as a Notre Dame guy I am hoping you're right.
-
I think thats a great comparison, Deebo was a 4.48 guy and thats exactly where I expect Aiyuk to come out. I think Samuel was much better with the ball in his hands that Aiyuk showed over his two years at Arizona State, but I think Aiyuk is more of a threat at the second level. Arizona State tried to get Aiyuk in space on screens and flats but it just didnt seem to take. He isnt slow by any means, he just seems to be more of a build up fast guy than sudden. I am a big Notre Dame guy, and love some of the highlight reel catches Claypool made while there, but I just dont think he has enough speed to be a full time NFL wideout. Way too big of a guy to struggle with contested catches, and his release at the LOS may be an issue. If he was a better blocker I'd say move him to off the ball tight end. I think he will be a project. If you want a big wideout you have to go Pittman Jr. over Claypool.
-
Not sure I like Aiyuk as much as others seem to. He is a good route runner, offers you position flexibility, special teams, high points because of his long arms but I am not a huge fan of his hands or speed. I can see him as a mid to high 4.4 guy but at 5'11 I'd much rather him show more speed in space.

So How Happy is McCoy Now ?
thenorthremembers replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think there is no chance. The guy is around 1000 yards behind Thurman and has him in touchdowns. He is not a first ballot guy by any means, but I do think long term he will be considered or make it. On the Lynch thing, you may have me. Its debatable as Shady missed some games and still had more total yards, but Lynch has him in touchdowns.
