Prigozhin turning back makes zero sense. What could he possibly be promised that he’d head back to the field? Reminds me of the phrase “come at the king, you best not miss”… *Twitter Space guys are hearing that Wagner has been given security clearances from the Kremlin and MoD he has issues with will be dealt with .. Prigozhin will have more say in the execution of the war.

Seems a lot of people celebrating this are viewing it in a Ukraine-centric fashion.. Likely the best case scenario for Ukraine is for Putin to remain in power, beat back Prizoghin, but become further weakened by having to pull frontline troops out of Ukraine and now look 100% vulnerable. Prizoghin taking control is a complete Wild Card in relation to Ukraine. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth and seems to only care about money and power. He seems open to ceasing war by recent comments aimed at Putin, but has long held the view that Ukraine should be destroyed and Putin has been too weak in his military advances. Beyond Ukraine .. what does this mean for global stability? Ukraine is only a bit piece of this. Regime change has rarely worked out as intended. We’ve seen the rise of ISIS and mass humanitarian crises that now continue to threaten Europe to this day. This time nuclear weapons are involved. The war in Ukraine may, or may not, be positively affected by this. Every other outcome is a complete wild card and could get far, far worse.

It’s honestly bizarre that neolibs and neocons are simping for … checks notes … Prizoghin and ultra-right wing backed Wagner Group. Most of the “pro-Putin” rhetoric was simply opposition to the funding of forever proxy wars and the use of Ukraine as collateral damage. We have no idea how this turns out, and you’re putting a lot of faith in Putin not becoming a wounded animal with nukes and/or Prizoghin .. a maniacal mercenary .. now becoming the de facto leader of Russia and acting in a diplomatic fashion. Perhaps we can strike a deal with Prizoghin, as he seems to talk out of both sides of his mouth, but this situation (with nuclear weapons involved) is hardly something to be taking victory laps over. How many times have we orchestrated regime change only for it to completely backfire?

It’s wild how much better the coverage of this situation is on Twitter than on any of the media networks.. I know there’s an aversion by some here to listen in when they see some of the participants typically in a Mario Nawfal space, but he will bring in people from all sides. He’s been going for about 16 hours now and currently Lev Parnas and Malcolm Nance are two of the speakers in the mix … they are certainly not members of the right wing populist crowd. Other speakers are some people in Moscow, foreign policy analysts and former military/intel.

Do we want a coup in Russia? Honest question. I mean, I know our leaders do .. that’s obvious. We’ve certainly had our fair share of regime change … when has it turned out for the better? Prighozin has already stated that he wants Ukraine - He’s reportedly more hawkish in regards to this war than Putin .. so it’s not like he’s going to take out Putin and then leave Ukraine alone. We would then have a wild card government in charge of Russia with access to nukes.

This is essentially what the Chiefs have done for Mahomes. Remains to be seen what it looks like without Kelce, given he’s an ironman, but if you give a QB like Mahomes/Allen time to throw, and have NFL quality WR’s .. good things are going to happen.

You would see, on this topic, my belief is for gay marriage equality, along with adoption rights .. extended to equality for all members of the LGBTQ community at an adult age. You’d see pushback on making this a state religion and pushing this ideology onto children. I say this as someone who pushes back against it both because of personal beliefs AND because I’ve seen how far the movement has come .. only to rapidly lose public support due to the constant pushing of the activist class and cultural realignment envisioned by capital investment firms. It’s very easy to have zero nuance on this subject and characterize those with valid concerns as “homophobic”. Much tougher to have real discussion about what the movement has become, where it’s going and why it’s now beginning to hurt those it initially aimed to help.
-
Again .. your premise that “nobody is forced to celebrate” has been disproved plenty of times on the OT board. Id respect your post much more if you didn’t resort to calling people “homophobic” when you know nothing about them. A growing number of people who have always advocated for gay rights (such as myself) wish people like you would chill out with the name calling and bizarre aggression to those who pushback against a movement that is more about BlackRock and Vanguard than it is gay rights. If you truly cared about the community, you’d restrain from flying off the handle anytime someone invokes anything that tangentially involves them. LGBTQ acceptance has dropped precipitously in recent years. It’s not because people have become less tolerant. It’s because people are sick of forced compliance and people, such as yourself, that can’t help but go 0-100 in regards to name calling. I brought it up because we’re on a month where we focus so heavily on one subset of peoples identity and/or beliefs. McDermott being a Christian is fundamental to who he is. The poster i responded to had a problem with that being highlighted. My question to that person is why? Then here you come with the name calling and aggression that too often accompanies this discussion nowadays. To the detriment of the community you claim to care about.

The slightest pushback and this is your response.. I could counter and debunk quite a few things you said here, but it will all be deleted soon, as it likely should. Examples have been provided ad nauseum on the OT board. This is why people like YOU are responsible for LGBTQ acceptance dropping in this country. “Everyone who disagrees with what Pride has become in the slightest is homophobic” Not me. Love and let live.. I have no issues with anyone being who they want to be at an adult age. I grew up marching in Pride for my uncle who was cared for by his husband on his death bed for two years as he fought cancer. You have to grow thicker skin and/or learn a new pushback. The point remains. If McDermott was gay, it would be highlighted. Saleh being Muslim was highlighted. So why the issue from the person I responded to for McDermott being highlighted for beliefs core to his being?

I never really thought Pegula would have much of an appetite for a huge change in the organization, given what he’s going through. Thats not a knock on him. He’s an absolute blessing to this team/fanbase/region. It’s just human nature. He’s going through a lot, and I figured he’d probably double down on a good hire he made as HC and hope that the next step is for “good” to become “great”.
