  1. This was exactly my first thought. All last year he called Allen the flavor of the month and he kept right at it all the way into this offseason.
  2. Geez, certain poster in here makes me long for the days of @Gene1973hyping up the Fins all last year and our inevitable collapse down the stretch. Yikes.
  3. Montez Sweat is very good opposite of Young. he's a physical freak that killed it at the combine 2 years ago. 9 sacks last year and already has 2 on this season. I could see him absolutely embarrassing Williams all day.
  4. At this point I’m actually more worried about their weapons on offense than I am their defense. 9.5 is high, but I do expect a win.
  5. I’m with you. Allen’s first 2 games give any level headed fan at least a bit of pause. Im doing everything I can to talk myself into not worrying about it
  6. I’m really trying to talk myself out of it. But dang man, some seriously easy tosses missed and how many dropped picks today? 2 or 3? Sheesh.
  7. 15 yards on the defense….. for farting on the qb…
  8. And Luckily it only takes one game. Plenty of “Juggernauts” have been bested in a one-off format. We have enough horses that a couple of great situational calls and maybe a little luck would get it done. …. Hell last year in week 5 we were a pube hair away from CEH fumbling and having a short field to try and take the lead with 4 min left.
  9. People need to get ahold of themselves when it comes to week 1. The recipe has been out on now to contain elite qb’s for 20 years. Get there consistently with 4 and let the other 7 cover. Any team that has the ingredients for that recipe gives ANY qb fits. The giants did it to Brady in 2 Super Bowls and the bucs did it to the new golden boy last season… Luckily for us there are all of about 2 teams in the NFL that can truly depend on that right now. People being all freaked out that it worked on our guy need to chill IMO. It’s gonna work on just about anyone. To put into context just how dominant their front 4 were…. It was just the 6th time since 2009 a team has blitzed less than 3% of the snaps and ended up with a pressure rate north of 30%. I’m not positive there’s a QB in the league that would played great within that context.
  10. Last years first game was a one score ball game with 6 minutes left in the 4th…. Maybe you failed to watch as well. No. Not this at all. We’ve already seen. And people are giving good examples that directly refute what you are saying about last year. there’s no “we will see”. We’ve seen. Stop it.
  11. No. People are literally giving you examples of when the offense handled good defenses and you are too thick to change course.
  12. I’ll add the Niners were top ten in both yards and points allowed at the time of that game last year… and then there’s the 27 they scored on the colts. A top ten unit. That dude is just talking out of his a**
  13. So last year, including the playoffs, the bills were 5-3 vs playoff squads. Paper tigers don’t do that. Then there’s the other 2 wins over the 10 win fins. They were 10-4 against the rest of the NFL…. And then this year there has only been one game played. Go ahead and say their flaws may take them out of the super bowl hunt but “paper tigers” is a bit over the top IMO
  14. I fully expect to have our hands full but have we not already put that one to bed? Allen has absolutely lit up Flores defenses for 2 years now. I dont even understand bringing this point up.
  15. Just read an interesting stat highlighting just how startling the amount of 4 man pressure they were getting..... just the 6th game since 2009 that a team blitzed less than 3% of the snaps yet generated more than 30% pressure rate. And for as amazing as that stat is, just a blocked punt was the difference in this game. Theres nothing earth shattering there. The "recipe" on how to stop elite qb's has been out for over 20 years now. Get there with 4 and drop 7. Luckily for us theres about 3 teams in the league that actually have the ingredients to pull that off. Just unfortunate we had to meet one of them week 1.
  16. Whats scary is they'll have tuitt back in 2 more weeks. YIKES.
  17. Right. I think I read 8 of our first 11 drives ended up in PITT territory. And you end up with 16 friggin points. That just screams bad situational football. Inexcusable
  18. Truthfully most of the metrics fell in our favor by a wide margin. I think I read 8 of our first 11 drives ended up in Pitt territory. That’s a bad look for our situational football. It just…. Is what it is I guess.
  19. You’re not wrong. I’m looking at it more as whole. Anytime your defense comes out of a game with those sort of cumulative numbers you should expect to win IMO… and honestly you should win handedly.
  20. Well I disagree. If we’re talking about the defensive unit I’m 100% gonna disregard a blocked punt. It had nothing to do with them.
  21. And I say as a general Rule it was a good move. Defense showed did plenty to win this game. Anytime, in today’s NFL, you hold an opponent to 250 total Yds and 16 pts you should expect to win that game.
  22. As of now the hourly says around 30% chance during game times. So I’m not real worried about that. Tailgating doesn’t look optimal though. That stinks
  23. And they would be correct. Eric mangini brought this up 2 days ago on “first things first” as he was trying to explain his Bills pick to Nick wright as Wright was throwing a typical Chiefs fan temper tantrum when somebody doesn’t automatically crown them as gods gift… He explained why he liked the Bills out of the AFC but then he eloquently went on to explain that it’s not an anti-chiefs pick and more of just a pick that sides with historical evidence….. And Wright proceeded to plug his ears, stomp his feet, and hold his breath like the toddler that he is.
  24. The qb is most likely done after this year.... you wanna predict a scenario where thats not dropping them into obscurity? ..... and context is key. 7 of first 11 qb's they played last year were rookies or backups. Once they got into the meat of their schedule and the playoffs they were completely exposed. And i think we both know theres a difference between getting embarrassed at home in the wildcard vs on the road in the title game. come on man.
  25. Their denial is astonishing. Living in NW PA i deal with enough of them. Their reason that browns wont be good this year "because they're the browns". You're 100% correct about living in the past. As far as their future? I've had numerous laughable convos with them about how Haskins can be groomed and they'll be contenders for years to come.... they are all gonna have a real rough transition into the Post-Ben era.
