  1. Seems a bit high to me but worth a post considering the discussion. Don’t think I’ve seen it posted anywhere else. The writer admits the ranking isn’t based strictly on 2020’s play. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-nfls-top-linebackers-entering-2021-bobby-wagner-retains-top-spot-buccaneers-boast-two-in-top-10/ 10. Tremaine Edmunds Edmunds injured his shoulder in the season opener last year, but rebounded to finish with another impressive campaign. His 119 combined tackles were tied for No. 8 among inside linebackers, and he tied his career high with two sacks. Edmunds, while incredibly athletic, didn't dominate in coverage, but finished with an Approximate Value (AV) of 9 -- which ranked No. 7 among inside linebackers. If we were ranking linebackers just off of last year's stats, Edmunds probably wouldn't make our top 10. However, we expect him to take a step forward in 2021. Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News noted that Edmunds stood out on the final day of minicamp because of his coverage skills. He reportedly used his 83-inch wingspan to stop Josh Allen from hooking up with Emmanuel Sanders deep down the field, which is something Buffalo Bills fans certainly want to hear. Edmunds is athletic enough to be one of the most well-rounded linebackers in the NFL, and he's entering his fourth season at just 23 years old! The Bills are a team on the rise, and Edmunds is a player that is doing the same. With the Bills drafting two pass rushers with their first two picks this offseason, I'm excited to see what Edmunds can do moving forward.
  2. Nick Wright threw a b***h fit this morning on First things first about these comments. Just like when he threw a tantrum weeks ago on having to discuss Palmers comments on their show. I got a chuckle out of it....... How many respected football minds have to share the same comments until people accept it? Where there's smoke theres fire. There are definitely some stragglers that are still having a really hard time accepting that.
  3. Sadly, it does need explained to him. And even sadder yet….. it won’t help.
  4. Finheaven is where the fish fans hangout. You and your hard on for the fins should head on over that way. BTW you say foolish things.
  5. It’s odd to me how much ole Scotty wants to disregard this. I’m not saying the Bills would have even won(woulda been a lot closer though) if the officiating would have been similar to the Super Bowl. But it’s downright obvious it woulda changed the complexion and flow of the game had the chiefs gotten nailed a time or 2 early on for that type of play…. Just like it changed how their whole defense could play in the Super Bowl very early on.
  6. You’re not wrong here. By the end of the season, when Allen was really on a tear and in the national spotlight, anytime somebody had the audacity to hint that his numbers said he was playing around mahomes level on TV or social media you woulda thought Josh Allen himself had punched their dog in the face and stolen all their first born children…. “How dare anyone mention any other QB other than Mahomes is playing at an elite level! The nerve of some people!”
  7. AKA “We weren’t THAT wrong on Allen, were we? He cant really be THAT good”
  8. That’s a crazy stat. But honestly if a D lets him roll to his right they may as well just head back to the huddle at that point. He’s just an absolute assassin when rolling that way and I have a hard time believing he won’t always be that way…. It also doesn’t hurt that we seem to have Wr’s with great sideline awareness. Riddick commented on it in the Niners game. If you let him out to his right you may as well just let him sit in a clean pocket. It’s gonna be the same result most likely.
  9. Heres an excerpt from an article based in Bill Barnwells analytical standpoint on Allen and a regression. This is based mostly from the statistical perspective. Interesting stuff. https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/31686086/where-2018-nfl-qb-draft-class-stands-three-years-evaluating-lamar-jackson-josh-allen-baker-mayfield-sam-darnold-josh-rosen Was it a fluke? I don't think so. When Wentz made his second-year leap in 2017, there were obvious unsustainable elements of his performance. As I wrote about back then, Wentz's 2017 season was built upon historically great performance on third down and in the red zone, with Wentz posting one of the 10 best seasons of the last decade in either category. Performance in those areas is tough to sustain unless you're dominating elsewhere on the field, and they were a one-year fluke for Wentz; he's 21st in third-down QBR and 10th in red zone QBR over the past three seasons. There are no obvious outliers like that on Allen's 2020 record. His receivers posted a 2.6% drop rate, which was just a little better than league average. Defenses dropped six would-be Allen interceptions last year, which was slightly below league average. He was fourth in red zone QBR and 10th on third downs. Nothing about his performance suggests he was riding his luck or building his success on an unsustainable house of cards.
  10. Pouncey, Villanueva, and Decastro. The 3 best lineman from a crap line. Bills D-line week 1…
  11. I’m not gonna pick every nit. IMO it’s sexy as hell.
  12. i dont think Allen has another 46 total td's this coming season..... but i also dont think we see a regression in his play and development. .... so i didnt vote because that wasnt an option.
  13. And then Mike Thomas and Allen Robinson. So that puts Diggs no higher than #5 with, I’m assuming at the very least, Hopkins, Hill, and Adams still to be mentioned. So PFF thinks Diggs is barely a top 10 wr…. I think everyone other than @Buffalo_Stampedecan agree that any ranking of Diggs outside the top 3-5 wr’s is just downright comical.
  14. and rated White as the 19th best corner in the game after he earned 1st team all pro.
  15. Ok. I'm done with this. You are obviously just being difficult for the sake of it or have some sort of odd allegiance with PFF. Elite weapons usually get more looks. That how it works. Anyone even entertaining the idea that Brown is better than Diggs cant be taken seriously. Good talk.
  16. I could deal with mike thomas being ahead of him at #44. proven elite track record. But Brown? no way. and the fact that you even entertain it is absurd to me. It just looks like you have some sort of odd allegiance to PFF. thats the only way i could see anyone not just downright scoffing at that ranking over Diggs. Brown has absolutely no business being in that convo at this point.
  17. This is literally the first time i've even heard anyone mention Brown in the same breath as Diggs.... not sure what your aim is here. do you honestly believe that ranking is justified? thats a really weak hill to die on.
  18. Heres some thoughts on Allens ranking. Starts at the 3:20 mark.
  19. Fair enough. He's not better than Diggs. And i'd bet money he wont be going forward. Diggs not only has the track record before 2020 but he just got done leading the NFL in in catches and yards while basically taking over 2 different playoff games. Its ridiculous to have Brown ranked ahead of him.
  20. i referenced this ranking in the Simms thread. AJ Brown 7 slots higher than Diggs is absurd.
