  1. What i found for this season for the most part is that there just really aren't too many quality teams to watch this year. There just seems to be a lot of average teams and that makes for just an average watching experience. Shaw, you've been around for a while.......do you remember the slugfests in the 80's and early 90's? Do you remember the quality of the players and teams? Do you remember the rivalries? Do you remember where every game felt like it meant something, and it usually did when there was a lot of pride on the line between franchises.......the House of Pain, the House of Noise, etc. It felt like every game was well worth watching for the experience. The players had a chip on their shoulders and the rivalries alone were worth tuning in every week (San Fran vs. Dallas, Bills vs. Miami, etc.).......an era where you had the likes of Elway, Kelly, Marino, Rice, Okoye, Thomas, White, etc. The quality of play was better. The refs didn't dictate the game and yes, the game was rougher, but guys were allowed to tackle without fear of the flag on every play. It feels to me that the NFL has been "dumbed down" for this era and especially this year it has been less than average watching experience for the fans. I'm a big college guy, have been for many years and i enjoy college ball tons more than i enjoy the NFL.....it used to be that i would watch every NFL game and now i only watch the Bills, but if there were more meaningful rivalries, i would watch more as the watching experience would mean more. As it stands now, there is no rivalry outside of the Bills that even warrants my interest.
  2. Wait......what?!? He is a part of their issues. Miami has talent on that roster, there's no doubt about that, however, if the HC can't lead these guys every week, then that talent is wasted, which is what's happening with the Fins these days. They are imploding. The owner......the GM.....the HC......in that order, so he's about 33.3% the issue.
  3. Soup.......soup is on the friggin menu. Just had some dental work done, can't talk, mouth is killing me. When you think of the Bills, you think of soup. Aye Carumba
  4. Wasn't Orchard Park his last choice?........and Detroit was where his heart was? I seem to recall that many, many years ago (i might be wrong).
  5. I just puked a bit in my mouth...........UGH
  6. That was a bad day, that was
  7. Jesus, my day would have been a lot better off not seeing that
  8. I'm not seeing a whole lot of competition in the AFC this year........KC, Ravens and Houston, that's about it. This might be a good year to try to make a run.
  9. I was initially thinking yes, but that's awfully steep. If ole Beane can hit on something tangible in the draft, we've got quite a few picks next season, so anything is possible.
  10. Yep, damaged goods.....time to move on.
  11. I worked for a guy named McNulty one time......i didn't like him. I'm just throwing this out there......do with it what you will.
  12. It would seem our strategy is more like, pass and pass the buck
  13. I have no idea where this place is headed right now, but i'm strapping in for the ride
  14. Oh, those kickers think they are just so smug
  15. Some ThunderDome action......2 men enter, one man leaves
  16. Unless you speak of McD like he is a god amongst men, then you are considered a bad fan.
  17. Any time we don't have Diggs on the roster, we are in a better position
  18. Soccer and NFL kicking is a pretty repetitive motion.......a leg swinging motion, when you kick the ball.
  19. If i was in his position and probably never be drafted (or drafted very high) then sure, take that NIL all day long for as long as you can.
  20. I think soccer is more comparable to NFL kickers........they both have one job to do, just kick the ball.
  21. It's not even comparable, there's a lot of aspects to golfing......the type of clubs, the grip, the swing, the ball, the lay, the distance, etc. Kicking is kicking......the ball is the same in every game, the kickers leg is the same in every game, the kick is the same in every game. The only things that would be comparable would be weather and distance and if those two things are scaring a kicker and making him lose his confidence, then perhaps it's time for a new line of work.
  22. I never understood how a kicker could go from decent to piss poor. Like, what exactly changed?.......you kick the ball every week and next week, you kick it again. It's not like the FO is putting more aspects on his game......he kicks the ball. He's not running with it, he's not catching it, he's not throwing it, he's not making tackles......he has one job to do, kick the ball. Maybe he has no confidence in his game?........well, i have no confidence in his game either. But, even if a kicker loses his confidence, at the end of the day, he is still only kicking the ball.......give me that money, i'll kick that thing all day long (i'm not very good and my salary will reflect that, but even so.......). I couldn't imagine going into that office and saying, "coach, i've lost my confidence and i can't kick this ball anymore".......how in the hell do you lose confidence kicking a ball?
  23. I never thought of it before, but you make a good case
  24. The best part is teams now have to gameplan around Cooper and that's going to open up some mismatches. That there, is a damn good trade.
