Ed Oliver in walking boot..per Matt Parrino
ticketssince61 replied to Watching since 1964's topic in The Stadium Wall
A. Oliver would be a major setback as everyone already mentioned, by far our best defensive player. Without him, we lose the Ravens game B. Not sure how injured anyone is, but almost all of our cornerbacks/DB are on there (not even including Hairston on IR) 1. Benford 2. Codrington 3. Hancock 4. Johnson 5. Tre' C. Also interesting that 8 of the 11 are on defense. -
Interesting in-game convo between Shakir and Palmer

Agree we need more balance, but possibly one of the reasons we lose when JA throws 40, is that we are behind and having to play catchup. Against the Ravens, he threw 21 passes in JUST the 4th quarter because we were down by 2+ scores -
Have the Jets ever felt like a real rival?
ticketssince61 replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
For a true rivalry, - it has to be a 2 way rivalry - they have to play meaningful games against each other - it cannot be one sided - i.e. one team wins all of the time In the 70's we always considered Miami a rival since we lost to them 20x in a row. But to the Dolphins, the Bills were inconsequential. The same goes for the Belichik/Brady Patriots we hated them because they ALWAYS beat us, but they could have cared less about the Bills. Now that the tables have turned on the Dolphins and Pats - that WE beat them all of the time - I don't have any passion about those games The same might apply to the Chiefs since they have beaten us every time in the playoffs As one poster mentioned earlier, we really have not played any meaningful games against the Jets, and our only playoff game against them was in 1981 -

Does he still have the Buffalo shaved into his hairdo?

Did the Bills win, or di the Ravens lose?
ticketssince61 replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would rather play anyone than them. They are just a BAD matchup for us In retrospect, it was fortunate, we did not make the 2 point conversion. Would have give the Ravens the ball with a chance to win, and if not, in OT anything can happen, and we do not do well in OT -
How much better is the Ravens team on paper than the Bills?
ticketssince61 replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
We didn't do much against their Defense until they started playing soft in the 4th Quarter. (the infamous prevent defense that only prevents you from winning!) Also, in the 4th Quarter, I think their defense got gassed - combo of early in the season and their offense not taking any time off the clock -
What’s your favorite Bills opening day game?

Coaches having the ability talk directly through a headset to the QB to call plays could make a big difference -

But he is 32 years old. Does he have anything left in the tank? Look at Poyer last year with the dolphins who was way too old and way too slow -
Should Buffalo cut all their backup QBs?
ticketssince61 replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
Totally agree. plus anybody we bring in would not know the playbook and would take time to get chemistry with the receivers. ... but it would be possible to cut one and bring in someone else for the PS -
Thanks - I did not notice that - as you said - 2 of the Int's were thrown by non QB's - who were a combined 5 of 13 They might have 2 NFL Records there: 1. Most Passes thrown by non QB 2. Most INT's thrown by non QB

The 10 longest Home games runs in Buffalo Bills history
ticketssince61 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thank you for the correction. -
Actually it was 18 TD and 45 Interceptions. And for Tripucka it was an improvement over the previous year when he threw 34 The next year George Blanda threw a still NFL record 42 INT's in 14 Games yet team was 11-3 and he was selected 2nd team All AFL What a great time to have been a DB !

The 10 longest Home games runs in Buffalo Bills history
ticketssince61 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would not have guessed ANY of them The one with Antowain Smith was actually a "fake" TD. IIRC we were up by 1 point and could have run out of the clock so the Colts let him score Colts got the ball back and scored a TD but missed the 2 point conversion to tie the game Both on the road The video is actually the 10 longest runs in HIGHMARK not all Bills History -
Total revenue [$551] minus Player Expenses [$282] = $269 but op income is $101. What makes up the $159 of additional expenses? How much is for coaches/GM/employees? stadium lease pmts? travel? .... ???

Not just a 1:00 game - the ONLY 1:00 game until the Tampa Bay November 16th

1. The list of QB's is for their ENTIRE career not just their first 7 years. for example, Aaron Rodgers has 1 super bowl appearance in 20 seasons. 2. Many of the head coaches were in the league when you required fewer wins to make the super bowl. Now with teams generally having 3 games to make the super bowl, it is both a) harder to make and b) easier to gather wins

Met him 2X - his rookie year at training camp - he was up against the goalpost surrounded by throngs of people looking for autographs - at the game against the Jets (sometime in the 80's) where his jersey was retired. Saw him leaving the owner's box and ran after him to get him to sign the poster they had given out from a purely football perspective, still think he was the greatest RB of all time. From a personal life perspective, one of the worst RB's of all time
