exactly. i was gonna bring up the 4 straight years if somebody else didnt.... at that time in history he was also one of only 2 backs(with sanders) ever to go for over 1000 in 8 straight seasons. He was a "compiler alright". Compiling milestones that nobody else had ever approached.

“Nobody in the AFC can hang with the chiefs. We obviously need to pencil them in for their 3rd straight Super Bowl even though only 2 other teams in the history of the league have done it. In fact they’ll probably make the next 4 or 5 in a row. Screw the odds and historical trends. They are an absolute juggernaut” -Every media outlet/member under the sun

Cole Beasley, Tre make NFL Top 100 back to back
Stank_Nasty replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Saw this last week on NFL.com. Finally somebody tosses a bit of respect on Poyers name. Deangelo Hall goes over his top ten safeties..... https://www.nfl.com/news/top-10-safeties-heading-into-2021-nfl-season Rank 10 Jordan Poyer Buffalo Bills · FS Slightly more athletic than his counterpart Micah Hyde, Poyer's stats may not jump off the screen like his play on tape. But I have to praise him for playing the safety position in Sean McDermott's complex defense. McDermott asks a lot of his safeties in a number of combo coverages. Poyer excels in coverage and as a blitzer, and he's a sure tackler at the point of attack. He's often one of the first guys around the ball, and I don't expect to see anything different in his age-30 season. -

I agree with you. 100-150. just for discussion purposes Shaun O’Hara on GMFB just said he expects what could be a bigger year from Beasley this year and thinks he even coulda been a bit higher up on this years list…. Interesting -
Right. It seems to me over the last year that white is widely regarded as a top 5 CB. There’s already been 3 named over him so far and they aren’t even to the heavy hitters yet. Surprising.

You understand that we can disagree with the ranking, voice said disagreement, and still not lose a wink of sleep over it right? But, uh, thanks for the reminder I guess???? -
Training camp media and practice 8/15

I guess I would have to watch it again but I didn’t one time think Hyde was over stepping during that play. If he’s “launching” himself into a player he’s not making that play on the ball IMO. But again, I havnt seen the play in a week….. because, well, I didn’t think there was anything to think twice about with it. -
The 2020 season? Cowherd was in on Allen from the get go after his hot start. I do, however, remember Nick Wright claiming Allen wasn’t the best qb in the division after Tua got inserted for the fins. Cowherd was all in on Allen through the whole stretch run last year. I think you have your talking heads mixed up

And I’m 100% cool with that. If Allen goes down for any extended period of time, we have a guy that historically wins more than he loses that could come in and keep the bills in the playoffs while Allen heals. IMO he’s more valuable in that role than what we could milk out of a trade. -
Fair points. And so mine would be, is it too much to ask somebody that’s getting paid to talk about certain players in front of the masses to do a quick Google search on a players numbers before saying he sucked? And half those people still say “but I wasn’t wrong about his first 2 years.” …. Yes you friggin were. Take 2 seconds to go back and figure out how you coulda been so off the mark about a guy. You’re freaking paid to talk about sports. Geez.
-
right. i literally said numbers were solid "as a whole". These same analysts dont discount jacksons rushing contributions. So why would they forget about 500+ rush yds and another 9 scores on the ground for Allen? In just his 2nd year, Allen went for 3500 total yds, 29 td, 13 to's, and 10 wins in 15 starts. Solid as a whole. i think we agree there..... Anyone that says he was bad in his 2nd year is just trying to say it to justify their inaccurate stance on him coming into this last season.
-
She’s similar to a bunch of other hacks that won’t let go of his first year and you are giving her too much credit. She consistently references his first 2 years being bad. When somebody hints that Allen was bad in his 2nd season it immediately hints to me, their mind was already made up, that they were actually too lazy to ever go look at his numbers(which were very solid as a whole) and the only game they watched was the playoff debacle. It’s a super lazy way to try and act like you weren’t completely off base about him.

Mathis is gonna have a hard time getting in at all. Let alone first ballot. No way. Ware has might get the first time though.

i'm with you man. the funny thing is they've been spoiled for so long that they are all in denial. half of them have already talked themselves into haskins developing. they legitimately dont believe there team is gonna be down for any extended period of time. its definitely some sort of mental defense mechanism. but they'd all be way better off accepting it. i own and operate a fitness facility here in NW PA. i have 300+ active members so i get a good stream of football fans in daily and have a lot of fun talks. i would say 95% of the talks i've had with the "stiller" fans over the last 3 months have been me just laughing at them while they try to convince me that they'll be just fine after losing their gold jacket qb. i've tried explaining numerous times how they dont just grow on trees and that it can be a lonnnnnngggg wait in the NFL middle class. but most of it is them just referencing a history of excellence and how there is just no other way...... i cant friggin wait for ben to retire.

No not even close. The stats are plenty meaningful in every HOF convo. This is so off base it hurts. James had 4 different 1500 yd seasons! That’s taking over. Hands down. And go back and find me another RB playing with manning that came even remotely close to James production. Also you can’t seriously sit there and rip James for having an elite QB and then give Thomas a nod. Kelly was a top 3-5 qb all through Thomas’ prime. Let’s also not pretend like Thomas was the first dual threat back. Roger craig was a two way monster in the 80’s. Just a really rough post on your part all the way around. Really missed the mark.
-
And some of the best fans I’ve encountered were steeler fans as well. Have had good convos with pats fans as well…. That doesn’t mean the masses aren’t, in general, a** holes. I’ve been to Lambeau, Lucas oil, Heinz, and Jacksonville. Had a good experiences at all of them.
-
I should like him more than I do but living close to “Stiller” country has soured me on any player that has ever come through that franchise. a truly intolerable, entitled, self righteous base of fans. Literally act as though the franchise and they, as fans, are gracing the NFL with their presence. Insufferable.

Easily one of the most underrated backs of all time. He’s easy to forget about and I’m not sure why. I’m guilty of it. He was truly elite for a good 6 to 7 year stretch.

Why Josh Allen is not a "one hit wonder"
Stank_Nasty replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anytime I read or listen to an “I was wrong about Josh Allen speech”, whoever is giving said speech tries to justify their initial feelings based off year 1 and, more annoyingly, year 2…. It always chaps my a** when people bring up year 2 like Allen was awful. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more hate for a 2nd year qb that went for 10 wins, 3500 total yards and 29 total tds in 15 games. The guy had just 13 total turnovers and people acted like he was a turnover machine. It made absolutely no freaking sense. I’m sorry but if you just recite the normal “nobody could see it coming the first 2 seasons” bull crap I instantly wanna see you ran over by a semi. Laziest sporting take of the last couple years. When people still bring up Allen’s year 2 as justification for their initial feelings on him I basically still file them away into the idiot category, no matter if they changed their tune or not.
