  1. beat them by 11 and basically put our offense into cruise control by the middle of the fourth. We handled that team when all was said and done. i've noticed you get super irritated when anyone acts confident about this team being a favorite or thinking we'll handle a team. You did this song and dance for 5 pages about the titans earlier this summer. Sure its the NFL, man. We all know "any given sunday" and all that. Parity reigns in the NFL and both teams will have slightly different personnel. speaking of which, the steelers lost arguably their top 2 db's and 3 starts on an offensive line that was garbage to begin with. They do get Bush back, though....All that being said, this looks to me like 2 teams headed in different directions. Couple that with the atmosphere of homefield and i'm betting big on buffalo. Factoring in all that, yes, i would be surprised if we didnt handle business week 1... BTW vegas agrees. Last i checked the 6.5 was the 1st or 2nd largest spread of opening weekend. Hilton and Nelson were both big losses in the secondary as well. I live in "Stiller" country. They were all VERY upset when they couldnt get hilton locked back up for their nickel. he's one of the best. Beasley should eat week 1.
  2. Good question. That Pitt pass rush could make just about any DB look good.
  3. Some love for poyer with some numbers to back it up. Funny how we have been talking about this today and i stumble upon this article. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-all-30-and-over-defensive-team-aaron-donald-paces-unit-saints-eagles-have-multiple-first-team-picks/ S: Jordan Poyer -- Buffalo Bills (30) "A safety that can be disguised as a hybrid linebacker, Poyer was the only safety to record 120-plus tackled and two sacks last season. Poyer finished with 124 tackles (91 solo), two sacks, two interceptions, and five passes defended. Opposing quarterbacks had a 76.2 passer rating targeting Poyer, who mostly lined up in the box. Poyer is one of just three safeties to have 100-plus tackles in each of the last three seasons (Jessie Bates, Budda Baker). He's a valuable part of Buffalo's defense."
  4. It sorta crazy to me how safety has become such a devalued position in the league yet the Bills are present day proof of how valuable a good set can be.
  5. The thing is Poyer has quietly filled up his stat sheet as well. His numbers are impressive. I’m not losing any sleep over it or anything but do you really think there are 15 safeties better than him?
  6. Crap. Thanks for catching that. I had actually read it and just forgot to mention he was involved in that article as well. I'll toss it into the OP.
  7. A cool read on Allen and Diggs entering superstar territory and then, down below, a clip where Baldy breaks down why Diggs is the best route man in the league. Just some fun summer football content! https://www.nfl.com/news/2021-nfl-superstar-club-josh-allen-breaks-in-big-ben-bumped IN: Josh Allen Buffalo Bills Allen's dynamo 2020 season had to be cathartic for Bills fans who believed in their young quarterback all along. There were plenty of whispers last summer -- people weren't even really speaking at a low volume, to be honest -- from those wondering if Allen was really the answer for Buffalo. Allen took a monster leap forward in his third season, and he probably would have been the first Bill to win league MVP since Thurman Thomas in 1991 had Aaron Rodgers not delivered his own masterpiece. My favorite Allen stat (via Pro Football Focus): He was sixth in the NFL with a 79.1 percent adjusted completion rate, a massive jump out of the bottom five of the league the previous year. In one offseason, Allen went from a hyper-athletic hoss with a scattershot arm to the complete package. They should probably keep this guy around. IN: Stefon Diggs Buffalo Bills Diggs was an absolute stud in his debut season with the Bills, smashing a host of franchise records and running wild through secondaries as Josh Allen's top target. Buffalo returns almost its entire offensive core in 2021, and Diggs will continue to gobble up targets in one of the league's most pass-heavy offenses under returning coordinator Brian Daboll. The only thing that could hold Diggs back from another huge year would be poor health. Along with Davante Adams, he's as safe a bet as there is at the position right now. https://www.nfl.com/videos/baldy-breaks-down-his-top-3-route-runners-entering-2021
  8. I have a Schmidt ….. side note. Most awesome random Jersey I ever witnessed was 3 years ago, on my street in Waterford Pa. A young kid was rocking a Seahawks Levon Kirkland. I thought about stopping and asking to buy it but I didn’t wanna creep the poor kid out.
  9. https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/31739496/ranking-nfl-top-10-wide-receivers-2021-execs-coaches-players-make-their-picks 3. Stefon Diggs, Buffalo Bills Highest ranking: 2 | Lowest ranking: 8 Age: 27 | Last year's ranking: Honorable mention Some evaluators wondered aloud how Diggs would handle Buffalo, a new offense and a (then) inaccurate quarterback in Josh Allen after the trade from Minnesota. Answer: Like an elite receiver should. Diggs vaulted from fringe top-10 guy to one of the game's best thanks to a truly dominant season. Allen's new BFF led the league in targets (166), catches (127) and receiving yards (1,535). "Years ago, one of [Minnesota's] receivers got hurt and they put in this new receiver, Diggs," recalled a veteran AFC defensive coach. "Smaller guy, more of a slot receiver at the time -- we figured it shouldn't be a problem. We get in the game and he had a pretty damn good day. He's been [great] ever since." Diggs produced 20.3 receptions above expected, per NFL Next Gen Stats, by far the highest clip in the NFL. Though Diggs was unhappy in Minnesota, those who coached him or followed him closely knew he would thrive when made the focal point of a high-level offense. He was a primary option for the Vikings but he shared that role with Adam Thielen. "He's so competitive that his demeanor and ability had the opposite effect that some thought -- he lifted the entire offense up with his standard of play and his ability to get open and make tough catches," an AFC exec said. Added an AFC coordinator: "Practices like every day is a game. He's known for that. Really quick, great route runner, knack for getting open."
  10. Wr’s weren’t ranked when I made the original post. I stated that in the post. I’ll update it when they are.
  11. I highly doubt Bass gets any love until next year. He’s gotta string together a full season. And safeties already went. Both were left out of the top 15.
  12. Poyer wasnt even in the honorable mentions(top 15). I had a tough time with that one as well. Wr's havnt been listed yet. Bolded is my thoughts exactly. As i'm reading through all the lists and seeing our guys names brought up, i thought to myself, "now if we can just get a guy on that edge rusher list we're winning a super bowl"
  13. 2nd jets game. beautiful clean hit down the sideline on the intended wr, but it was a "bang/bang" play and he got flagged.
  14. I get your point i just dont totally agree. Poyers stat sheet has been fairly full since he arrived.... but i dont totally disagree with what you are saying. and the award for most original post of the day goes to....
  15. I'm sure we'll have one more with Diggs. Wr's, Rb's, and Te's all come out this week..... i think we end up with 3 different guys ranked top 5 at their positions. Thats craziness.
  16. I actually got a chuckle when looking at his highest and lowest ranks. Somebody actually pulled the trigger and had him #1 while others left him completely unranked. lol
  17. EDIT: Wr's came out today so i added in Diggs.....Every year ESPN does their positional rankings. They poll execs, coaches, and players to come to their conclusions. Some of our guys came in at real nice spots. I hadnt seen this covered anywhere in here so i figured i'd toss it up. I personally think Allen, Dawkins, and white came in where they should while Edmunds maybe came in a tick high. Dawkins was just outside the top ten as the first honorable mention named but if you take out the RT's in front of him it puts him as LT #9 if i'm not mistaken. And our safeties continue to be criminally underrated. Neither one even made it to the honorable mentions lists. Anyways i'll post links to the pages and paste the writeups of our guys. Its ESPN+ plus content so i dont know that its available for everyone to see. Sorry if this is too much info for one spot. I really didnt think a thread for each ranking was a good move. Also, Wr’s, Rb’s, and Te’s havnt been ranked yet. When they are I’ll be sure to update this for Diggs slot. https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/31800661/ranking-nfl-top-10-quarterbacks-2021-execs-coaches-players-make-their-picks 5. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills Highest ranking: 2 | Lowest ranking: 9 Age: 25 | Last year's ranking: Unranked Allen wasn't much of a consideration for the top 10 rankings a year ago. Now, the majority of voters have him in their top five after a massive third season in Buffalo. "The growth was pretty impressive," said an NFL offensive coach. "There were times when he was so in command of the offense, and when he's on top of his protections pre-snap, he's incredibly tough to beat." Allen ranked third in the NFL in QBR (81.7) after a pedestrian 49.5 over his first two seasons, which was 27th out of 35 qualified quarterbacks. His 37 touchdown passes surpassed his previous two-year total (30). Evaluators point to his four-touchdown performance on Monday Night Football against the 49ers and his 324 yards in the playoffs vs. the Colts as growth examples. Indy's zone defense made him escape the pocket and throw from the near-sideline, and he handled it all game. "His biggest weakness is also what makes him so good -- his competitiveness, and wanting to make the best play," an AFC scout said. "He'll hold onto the ball a little too long or bail on the pocket too early. He often gets away with that because he's so strong and can break tackles, but against good defenses, he might press, and it gets him into trouble." https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/31765336/ranking-nfl-top-10-linebackers-2021-execs-coaches-players-make-their-picks 8. Tremaine Edmunds, Buffalo Bills Highest ranking: 1 | Lowest ranking: Unranked Age: 23 | Last year's ranking: 7 Edmunds' potential is so expansive that this ranking feels too low. He is 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, with incredible downhill ability and range. "This guy is tough -- very rangy against the pass, good instincts," an NFC coach said. "Tough for us to deal with." Man coverage is not his strength, but Edmunds can use that 4.5-second 40-yard dash speed to diagnose short passes and wash them out. Edmunds covered 4,359 yards when traveling above 12 mph, per Next Gen Stats, the highest total of the group. And at age 23, Edmunds is still ascending. "In zone defense where he can come downhill, he's really good," the coach said https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/31771608/ranking-nfl-top-10-cornerbacks-2021-execs-coaches-players-make-their-picks 5. Tre'Davious White, Buffalo Bills Highest ranking: 2 | Lowest ranking: 9 Age: 26 | Last year's ranking: 3 White is a coach's dream. He's so smooth in his fundamentals that ESPN NFL analyst and friend of the Top 10 Matt Bowen calls White the Tim Duncan of the NFL. With 15 picks and 54 pass deflections since entering the league in 2017, White is a top-five fixture. "Not a blazer, but very quick," an NFC coordinator said. "Instinctive, great footwork, has the ball skills you want, breaks on the ball well." White can play man or zone equally as effective. One NFC coach pointed out that Buffalo is a team of overachievers in some ways, and White embodies that -- not a Ramsey-type athlete but can be as good as anyone with smarts and staying under control https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/31789857/ranking-nfl-top-10-offensive-tackles-2021-execs-coaches-players-make-their-picks Dion Dawkins, Buffalo Bills: "He's closer to elite than you'd think. He looks like he has a mediocre body, but you'll finish the game and realize he had his way in pass protection." -- AFC scout https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/31739496/ranking-nfl-top-10-wide-receivers-2021-execs-coaches-players-make-their-picks 3. 18. Seems a bit high to me but worth a post considering the discussion. Don’t think I’ve seen it posted anywhere else. The writer admits the ranking isn’t based strictly on 2020’s play. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-nfls-top-linebackers-entering-2021-bobby-wagner-retains-top-spot-buccaneers-boast-two-in-top-10/ 10. Tremaine Edmunds Edmunds injured his shoulder in the season opener last year, but rebounded to finish with another impressive campaign. His 119 combined tackles were tied for No. 8 among inside linebackers, and he tied his career high with two sacks. Edmunds, while incredibly athletic, didn't dominate in coverage, but finished with an Approximate Value (AV) of 9 -- which ranked No. 7 among inside linebackers. If we were ranking linebackers just off of last year's stats, Edmunds probably wouldn't make our top 10. However, we expect him to take a step forward in 2021. Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News noted that Edmunds stood out on the final day of minicamp because of his coverage skills. He reportedly used his 83-inch wingspan to stop Josh Allen from hooking up with Emmanuel Sanders deep down the field, which is something Buffalo Bills fans certainly want to hear. Edmunds is athletic enough to be one of the most well-rounded linebackers in the NFL, and he's entering his fourth season at just 23 years old! The Bills are a team on the rise, and Edmunds is a player that is doing the same. With the Bills drafting two pass rushers with their first two picks this offseason, I'm excited to see what Edmunds can do moving forward.
  19. Nick Wright threw a b***h fit this morning on First things first about these comments. Just like when he threw a tantrum weeks ago on having to discuss Palmers comments on their show. I got a chuckle out of it....... How many respected football minds have to share the same comments until people accept it? Where there's smoke theres fire. There are definitely some stragglers that are still having a really hard time accepting that.
  20. Sadly, it does need explained to him. And even sadder yet….. it won’t help.
  21. Finheaven is where the fish fans hangout. You and your hard on for the fins should head on over that way. BTW you say foolish things.
  22. It’s odd to me how much ole Scotty wants to disregard this. I’m not saying the Bills would have even won(woulda been a lot closer though) if the officiating would have been similar to the Super Bowl. But it’s downright obvious it woulda changed the complexion and flow of the game had the chiefs gotten nailed a time or 2 early on for that type of play…. Just like it changed how their whole defense could play in the Super Bowl very early on.
  23. You’re not wrong here. By the end of the season, when Allen was really on a tear and in the national spotlight, anytime somebody had the audacity to hint that his numbers said he was playing around mahomes level on TV or social media you woulda thought Josh Allen himself had punched their dog in the face and stolen all their first born children…. “How dare anyone mention any other QB other than Mahomes is playing at an elite level! The nerve of some people!”
  24. AKA “We weren’t THAT wrong on Allen, were we? He cant really be THAT good”
