  1. OK we know it will be slow news days for a while until team back in BUF after bye week. So I thought I'd put out some topics for discussion: Bills win outright 61% of the time coming off the bye all time. Per the link here, warm weather teams have 30-35% winning percentages in 21-30 degree and 31-40 degree weather http://archive.advancedfootballanalytics.com/2012/01/how-does-temperature-affect-road-teams.html The Jags did win in PIT last year in the cold. Personally I like giving Daboll 2 weeks with some new speedsters and Josh to cook something up on Offense. Bills have won against a mobile QB this year beating TENN and Mariota. Bills D and Frazier did good job vs Jags on D last year in playoffs. Held Fournette to 57 yds on 21 carries. Bortels to 87 yds passing on 12/23 completion for 1 td, no INT and only 3.6 YPA. What killed Bills was Bortels running 10 times for 88 yds. Man that game was Neanderthal offense at its best! Bills did run for 130 yds on 31 attempts in playoff game so should be able to make some headway again. The passing offense has to improve on the 18/40 for 133 yds and 2 INTs that Tyrod/NP put up last year. I say turn the tables and make Bortles play QB and beat D (use Tremaine as a spy). Go Bills!
  2. DT was last Bill with 100 yd game as WR. So here is a huge play late in TB win that might be the play you are thinking about. 44 yds plus 15 on personal foul
  3. Think it was actually Tate vs the Raiders. https://wgr550.radio.com/articles/news/reaction-tate-play-shows-character-bills-team
  4. lol. I would be more impressed if Chad came back and tended to his uncle during his illness and also took time to straighten his life out. Might give the kid some perspective that is sadly missing in his life now.
  5. Thanks for the endorsement here! Not judging their lifestyle, just questioning their awareness of law/league rules. Point being that his having 2 drug suspensions prior, 10 games on next one will make any other team leery to give him any large guaranteed $$. His agent has given him horrible advice and I see him going on year to year deals on a go forward basis ala LeGarrette Blount. The NFL owners will not reward a player with baggage for making a stand - they are more conservative than me!
  6. Perspective here, Bell and LeGarrette Blount aka (Blunt) both claimed ignorance of law against smokinmg weed while driving when they got caught on way to team charter a few years ago. 'Nuff Said
  7. Ok I will choose to call you high! When is last time Bills won 6 straight? Bledose led and Mullarkey coached 2004 team won 6 straight after being 3-6 only to lose at home to Steelers backups in a must win situation. They had a good running game, Moulds, Evans at WR too! Not sure an offense with a rookie QB, a weak OL, aging RBs and a mediocre WR group can score enough to deliver more than 3-3 record coming home.
  8. Good stuff here Count! Get a starting C - can be had in Rds 3-4 if we are picking in high part of round. I would be ok with drafting an OT in Rd 1 and moving Dawkins to RT or G. He would be a very Athletic G if used properly. TE and WR are scheme secific pickups and may be wht we are seeing Foster, McCloud and McKenzie getting chance late in year to see what is needed at WR.
  9. Not sure if OBD will be getting compensation for our lost FA's as many will be budget signees elsewhere and we will have $80mm plus to chase starter / game changer FA's. The comp picks are awarded based on net losses so not a given we get any.
  10. The chronic injury that Taron Johnson has points to OBD looking at Slot CB for Nickel - which is 60% of our look on D. And a WILL LB given injury status of Milano and Humber being cut. Sorry but after week 11 in NFL it's about surviving the injury bug guys
  11. Takes a real man to fess up - good on you Shaq has been a revelation since Murphy went down. Hoping we can see a 4 man pass rush of Murphy/shaq/zo and Jerry get after Brady in a few weeks
  12. kudos on the insight here. The defense will need a slippery 3 technique like Kyle next year - Ed Oliver would fit the bill. Lorax is a unicorn - can play standing up at SAM, as a pass rusing DE or inside at DT in a Cheetah Rush package. There are dudes coming out of college who are hybrids and have to believe that OBD is IDing them. I would also list DE as an issue as Murphy is a potential injury settlement and Shaq is entering option year.
  13. Allen is not the only guy playing for Bills. If he were to start I believe the Patriots and Jags would be able to scheme against Bills effectively and Bills would be unable to score vs Pats and Jags. As for the other 4 games, I see a split with Fins, take second from Jets and a win vs Lions at home. Allen would then be 5-5 in games started and finished as a rookie. Kelly went 4-12. So 5-5 would be an OK mark in my book.
  14. Jalen Ramsey trashing our rookie QB - please start the lad OBD! The loss vs Jags in Playoffs. Half the O starters and 2/3 of D should still have it fresh in mind. Cheap Shot by Ngakoue knocked our QB out of playoff game last year - the Oline will be pumped! Bortles being the hero last year with 88 yds in QB scrambles - Tremaine and Matty M say hell no! Marrone bailing on Bills. Only Kyle, Colton Schmidt and Jerry Hughes remain from that 2014 team. Hard to believe but these are some leaders in locker room. Hope the weather cooperates and makes the conditions tough on the Jags too! Go Bills
  15. It was a great call and even better execution. Interesting that they had put Logan Thomas in upback in games prior to eliminate suspicion of his running the fake. Most teams must see him as a TE. Tossed a tight spiral I must say. Would like to see him versus Josh in an Uncle Rico "over the mountain" toss competition?
  16. OK, you asked so here's what I think: 1. Only 2 decent QBs in remaining 6 games - Brady and Stafford. 2. Only 1 team is even a top 16 D, the JAGS are 3rd best D. 3. Only 1 team in Top 16 O, the Pats at #10. No top Running backs to face so Bills D can force a one-dimensional game. That being said, I think we play Allen in the last 6 and go 3-3 to finish 6-10.
  17. here is speech in case you missed it. Kleenex please, something in my eye warning
  18. Virgil, thanks for doing these every week - must be a little easier after a win! I concur with all you said here. And two plays yesterday brought me to the same conclusion re: Benjamin. The dropped TD was obvious. Do some hand strengthening exercises. Roll to your left when falling and tuck the ball away from defender. In the 2nd half there was a medium throw to the sidelines and the Jets DB made a good play to deflect the ball. It was in the air for 2-3 seconds and Benjamin made no effort to dive for it. Keep mailing it in KB. OD likely to keep him around for depth now but I'd cut him. OBD likely to sign more FA's than lose so no need to worry about loss of compensatory draft pick.
  19. Tough to fathom after 1st 6 quarters of year but Bills are now #1 ranked D. Beane and McD have got "their" guys to play the various roles in the complex defensive scheme they run and it is working. Kudos to you for admitting that the move for Star worked. I hope Murphy is back after bye for his pass rush skills. In the meantime, the silver lining is that Shaq is playing great as a starter. Shaq's name got called more than any other DLineman yesterday.
  20. Oh wow tough break for him and Saints Wonder if Bell will have same outcome if he returns to Steelers. There's in shape and In Football Shape I guess.
  21. My take here: Not a given McD is back next year. As for Rex, per staff at OBD he and Rob were last ones to work in AM and first to leave at night. Not the best management skills.
  22. I was thinking the same thing. Was listening to Murph/Tasker show at lunchtime today and they stated likely due to his failure to fully digest the complex coverage schemes they use. Extra time in last few weeks to get up to speed is what Murphy said he was told by coaches.
  23. Wallace UDFA out of Alabama (6'0" 180lbs) reminds me of Jabari Greer, who was a smallish (5'11" 180 lbs) CB UDFA out of an SEC school (Tenn). If Wallace can duplicate Greer's career we will be all set!
