TB12 Inc got a PPP Loan of almost $1 Million...sharks will be circling
CheshireCT replied to Big Turk's topic in Off the Wall
Not fair to criticize him for that. Every person and business will take advantage of government programs that benefit them. Total non story here. -
None of this garbage matters, because we have JA. Who knows if Mahomes would have been as good here anyway. And it's still too early to tell if either player will be better than the other when it's all said and done. Is Mahomes better right now? yes. If someone asks me if I'd rather have Mahomes? No, I like our guy.

With the fins current winning streak, I won't dispute that they're a dangerous team or that they're on the rise. That said, I would be surprised if they threatened us for the AFC East. We've all seen this before, a talented rookie QB comes in and shocks the NFL, going on a hot-streak. However, experience has taught me that after a number of a games, NFL coaches will find weaknesses in his game and challenge him (usually leading to a slump until he can overcome said weaknesses). Although nothing is ever certain, I expect that we will see this soon with Tagovailoa. Even if he's a future hall-of-famer, he will hit his bumps in the road. Our young QB is a step ahead in this development process, and even if JA isn't "Tom Brady consistent," he's on his way. I expect that by the time we hit week 17, coaches will have the fins figured out a lot more and we will have the upper hand. Not to mention it's a tough road for them to overtake our now 4-0 division record. It would be a nice statement from this Bills team to close out the division 6-0 and say who's boss. -
For all the talk of our inadequate D-Line, I haven't seen anyone mention the opt-out of Star Lotuleilei. Fans always seemed to criticize him, but perhaps he really did a lot more than most thought.....I'm sure that unexpected loss created some problems up front. We know with Beane that he'll go out and get someone if he sees someone who will improve the team.

I'm sure there are explanations, but it always seems that it's a struggle for every NFL team to have both a top offense and defense in the same season. In our case it doesn't seem logical, since the Defense is mostly intact from last season, including all key players, plus the same system, etc.... I thought perhaps it was a product of playing soft to protect the lead in the previous games, but that wouldn't make sense in yesterday's game. Anyhow it has been super fun to watch our Bills so far this season, and I'm sure the combination of 4 games on film, plus Vrabel's extra week to prepare helped them to shut down our offense. Looking forward to a match against another juggernaut next week! Let's go Bills

This stuff happens to players on every team. Will take it as a blessing that he was caught, didn't hurt himself or others, and will hopefully not make such a mistake again. These mistakes can happen to anyone rich or poor - it's about impaired judgement when drunk, and not being around the correct people to take the keys away.

Final result of the Marcel Dareus trade for Buffalo:

Thanks for that. I agree also, the result did not live up to #3. -
Final result of the Marcel Dareus trade for Buffalo:

Dareus was a day one starter and incredible talent who played at a high level even as "lazy" as he was. He dealt with a massive train of tragedies in a short period of time and he just couldn't cope with it. Whaley and the Bills staff at the time knew what he was dealing with and they were doing their best to help him and encourage him. It was a solid draft choice that didn't go as planned for anyone. I give my best wishes to Marcel, that he can recover and lead a good life whether he plays football again or not. -
thanks for bumping! ???

actually would be pretty cool if we drafted the best kicker this year in the later rounds. If there was a FB in the draft with a 2nd round grade, we absolutely MUST draft that guy. If there was a FB THAT good, we need him smashing heads in Buffalo. LOL!!!

I like Knox too, optimistic about his future. And I agree with you that the Bills should and will take the best player available on their board. That said, if there was a top tier TE prospect there when the Bills have their pick....wouldn't it be great that have that big fast reliable guy for Josh Allen to throw to? I think every quarterback wants that. A lot of people around here seem to think Kmet is a serious prospect. If he's that good, I wouldn't doubt if the Bills would consider him if he's there.
-
I'm with you on that, both show potential to be good players, but an elite talent is something different.
-
I see. What a pity. I was just thinking TE is often great value in the 1st/2nd round. Gronk was a late first if I recall and Martellus Bennett was a 2nd (also as I recall). Seems usually GMs don't take a TE in the high rounds unless they really have a stable roster already.
-
I haven't investigated to be honest. I would think there must be a couple of guys out there, but I could be wrong!
-
I was just thinking, when is the last time we had a stud TE? We know what difference that makes in an offense, yet we've always had too many other pressing needs. After FA, we don't really have "holes." If we can get an awesome TE in the draft, it would be the icing on the cake. ;)

Cordy Glenn possibly to be released [Update: Released]
CheshireCT replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he came back, maybe he could be a useful backup? Doesn't have to play so many games to risk injury.... -
The OPs point is really about balance of cash between the players, rather than how much the owners have to pay. If one player gets an insane contract, that means there is left for the rest of the players on the team. I would say when it comes to player salaries, the biggest shame seems to be that some of the hardest working players who come in without the high draft pedigree, and end up playing exceptionally well, often never get their fair value (for example former Bills RB Fred Jackson). The UDFA can play just as well as a 1st rounder and he keeps playing for a low salary for years trying to prove his worth, then by the time he proves it, he’s over the hill and never gets the deal he should have.

Greg Olsen visiting Bills, Redskins, Seahawks
CheshireCT replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We've seen the Pats do this with great success for many years - find an over-the-hill vet with tremendous knowledge and experience in the game. This type of player usually comes on the cheap, can mentally execute anything you ask him to do, and can teach young players important things. Good idea if you ask me. -
Antonio Brown: Apology Tour - Preparing for return?
CheshireCT replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From everything I've seen and witnessed I feel it's more likely that he's suffering from mental illness than anything else. This guy probably took the wrong shot to the head, it happens with football players sometimes. I know it seems young for him, but to me it's the most likely explanation. What he's saying and doing goes far beyond being a "difficult person." -
So whatever will happen to "Right Josh" Rosen?
CheshireCT replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say he’s earned every Penny. Fitz has played his ASS off for every disorganized and terrible team in the history of his career. Team a total disaster? Bring in Fitz to lay it all on the line for your team and create 6 spectacularly exciting victories. Agree with you, but if he’s tough and determined, he will stick it out and get another shot eventually.
