"Be happy with what you have" comes to mind. Allen is succeeding with the Bills and continues to develop. And "fit" is not just about offensive scheme, it's also about personal, human connection. When McD and crew met with Josh Allen, I'm sure they felt good talking with him and working with him. Think about when you've interviewed for a job, often the candidates are all capable of the necessary skills, but the question of personality is something bigger. Forget the media hype about LJ, he's definitely doing a great job but we're just in year 2 with both of these guys. It will probably take 10 years to look back at this with any clarity to compare.

I feel bad for all the great Bills players that signed extensions during the rough years and remained loyal. Kyle is definitely in that group.

I just watched the Cowboys Patriots game, and it made me excited. Cowboys played them tough. It reminds me that when you have a good team, you get ramped up to watch those tough matches. These next few weeks are going to be fun going up against the big boys.

Human beings aren’t robots. Have you ever had a bad day or felt a bit “off?” He has been a very steady and reliable kicker for the Bills, so there is nothing to complain about. You would expect him to make the first kick, while kicks over 50 yards are a risk for any kicker. Find a replacement, and surely the new kicker will have a bad game sometime too.

I can’t say for sure, but I would predict that they have devoted very little time in the offseason and weekly preparation to the deep ball in favor of reps to work on his short game. Like he said and we could guess, he overthrows because he’d rather not underthrow into a turnover. I mean I get the frustration because it seems like since the guy has a huge arm he should have no problem connecting on those. But if he doesn’t work o that, it’s not going to be reliable. Again, just my guessing here....

Being an NFL Quarterback is DEMANDING to say the last. The amount of responsibility for such a young guy to carry is really enormous. They are working on his game, it’s a process. The base game of any NFL quarterback has to be the short routes, because moving the chains is the most important thing. They’re focused on getting him to do this and make good decisions. Josh Allen seems to be a mentally strong guy for his age, and I think I’ll get through that. He has all the power necessary to throw the deep ball, so I’m not worried about that....it will come back in time. As for the fumbles? It’s simple, this is a case of teams having more tape on a guy they didn’t have before and studying his weaknesses. This happens to every young QB in their early development - the weaknesses get exposed and then they have to fix the problems.

Before the season began, no one expected that we would be a 5-1 team, or a 6-2 team, or a 6-3 team. After the hot start, the fan base quickly got spoiled. Nearly the entire offensive personnel is different from last season, plus a 2nd year quarterback. Rare exceptions aside, it’s normal to need some time for this thing to come together. Let’s also not forget that the cap situation is EXTREMELY healthy, with 90 mil free space next season. If this team makes the playoffs, I think that already exceeds pre-season expectations for this year. We’ll be in good shape going into next season to build something.

For the moment, I'm going to trust that they're taking the right steps to develop him. As fans we just see the throws, but a young quarterback has a ton to learn (pre snap checks, etc.) When Big Ben came into the league he pretty much just handed the ball off his first season or two.

Question, does anyone know how many of the fumbles came off designed runs? It seems to me that he's much more likely to fumble in those scenarios.

Most artists aren’t huge sports fans, so they’re unlikely to crate sports art on their own. However, pay the artist and they will make it. If you want something like this, find an artist whose work you like, contact them, and I’m sure they will make it for you for an appropriate fee.

I also agree with the needs discussed on this post, but I’m not sure a WR is going to realistically help the team THIS season. Basically the whole offensive team is new from the Oline to the RBs to the WRs. They’re still just trying to figure themselves out, I think if you throw another WR out there right now it’s not gonna help unless MAYBE it’s an all-pro veteran (which is going to be hard to get). An edge rusher however as was also suggested could come in and contribute immediately.

I absolutely agree with you in that this kind of win reminds of me of many Bills losses to the Patriots, when the Bills started out hot and seemingly outplayed them but lost it in the end. I attribute this to two things: 1. Dolphins came out HUNGRY. They were hyped up on adrenaline in the beginning of the game. I believe this can often lead a team to a hot start but kill them in the end as the energy can’t be maintained for 4 quarters. If you sprint in a marathon, you’re going to lose. 2. Well-coached teams understand football is 4 quarters and use the first half of the game to play conservatively while figuring out what the other side is doing, and then adjust accordingly for the second half. This is my theory on how the Patriots operate. We know and the Bills know that the offense is not developed right now. So the strategy for the time being is to protect the football, lean on the defense, and then score what’s necessary to win. WIth time, I hope the offense develops and we will have some fun watching them light up the scoreboard, but that may take another season or two IMHO.
