Beasley is not going to be the well kept late round secret I thought he would be for me by the time my drafts roll around on labor weekend.... was just sitting down with a couple of old friends in my leagues(stiller, and browns fans) last night for some beers and both got to prying me on him..... I feel like my hesitance to say much about him basically told them all they needed to know ?

I slightly disagree here. I think making it onto the initial roster holds merit. It’s the fact that nobody plays in it and 4th or 5th alternates are now going that waters it down.

I’ve said this a handful of other times and I’m gonna say it again. I really would like to see him get some burn with the KR/PR units. That open field rugby style and the speed seem to be a good match for those duties and it doesn’t take the football IQ that being dependable a starting NFL RB takes. Im not even saying he makes it that way but I dunno how they can’t be curious there.

Shady took one 75 to open the 2nd half against the jags in 16. Regardless he ain’t doing it at this point in his career and if he did he wouldn’t be pulling away like wade was.

Lol. That was a horrendous pass from Jackson if I recall correctly. Not nearly as blatant as other drops throughout the preseason from football lifers that also havnt shown the ability to break 2 different huge plays in minimal touches.

I think you and others might be missing a critical point. It’s not about others lighting up the preseason and then sucking anyways. Not about comparing his preseason to anyone else’s.... it’s about if he’s progressed with his game. Was he making these throws last preseason? Did he look this comfortable? im 100% on board with the preseason being fairly meaningless and you just need to not look BAD. But with that being said, I think we can all see marked improvement from season 1 to season 2 as he wasn’t playing like this last offseason. Put all the other preseason crap aside. Does it look like he’s improved? I think that’s a resounding “YES”. And I think that’s a reason to be excited as even when he came in green as hell the team was 5-6 with him Basically being baptized by fire.... any real significant improvement from Allen could easily mean 9-11 wins for the team this year. He needs to be compared to his younger version. Nothing else.

I think you fail to acknowledge any context with Barkley. I personally think the team that would be set up around him in buffalo if he has to step in lends itself quite well helping Barkley succeed. Revamped line, Wiley veteran rb’s who can catch out of the backfield, Cole Beasley and a defense that doesn’t look like they are gonna let games get away. Context. I think your hang up on arm strength in this situation is a little over blown. People keep bringing up his past failures. That’s sorta silly to me. How about we evaluate him on what matters? His time as a bill.... he’s played well in any opportunity so far i’m personally quite confident if Allen were to go down but the rest of the team was relatively healthy Barkley could keep us rolling to .500 or even a game up on that.

I definitely had a sense of relief last night knowing that returns might actually mean something this year. When was the last bills punt return? 14? Thigpen vs packers? How about a kick return? Maybe 14 as well? Spiller vs fins?

how many times do people have to post a replay of that play around here before a handful of you stop saying this?.... its literally not behind him and if he makes the initial catch RIGHT IN HIS HANDS AT FACEMASK LEVEL he has the chance to cover up or lunge at the endzone. it was his own stonehands and bobble that got him hung out to dry.
