I did a lot of stupid things when I was young. I also coach football like he does at his camps. I've never called a kid a slur and got in a fight with his Mom over it because I grew up. This incident with calling kids slurs just happened last summer, he wasnt 21. Its awesome to give back to your community. A lot of people do, it doesnt make you a saint just because you show up. The good part is showing up and providing a role model for kids to change their lives. Not just to continue being what is acceptable in a horrible condition. I am sorry but just because he coaches football and gives from his abundance of money doesnt make him a good guy, when he does it and provides a bad example for the kids. And just for argument sake, if you took your kid to a camp and the guy running it called them a slur, would you continue to think he was a "good guy"?

I dont disagree. My point is the media attached itself to Lynch because of the Beastmode, Skittles, Doesnt Care about Authority attitude. He was like the antihero. You want to tell that to the Mom he got in a fight with for calling her kid a slur? Or the person he hit with his car? He isnt a good guy. He is a guy with money who puts himself out in front of his neighborhood by providing another in a long list of horrible role models. Just because you have the means to make yourself a role model, doesnt mean you are one.

No they were good backs. There is a contingent that thinks Lynch belongs in the HoF when he hasnt had as good a career as someone like LeSean McCoy. Lynch was great for four years out of a 12 year career. Otherwise he was just another runningback.

Its not uncommon for football players to graduate in three years. A. He probably was early enrollment B. He majored in Social Welfare and C. I would bet good money he didnt do a whole lot of studying by himself during those years. I would also venture to say that a guy who was a consensus first round draft pick, and was a shoe in to make millions of dollars had a fair amount of help from the university in graduating given the potential for large donations. I am sorry but if you want to convince me that a guy who swears at children, hits a woman with his car, brings his own alcohol to nightclubs, and hides in closets to avoid the police is a member of mensa you arent going to get far. Additionally, was and continues to be one of the most hyped and overrated players at his positions because he acts like a clown and eats skittles. People want to talk about the guy like he is a great back when he is essentially in the same class as guys like Ricky Williams and Eddie George.

I dont think anyone was looking at the video and saying, look at this guy from Oakland who cant speak well. You're projecting a bit there. Also, give me a break on the Cal Berkeley garbage, he didnt attend college to major in Chemical Biology. He went to Cal for Football.

The one player who continually makes me feel like I have no idea about football is Tremaine Edmunds. I know he is young, but I just dont feel like he is a difference maker, yet I am constantly told how good he is and what a freak he is. I actually thought he was better the second half of his rookie season than he was this year. He reminds me a lot of the Sammy Watkins stuff. Everyone keeps telling you he is on the cusp of being an all-pro and they remind you every season, and then its season seven and it never happened.

He's missed games in 5 out of 6 seasons. Averages 6 sacks a year and is going on 27 years old. Again, I think he is an exceptional edge setter. But no way in hell am I paying anywhere near 20 million dollars a season for a guy who isn't in the top five in the league is sacks. He is a good player. But he isn't the type of game changer that guys like Khalil Mack, Von Miller, and Chandler Jones are. He isnt even the best pass rusher in his own free agency class.

I'll tell you what I aint doing. I aint paying no sorry defensive end 7 million dollars a sack. I aint paying him that, not to sit there and watch him collect his check and not play a full season, I'd hate that.

CBS compares Bills to Bears

The similarities between Trubisky and Allen start and end with being white and having spotty beards. -
Mike Mularkey retires from coaching

This is the first thing I thought of too. Very thin skinned. -
I dont know. Averaging 3500 yards, 24 touchdowns to only 8 ints a year just isnt enough.... Wait, yes it is. You're right. There is this weird way of thinking amongst NFL fans that if your QB isn't Drew Brees, Patrick Mahomes, or Aaron Rodgers they automatically suck. Wentz is an above average QB who really could use some wideouts. Not for nothing, I wouldnt say the Eagles really "have a problem" they have a winning record over the last four years including a super bowl win. I'd like to have that "problem".

Call your shot (2020 NFL Draft)
thenorthremembers replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, I think Jeudy, Lamb, Ruggs and Higgins will all be gone. As such, Matos should be the pick. From what I've seen I think Thomas is a bad comparison for Shenault. Thomas is long and lean and plays with a great catch radius, where as Shenault is built more like a big runningback. Shenault is somewhere around twenty pounds heavier than Thomas. When I watch Laviska I think his ceiling is more like Dez Bryant. -
The Rooney Rule (still) isn’t working?
thenorthremembers replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think things like the Rooney rule are the very thing that promote color barriers. Mike Tomlin didnt get the Steelers job because he was the best Rooney Rule coach he got it and kept it because he was the best coach for the job, period. The analyst want to be up in arms about the lack of minority coaches but have no issue with the lack of asian, latino and white players in the league, its backwards. -
What % did Josh improve from yr1 to yr2?
thenorthremembers replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He went from somewhere near the bottom of the league to a top 15 player at his position. -
I am not surprised he isnt getting interviews, only because he is a DC on a team where the Head Coach is a defensive guy. If it was 100% him, it may be different. However, to your point about the years of experience, he lost exactly two more games than Belichick did in his 1st three years in Cleveland. A quarterback makes a hell of a difference.

Offense Starters for 2020
thenorthremembers replied to KingBoots8's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not entirely true, he gave up a game breaking sack in the playoff game. Additionally his run blocking is inconsistent to say the least. I just dont see them giving a 29 year old guy who is an inconsistent blocker a contract extension. The O-Line was better this year, but they still weren't good enough. I see not signing him as a chance to upgrade the line, and it does need upgrading. I very well could be wrong. Remember this, if they resign him, Cody Ford is your Right Tackle next year. Its a PFF stat. -
Offense Starters for 2020

I am of the mind they let Spain walk. He and Ford were the worst players on the line this year, and Ford was a 2nd round pick so he gets time. I imagine they move Ford to one of the guard spots and let Spain walk.
