The Bills Aren't a Top-Tier Team Yet
freddyjj replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks @Shaw66 I was trying to put my finger on it over the week off. I do believe the revamped OL after the bye may help the run game and we will know by playoffs if a new RB is in order. A big 1T /NT is in order for 2021 given Star's age and the results YTD. I don't see Harrison Philips coming back next year. And A LB who can play the middle may be in order if Milano moves on - I would move Edmunds to WLB then. Would let him run and chase without an OL on him. The other missing link IMHO is a down the seams TE. Watching Andrews and Kelce yesterday made me want to ask Santa for one this year. -
So just sayin... And the winning Powerball #'s are....

Who is your favorite Place Kicker in Bills history?
freddyjj replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is this the Stream of Consciousness Forum or the TSW? Cmon OP? Another thread? So my favorite kicker is the one that stays on the bench because we score a TD vs a FG! -
Annoying voice complied with a very punchable mug. Almost Theismannesque.

Pretty sure Waller wears 83. Do like his game though.

Chucky has his on. League focusing on COVID masks first I guess.

How do you spend a non-Bills Sunday?

Yeah I couldn't tell what happened from replay other than WR seemed to incidentally catch his knee with his cleats - maybe a bone bruise?

Frank Lewis WR in Chuck Knox Era. From Wikipedia Frank Douglas Lewis (born July 4, 1947) is a former professional American football wide receiver who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons. Lewis was drafted by the Steelers in the first round of the 1971 NFL Draft. He won two Super Bowl rings with the team, in Super Bowl IX and Super Bowl X.[1] In August 1978 the Steelers traded Lewis to the Bills in exchange for tight end Paul Seymour. Seymour was returned by the Steelers when he failed to pass their physical.[2] Lewis, however, remained with the Bills and the Steelers ended up receiving no compensation in the trade.[3] Lewis was a Pro Bowl selection in 1981 as a member of the Bills. In his pro career, he caught 397 receptions for 6,724 yards and 40 touchdowns.[1] So we got a really good WR for nothing!

Question for those who witnessed the SB years?
freddyjj replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good question here. I was convinced we would have played SF in 1988 but Bills lost AFC Championship game to Bengals in Cincinnati. The 1988 49ers would have featured Rice/Montana/Craig and as a finesse team would have been a better matchup. So saw earlier upthread that SB's 19-31 were won by NFC. Although Bills went 3-1 vs then NFC East (Eagles, Cards, Giants W's, Redskins L game 16 with starters rested) in 1990, it was obvious Bills were smaller, finesse team as compared to NFC East teams. The Giants exposed this in SB 25 and the Skins and Cowboys manhandled Bills in other 3. Even if Norwood made kick in SB25, outcome the same in other 3 IMHO. -
Ref's for the Bills game are... (update - Week 17)
freddyjj replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They threw a few more flags than we average (just shy of 6/game this year) in that game last year. As holding is now only called on ST kicks (it seems) this may expalin the drop 😎 -
Matt Hasselbeck on QB “intangibles” and Josh...
freddyjj replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't define 11 years, 177 career NFL games (with playoffs) and almost 40,000 yds and 260 TDs as a brief career. I believe that the Bills ability to run the ball was as important, if not more important, as Kelly's passing ability in the 1988-1993 era. -
OMG too easy. He wrote the article on the old tower PC in his parents' basement where he keeps his shrine to the Mt Rushmore of Patsdom - Brady, Belichik, Gronk and Edelman. They are all gone now but his fandom for all things Pats tells him they can still win the AFC East. "Maybe Next Year" is his new meditation mantra. Jets win tonight.

Not sure this is the case. You can be called up from PS without being signed to 53 under CBA Covid special allowance clause
