  1. Travis Etienne literally comes out and says the travel disparity played a part in the game. Called it a huge advantage for them.
  2. Great post OP. I agree with most of it. The fact that these games on Offense span both Daboll, now Dorsey, seems to indicate that this is an issue beyond just the OC. Whether it's an Allen issue and/or personnel, I don't know, but this is now two different OC's where we've seen a game like this against the Jags, never mind the Jets debacles. I do believe that with how AJE is playing, we have the best DE rotation in the league with Rousseau, Floyd and AJE. If we can get Von ramped up by the end of the season, this pass rush can carry the defense, no matter what injuries we have behind them (within reason). And for people asking how we can compete with SF, or how anyone can for that matter... Buffalo's Defense looked like THE best Defense in the league and proceeded to lose White, Milano and maybe Jones for the year in consecutive weeks. We're entering Week 6. Who knows how the season plays out. SF isn't KC. They will likely face some health adversity like everyone does. (except KC in recent years).
  3. I still think we're a better team than Miami. Their defense is not built to slow down our offense. Our defense struggled to contain Etienne, Ridley and Kirk without Daquan, Milano & White... but we also didn't have Rousseau, Benford and (basically) Von. We need to get healthy, and we can't really sustain anymore season ending injuries, but Poona Ford is a decent replacement for Jones and we drafted Dorian Williams in RD3 for a reason.. that reason simply comes earlier than we hoped for. CB is where I think we may need to add. Not necessarily a Surtain blockbuster trade, but if Elam can't even be counted on to be serviceable, we need someone backing up Jackson/Benford that is, at least, a scheme fit that can provide a baseline of play.
  4. Far too much variance in the offense. I'm not pinning that all on Dorsey, but an Offense that goes 5 games.. blows out 3 teams and looks like a JV squad against the other 2, is not an Offense built for a Playoff run.
  5. This DL will go as far as Oliver, Rousseau, Floyd and Epenesa take it. As far as Von goes, the hope I have is that we can get him back to 90% of what he was early last season by the time the Playoffs roll around.
  6. Maybe, but it could also be due to the fact he’s a 1T and teams don’t typically rotate in a bunch of 1T‘s. Especially not this defense.
  7. The accounts coming out of what has happened in the attack are from a world many people didn’t realize still existed. This is archaic levels of brutality.
  8. AJ Epenesa legitimately looked like TJ Watt out there. Hes looked good all year, and when given the spotlight, he showed out. Frustrating that he’s in a contract year, but once we get Von ramped up and Rousseau back, this DE room might be the best in the NFL. Ed Oliver and Terrel Bernard are just good. Week in, week out, consistently stand out.
  9. I’d entertain a blockbuster trade for Surtain if Denver is listening, given he has another year on his rookie deal, plus the fifth year option. Other than that, I think Poona replaces Jones .. Williams gears up to replace Milano .. and we roll with Benford/Jackson and likely Ingram as depth, with Elam inactive depth. I do think Beane will be open to scheme fit starters like Levi Wallace if he can make the move for a Day 3 pick.
  10. Checking Twitter for the first time since this afternoon and I think people have finally lost it over the preferential treatment refs give KC. Everyone sees it. Now a lot of notable people in the NFL world are openly talking about it.
  11. Significant deals are made almost every year before the deadline. I don’t even think we need to get crazy and trade away multiple picks for a guy like Surtain, but if needed, we can likely find a CB, LB or DT to bring in. Just depends what level of player and what Beane is willing to part with…. Day 1 pick blockbuster, Day 2 pick for a good player or Day 3 pick for a decent player rental.
  12. Of course he is..
  13. I think head up, we can certainly beat them again, but that offense is going to rock bad/mediocre teams. I just don't see them slipping up unless it’s against a really good team. ….which is problematic in division.
  14. Daquan Jones has been phenomenal, and maybe he has been our best DL, but this line still has Von, Rousseau, Floyd, Epenesa and Oliver. It’s not like we’re the Raiders and lose Maxx Crosby. Tre probably is our best cover corner, but Benford was right there with him.. and the Bills can find a corner before the trade deadline if they truly feel they need to upgrade there. There are guys always made available, ranging from depth to starters to star players at that position that get traded in-season. Milano is the gut punch, but this isn’t 1995 and a linebacker isn’t the difference between making a run or not.
  15. I thought that was a catch. I know KC gets calls, but he (barely) had both feet in with the ball in his hands and then no bobble after.
  16. If the Niners lose Fred Warner, do you take them out of the running? Beane isn’t going to trade away a bunch of picks to address all these injuries, but at least these injuries happened before the trade deadline.
  17. I think Kelce is ok.. he hobble-jogged off the field, but that facial expression from him didn’t look great on the sideline.
  18. Allen needed to lead him and Shakir would’ve gotten it, but I think he just thought what we all thought.. that Shakir could walk in. Misread it, imo.
  19. Schefter is reporting the Broncos are open to trade talks on quite a few players. In such a loaded draft with multiple big time QB prospects and top tier wide receivers etc.. I have to think the sellers will be more open than last year to move guys. So, maybe it’s not Denver we reach out to, maybe it is, but I think there will be plenty of opportunities to bring in a LB, DT and/or CB that at least can help solidify the units, if needed.
  20. If losing Tre White and Matt Milano early in the season are the difference in making a Super Bowl run or not, then Josh Allen isn’t the QB we think he is, and we should clean house of Beane and McDermott. Its a lot to deal with in back to back weeks, and who knows if Jones is done.. but exactly zero contending teams lose a linebacker and think they can’t make a run.
  21. True, except KC seems immune to this statement. Year in / Year out, they have relatively good health.
  22. Id lean towards yes, because the players were pretty vocal about the turf after the game.
  23. It’s been a lot. Losing Tre two years ago. Von last year, Hyde in Week 2, plus the Allen UCL injury. This year, by Week 5, down Tre and Milano.. awaiting news on Jones. Every team goes through it, except KC. Ravens have been snakebit with season ending injuries. Steelers lost Watt a few years ago. Dolphins with Tua last year. Bengals lost their top CB early, then dealt with a decimated OL in the playoffs.
  24. Well.. outside Miami, we’ve got a big party at 3-2. Maybe KC would like to join later?
  25. Bills can likely make a move or two at the deadline to, at least, bring in a guy that fits the scheme. CB’s are typically available before the deadline. That’s why the Tre loss isn’t a killer. They can’t, likely won’t, replace Milano if he’s lost for the year, but they can bring in a CB and/or DT.
