I want to have faith in him SO bad. If he gets 10+ sacks, we will be a GREAT defense again. I'm obviously rooting for him but I don't have high hopes. I think our D-Line depth will be the best it's been in years with the rookies we brought in. I hope we limit some of the times we rotate Oliver. He was phenomenal last year and if he can replicate that, he should never leave the field. If Oliver and DQJ replicate last year and Carter can be serviceable as a rookie... our edges will have a much easier time. Our defense should be absolutely lights out. I'm not as worried about or offense as some... we have 17 and that's all that matters.

TL's career was started with Urban Meyer and then he was fired mid-season. That is a VERY tough way to start a career. In his first year with Pedersen he showed a ton of growth and then dealt with injuries last year. Fields had the same head coach his entire tenure with Chicago. I think he had the same OC, as well.

What to do with the post June $10 M that will be available
warrior9 replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
Depending on how Von looks, maybe Ngokoue? Maybe Ogbah? Other than that, Worley/Simmons someone in secondary. It may also be smart to let it sit until training camp to address injuries if / when they happen. -
Man, I used to read your stuff and agree but your takes have been hard to agree with this off season dude. You’d rather have ETN, Gabe Davis (who we didn’t want to resign), And Christian Kirk over our weapons?! YIKES youd rather have a 32 year old DHop, Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd, and Tony Pollard over the Bills offense?! Ouch.
-
Per the bolded: THE TITANS?! Dude, they have Will Levis at QB a 32 year old Hopkins and Ridley that disappeared in many games last year. Better weapons than the Bills? Jags?! Who on their team would you take over who we have on our team at any skill position? Texans: I can understand this but they had the worst schedule in the league last year and they don't this year. It will be a telling year for them. It's so odd to me that your sentiment would be SO different if we drafted a guy that looks like this instead of Coleman (and yes, you wouldn't be as critical at ALL if we drafted this twig) :

Caleb Williams is off to a rough rookie start
warrior9 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I do not like Caleb Williams but he didn’t have Rome, Allen, Davis, or Darnell Wright in practice. Could be a factor there. -
What did his 40 look like in these games? Was he able to get off the line? I read here that big bodied receivers have a harder time getting off LOS vs someone small and fast

Xavier Worthy injured during 1st practice as a Chief
warrior9 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was told by many here that a 6'1 169 pound guy can be our number 1 and the weight wouldn't be an issue because small quick guys are hard to jam off the line ... LOL You would have believed he was the second coming with how some on the board talked about him man. He's so good that our GM traded back instead of taking him. But yeah, we didn't get "our guy" to some. I am ABSOLUTELY shocked, a guy that looks like this is getting injured, to be honest. -
Harrison Butker…oy vey…what a commencement “speech”
warrior9 replied to eball's topic in Off the Wall
Or really rich dudes that it's realistic that their wife doesnt have to work and she's happily a stay at home mom so he formulated his opinion off of that and being a catholic traditionalist.. I don't agree with it but if i was worth 10+ M .. my wife would probably be stay at home, as well. -
So you're saying there's a chance?

How do you feel about the Bills upcoming team/schedule?
warrior9 replied to Gman10's topic in The Stadium Wall
We won our division........ we still would have made the play offs. This would not have affected us in any capacity. -

warrior9 replied to Gman10's topic in The Stadium Wall
What do their injuries have to do with anything? We went 1-1 vs the Jets, lost to the Jags, and lost to the Bengals... We won the division. Those injuries affected us and play off appearance chances .. 0% -
WR trade candidates, who do you want?
warrior9 replied to Einstein's Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because Gabe lost us 2 games last year and disappeared later in the season, dealt with injuries for a few years, and had costly drops. It's not hard to upgrade there (unless you're talking about blocking). He was hardly a threat. I'm sure Coleman will be better because he can catch, run after catch, and is far more athletic than Gabe. Using a contract to tell how good someone is... does not correlate. We can go down a long list of people that has massive contracts and weren't great afterward. If Bills thought he was good, they would have resigned him. Of course you need insurance. Samuel was here because we needed 2 WRs to start. Samuel would have been here whether we kept Diggs or not.. that signing is not a reflection of the Coleman draft. I don't think MVS will have much impact on this team. -

warrior9 replied to Einstein's Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ok, Coleman will be better than Gabe and Shakir was better than Diggs down the stretch, which is undeniable. if the topic is WR, why are you worried so much? chiefs won with their TE being their top choice 3 times in 5 - 6 years… we’ll be fine. We won without Gabe and Diggs down the stretch…? Not to mention: EVEN IF we had a better WR room last year (which we didn't), we can get away with it being worse this year because of the emergence of Cook and Kincaid, unsure how you don't see this? again, if you don’t understand the value of getting younger with better talent, I have nothing to say. -

warrior9 replied to Einstein's Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall
We did not have better WR's .... Gabe and Diggs were non-existent last year down the stretch. Our three best receivers (cook is one) down that stretch are back, are rookies to 3 years in the NFL.. you don't see the value in that? Do you seriously not understand the value of a 22 y/o, young TE that is budding, and a receiving threat that is 23/24? If not, I can't help you.. -

If any trade were going to happen, this would be it. This board is obsessed with trading for a WR and it's just not going to happen. Beane said in his post draft interview that this was an infusion of youth off season. I think they believe we are more than set at WR and I agree. If I had to guess, they see Kincaid forming into a #1 option while Coleman develops this year. They see Samuel being a defacto #1 WR while Shakir plays the slot. We are more than fine at WR since #17 is our QB. We don't have big names because we got rid of our only "big name" so people panic. We will have a new "big name"(or #1) by the end of the season whether it's any of the mentioned above is to be determined. -
This. Elam WILL play this year. Burks can't stay on the field. This year is going to be huge for Elam, I just hope McDermott doesn't keep him in the dog house for a reason that makes no sense. He needs to play to get better. When he played in the playoffs last year, there were SO many flashes but the rust was palpable. After watching that game (I believe wild card game), I came away thinking, "He got so much better as the game went on, maybe he just needs to play to learn and grow." Some people just don't get enough / learn by mere practice. Because Bills fans NEED a name for some reason. It was Higgins, then Aiyuk, then Deebo, now it's Burks... it won't stop. Once people realize that the Chiefs won a SB with MVS as their #1 WR, they will relax but Bills fans are soooo set on other names. Burks has been absolutely ABYSMAL in Tennessee lol

Calling it now: You're all about to witness the arrival of Shakir
warrior9 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think you're last "calling it now" was Bills make AFCCG. Do you just pick things and say that so you can say "I told you so!" if it happens? He was literally our best WR down the stretch. We now have Samuel, Hamler, and Coleman on the outside. We have Kincaid at Flex/ TE... is this some.... insane take that only you have or something? I believe most of us think this.... -
Probably some of that and probably some of it wanting to get younger with more knowledge of today's game. It's probably all encompassing. Recognizable faces too. Those that are 18-25 don't know who Phil, Boomer, Terry, etc are (and if they do, they can't relate to them).
-
Not the Falcons...... LOL.. My assessment is this: We didn't have a lot of holes per se, we needed to get younger and add depth at certain positions, which we did. We replaced guys we lost with younger prospects. Out of this class if we get 3 starters, we're in REALLY good shape. If either of our DE's are more than serviceable in 2 years..... we will be in great position. The Chiefs traded Hill and won the Superbowl.

What's the point of this team's philosophy?
warrior9 replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because this isn't fking Madden. Bills fans are insufferable man.
